  • Hey Friends,
    This is a video I've been meaning to film for awhile now! I thought it'd be helpful to share our experience with flying on the Military Patriot Express flight to Guam. I know when we were pcsing I couldn't find any information on a PE flight. Hopefully this video is informative to those of you who are heading this way soon! Feel free to leave many any questions you may have below.
    XOXOXO,
    Caitlin Herber

    Thank you so much for this!! We were contemplating taking a circuitous flight and go on vacation in Hawaii flying commercial, but we didn't think about all these things that are made available on the Patriot Express. The last time we flew on the Patriot Express we had far fewer kids than now and went to Germany which was only a 10 hour flight. We'll be flying from GA (or SC if we visit home first) to Seattle. We had forgotten about the electronics and food that we certainly will need, and really didn't think about the flight length. This video helped us out tremendously!

    I realize that this is an older video, but what would have been nice is that if you had inserted some pictures or even a video of a PE aircraft when describing about it.

    Thank you for this video. I want to take my cat in-cabin (United only ships as cargo from Hawaii to Guam, I would need to file paperwork with both Guam and Hawaii), and apparently the PE is the only way to do that

      I didn't know that since I don't have pets. Thanks for sharing the information for others that may watch!

    Did TMO schedule you on the patriot express or did you have to request the patriot express through TMO?

    Great info! Thank you for this video. We are hoping to get spots on the patriot express since we’re bringing our cat. I saw it took you 37 hours total travel, but do you remember how long it took to fly from Seattle to Alaska and how long the layover was? What about the flight from Alaska to Guam?

      Shoot, it was so long ago now that I'm struggling to remember exactly but here's some rough estimates. Seattle to Alaska was 3-4 hours, layover in Alaska was at least two hours maybe more, & Alaska to Guam was 9ish hours. Hopefully that helps a bit!

      Thanks for getting back to me! I figured it was a long shot asking if you remembered, especially since you mentioned that it was the middle of the night!

    Thank you so much for this video! Do you remember how long you were in Alaska and do you have to take all your carry-ons off the plane as well while they re-fuel?

      I want to say we were in Alaska for like 3 hours. We did so much travel that day it's hard to say though. I ended up sleeping on the floor of the airport because I was so exhausted. We were able to leave all our belongings on the plane if we wanted!

    We are originally from Guam and have been stationed in the states for years. We found out about the patriot express and was hoping to get on when my husband has leave. Can I just ask how booked the flight was? Was a lot of people on board and trying to board? Thank you.

      When we flew on the PE it was still during COVID & not open to everyone, only to those families PCSing to the island. I know people who have used it recently to leave island though so it's definitely worth looking into & waaaay more cost efficient than commercial!

    Hello. Great video. Are patriot express flights and Space-A flights the same. Or is this scheduled through different means

    • @caitlinherber
      @caitlinherber  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The patriot express is used for most families PCSing to or from the island. For Navy, it's mandatory & they refuse to fly you commercial unless the dates don't match your timeline. It's cheaper for them to fly families this way. Any open seats are used for Space A. When we flew recently their we many people that utilized this. On the Anderson AFB Passenger Terminal website you can find directions on how to register or you can always call the terminal for assistance.
