Just found your channel, I’m loving the ktm vids. They’re helping me a lot with my own maintenance. It would be helpful if you let us know torque values as you went along. Thanks for posting.
Thanks! Yes I do kinda fly past some of the torque specs and don't mention them. I will try to start slipping them into the videos. Thanks and thanks for coming along!
My bike does the same exact thing, Im throwing an oem clutch and rekluse dampeners in now. Heard the rekluse are much more stout and thicker. Awesome video. Well done 👍🏽
this is the exact video i have been looking for since i got my fc450, noticed a bit of noise from the clutch but everyone said it was normal but had a feeling it wasnt. going to inspect and take a look when i get time! thanks a lot
Thanks. No the YZ250 2 stroke does not have these damperners. Its more needed in 4 strokes where the bottom end power comes with big pulses, but some KTM 2 strokes have them too.
Has anyone changed clutch damping rubbers on a 23 ktm 450 sxf? KTM changed the locking plate washer to a Wedge lock washer. Worse thing they could've done.
Since this is a wear item, just like the piston, would you recommend changing the rubber dampeners at the same time as the piston since both needed to be changed at about the same time?
Nice vid again dude i got one question if you can give me some tips. I got ticking noise around head kx450 08, i though maybe valves arent in spec so i chek them 3 times to be sure and they are in spec, bike runs good got lot of power and start like champ when col or hot, the thing is ticking came when the bike getting hot when i strarted when is cold no ticking then when bikes gets warmer ticking comes.
Hello. The KX450 is kinda know to tick even in perfect shape. It could be normal. One suggestion though is to use a good oil thats more heavy duty like shell rotella 15-40. COuld be normal though. You can also send me a video of it and I will take a listen to it. You can email it to upallnight91@hotmail.com
Hello. I never had one myself but I have test rode bikes that have had the conversion on them and it surely does seem to make the clutch pull easier. Maybe a hair less reliable compared to a cable clutch though.
It can sometimes take some light taps sometimes to get it seated back in. If that doesn't work you can always remove the clutch slave cylinder on the other side and slide it in that way.
Yeah. Thats one of them Stickers they give you at the track with the date on it so they know you paid to ride. Normally people put them on the front number plate but I guess he stuck his on the clutch lever lol
the original spring dampers in my 1984 atc 350x are still working like new and i have to replace these shitty pieces of rubber on a brandnew dirtbike why tf would they do this? and mine is a yamaha so i literally have to grind it apart.
@@UpAllNight91 honestly i dont know bro i replaced the whole clutch pack with another used OEM with less wear and the sound is not as bad but i have no clue. think im just going to rebuild the whole thing just to be sure. i dont like riding a bike that sounds like it does. its a 2008 WR450F so itll forsure be worth rebuilding its the last carburetor model they made.
@@TheSnowWolf1000 Ok. A lot of Yamahas have clutch chatter even when new. Maybe that all your hearing? I know my YZ450 had a good amount of chatter and it was fine.
This channel should be way more popular than it is. This guy knows his shit and is very knowledgeable and informative.
Thanks man!

Right on! Glad to hear its been of help.
This video was extremely helpful, thank you!
Your welcome, Glad to hear it helped!
Another great video!!!
Thanks!😁
This was actually a really good video. Those bushings were really worn. Do the YZ250's have them?
Thanks. No the YZ250 2 stroke does not have these damperners. Its more needed in 4 strokes where the bottom end power comes with big pulses, but some KTM 2 strokes have them too.

Oh didnt know that changed it, just checked though and sure enough.
Damn you know your shit. Awesome!
Thanks! I'm always learning even still but appreciate it!
Since this is a wear item, just like the piston, would you recommend changing the rubber dampeners at the same time as the piston since both needed to be changed at about the same time?
I think that sounds reasonable. Its surely a wear item. Maybe faster and sooner on the bigger 450's.

Question 🙋🏻♂️ what do you think about the magura hydraulic clutch conversion for older bikes like 04-09 crf250r
Hello. I never had one myself but I have test rode bikes that have had the conversion on them and it surely does seem to make the clutch pull easier. Maybe a hair less reliable compared to a cable clutch though.
I have my pushrod taken out right now.. I’m not sure how to get it seated back in the whole way. Any tips?
It can sometimes take some light taps sometimes to get it seated back in. If that doesn't work you can always remove the clutch slave cylinder on the other side and slide it in that way.
Is his clutch reservoir covered with tape?

Dang your Yamaha's went bad! Thats actually kinda rare.
