Great video! A fiver for that first press Mott The Hoople LP on the pink island label is a bargain - even if it is a tired copy - that's a very good price. Happy crate-digging! :)
Hey man, thanks for recording and sharing. I am going create digging tomorrow at my local store so I just wanted to see some other people enjoying the same thing. All the best to you and your grandad.
Hi guys. Another great video. I collect rock/metal Japanese imports and I know how difficult they are to find at UK fairs. I would be tempted to bring the stall back home (if only I could afford it all!)
@thevinylhunters you are welcome. On another video, I noticed you and your Grandad buying those ultra thick PVC sleeves at a record fair. I had a major problem with those sticking to the covers and had to replace them all with high grade polyethylene. The chemicals of PVC can react to the outer service, even with correct storage, so just be careful guys.
@user-rc5ho2dm4w hey thank you for this advice! We’re aware that if they’re left on for a long time that they can warp and stick on, I’ve started just using thinner ones as they’re cheaper!
You have some great crate-digging videos and your Grandad is quite the character. One thing I appreciate about videos like this is seeing the different sorts of titles people come across in their region/area, and how their prices vary. Some of those Doors albums with the OBIs would be really expensive here in the States. Conversely, I have found records here that would probably be highly sought after in the UK, such as a 1967 Small Faces Test Pressing.
Thanks for the comment Michael! You’re definitely right - he is a character! And yes it is crazy how depending on where you are affects the price on some of these things. It all depends on how hard it is to come across that record in a particular area I guess. I think I should’ve got that doors one for £28 though!
Hey Jake, great video! I'm seriously thinking about going to this on Saturday coming (30/4) also, who did that version of King of the Road that you've used? Love it! 😎
Unfortunately, I had to sell my record collection back in the early 2000s due to financial problems. I have been slowly collecting again for about 2 years. I know I will never get everything back, but I'm enjoying the hunt.
You’d be mortified to hear how I sold my entire Door’s vinyl collection years ago because I felt it was just a phase and grew tired of them. Of course, now I regret it.
Noooo! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard people who did something like this! Poppa Dave had all the rare prog and vertigo records but sold them off to buy Royal Daulton character jugs! Doubt those will come back into fashion.. 🤦♂️
This is fun to watch, enjoying it.
Your grandad is a dude,what a character 👍👍👍

Always! Thanks for watching 😊
I’m age 70 right now. All there was in the early days was reel-to-reel tapes and vinyl records.
Yes indeed! Do you still collect Alan?
sick vid mate
Appreciate it dude! Are you also a collector?
