Man i saw on the Paranoid Albums, you have those PVC Sleeves. Please change them ASAP!!! They will damage your vinyl and will leave a permanent stain on the record 🙈
Great Video and the Swirl collection is amazing!

Totally agree on the PVC sleeves. I changed all my covers a few years ago now to poly ones. I had few albums going back 40 to 50 years where the sleeve had caused ghosting on the vinyl. Some I cleaned and came up a bit better but once damaged it will not come off. Good thing though is it does not affect the audio.

I'm new to vinyl and went to Southend record Fair on Sunday. I got Ten, Nevermind, and Back in Black for £40. All coloured. Didn't realise or know about bootleg copies but I do now after playing them! Live and learn!

Dude, you have to get rid of those PVC outer sleeves. They can offgas permanently damaging your records! You can tell when it's happened as there are strange cloudy/wavy marks on the record.
Stick to any poly outer sleeve, just no PVC.

I said the same earlier but my comment seems to has disappeared! Use 400g polythene sleeves and not the 200g ones which are too flimsy.

Treasure hunting and crate digging - two of my all time favourite hobbies! Much more rewarding than just searching online. Sad to hear you’re more of collector than listener though, as with all things in life it’s about balance!😀

Fantastic! So happy you did a video on your Sabbath collection - a very nice collection indeed. The first pressing of the Paranoid LP also has six lines (not 5) of credits in the gatefold. This is a highly sought after edition and £44 is a very good price - especially in that condition. Also, check to see if your copy of the first Black Sabbath LP has the Philips credit at the bottom of the label. That's also a very sought after edition and I think the very first pressing of that album.

never really liked black sabbath myself apart from Paranoid, tho heaven and hell is fantastic. It reminds me of early Rainbow which why I really like it. Ronnie honestly was an outstanding singer. The albums he done with rainbow and even his solo album are just masterpieces. Can't fault him

I think it's super unfair how most fans, and DEFINITELY the Sharon Osbourne camp, treat the Tony Martin albums. The Headless Cross is not my favorite album by them, but I legitimately think he's the best singer they ever had. I say that with every awareness of the prestige associated with Ozzy, Dio and Ian, and I don't mean to diminish them. Tony Martin absolutely killed Cross Purposes and The Headless Cross etc. He was the perfect choice for the vibes on those albums.

Black Sabbath is one of my favorite bands to collect. My biggest wants are the first 4 on Vertigo Swirl. Unfortunately here in the states I’ve never found any. Very cool to see all four in your collection! Even more impressive may be the deals you got them for! Your granddad is a brilliant negotiator!

Nice collection. I note you are missing Tyr though. The rarest and most expensive one to buy. I have Near Mint copy bought on release, same as I did going back to Never Say Die. I do have lovely condition copies of all the rest though. Bought Paranoid new back in 1972 for about £2.15

Brilliant mate, loved the video. Im 65 years old but didn't catch onto Sabbath until 1974 when i bought Paranoid, then Sabotage when it was released the year after. I was lucky enough to have seen them 3 times during the mid to late 70's, firstly on the Sabotage tour in 75, then their Technical Ecstasy tour, and finally on their Never Say Die tour, WHICH... had an unknown band by the name of Van Halen as support, hard to believe isn't it hahaha. You've done well getting hold of those early albums on the Vertigo label, the copies i bought in the mid 80's were on the WWA label apart from Sabotage which was on NEMS, unfortunately i dont have my original vinyl from my teens, anything i do have is on cd or re-leased vinyl. Incidentally my new copy of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath has a misprint on the back cover, it only has side l listed, side 2 is missing. Favourite Sabbath album for me has got to be their first album, Black Sabbath, but really you could choose any of the first 4 and no one could argue with you.

Interesting! I have a different version of Paranoid, it's a gatefold on Vertigo but has the Roger Dean Space ships label which I think was introduced in 1973. Faves? Well Paranoid for the Oz Sabbath but Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules was when I really got into them, saw them at Hammersmith in 1981 & '82 - showing my age now :)

Seventh Star was going to be a Tony Iommi solo album, it was the record company that wanted it to be and forced it to be a Black Sabbath album. That's why it has that weird compromise of Black Sabbath featuring Tony Iommi.

very entertaining video. as for a favourite album, then it's either the debut or Sabotage. Fro the Dio era I've got a soft spot for Mob Rules.
I saw Sabbath at the legendary Sofia Gardens gig in Cardiff in 1981, when the promoter sold enough tickets for 2 shows and they had to play twice in one night to prevent a full scale riot! I saw the first one and then hid to try and see the second but no chance - ww were found and thrown out!
I had tickets then for the following year there, but heavy snow caused the venue's roof to collapse and it was cancelled!
Was also supposed to see them in August 1981 at Heavy Metal Holocaust at Port Vale's football ground, with Motörhead. But they piulled out and Ozzy played instead. That was a great day out with Riot, Triumoph, Frank Marino and a couple of others on the bill.
perhaps you should do Heep and their connections next but that'd be a long old video!!

I was in the concert at Sophia Gardens when there was obviously something going on outside. Some fans were breaking in through high level windows in order to get in. After the concert a friend of a friend gave me their ticket as they had to catch a train, so I got in to the second show as well. Amazing night!
