I love it! All it really needs are the kit tyres and a few tweaks. Oil shocks would be a bonus, of course, but when I remember my first WPL models, with their terrible driveshafts, exploding gearbox casings and dreadful electronics, I'm delighted with the improvement in quality we've seen from WPL in recent years. If we'd seen an equivalent improvement from the bigger, better-established manufacturers, perhaps the battery box cover wouldn't keep falling off my Slash...
I was surprised how well mine managed sone rough ground beside our work carpark. I've got the metal driveshafts and wheel weights in now. So I'll try them at the weekend. (was going to last w/e, but didn't go out). Also some softer tires are on the way.
Oh and you found out one "defect" I would say. The shock mounts are just plastic "ball" pivots with no way to stop them popping off under strain. I plan to add screws and washers to prevent exactly what happened to yours at 7:07. I have some 2.5mm screws and am looking for some washers with a slightly bigger diameter than the pivot. (I'l prolly cut up some pop rivet heads and use the "brim" as a washer.
They significantly improved the modulation of the BC receiver, this is even better than the ones that comes with C74. It's a further improvement, from my observation, there seem to be 3 versions of the BC receiver. 1st gen is the one that you get when you buy their basic electronic pack which has steering rate and throttle rate, it has serviceable modulation. 2nd gen is the one that comes specifically with C74 which has the throttle rate replaced by drag brake, modulation wise, it is slightly better. 3rd gen is what we get with the C64-1 and C74-1, great modulation and drag brake. Compare the stock C74 and C74-1, the modulation is pretty noticeable.
This on is definitely built better than the tintop. The front end is super squeeky on mine, going to add some oil to see if i can get rid of that sounds.
Have purchased a few different wpls lately. This will be my next purchase for sure.🙂👍
this is a good one from WPL.

thats definitely a good idea to keep that from happening.

its good they keep the improvements up. I like this one the best. Even better modulation than the C64-1 and didn't cut out once on my run.

thinking of getting this instead of mn99s, do you have a recommended upgrades for this?
Tires would be a good upgrade...as I've purchased a few WPLs.Really does help.👍
