sitting on the saddle again must of evoked some memories of the South Indian trip, really cool seeing this bike back on the channel
Thanks buddy, it’s been a pleasure and an excitement to get back on this bike
10:28 Hey simon, If you press the clutch and leave throttle to idle while moving you can change the modes on the fly by pressing the mode button and waiting for 5 seconds to lockin the selected mode
Excellent thanks for the tip 👍
About a month and I'll get mine!!!
Great bike, and what a great article you made!
Thanks
Thanks buddy, glad you enjoyed it. Plenty more to come
You won’t believe this but after I sent the last at lunch I’m sat in a crematorium at a friend’s funeral when my phone vibrates. Check it later and it’s a message from Smalley Cross. The bike is due within two days and I’m picking it up on Monday. Boom!! Complete with the touring screen 😮 Can’t wait
Fantastic news.. im Excited for you buddy. Happy days 👍🏍️💨💨💨💨
Love it love it love it!!!! Want one!!!!
Get one and join the club you won’t regret it 🏍️💨💨💨💨
Picked up my Kamet White last weekend. What a bike! Spot on review with your observations, I also own a R1300GS and this complements it well, 375 miles already.
That fantastic. It’s great how me can own 2 totally different bikes and get lots of fun out of them.
Buying one of these as a second bike next to my SF V2👍🏽 Hopefully the dealer throws in an Amy as a bonus😂
lol great bike buddy you won’t regret it. unfortunately there’s no warranty with Amy. 3 years on the 450 though 😂👍
Looks great can’t wait to see future content!
More to come! Thanks
Congratulations on the new bike can’t wait to see how it goes
You and me both! Exciting times 👍🏍️💨💨💨👍
Hi Simon, the bike's looking good and it's running well. We're just about to set off on Sunday morning on the new 450's to ride across the Roof Of India. We're in the same position. All the bikes are brand new and we'll be running then in on this ride. I'm arranging all the accessories to be sent to you directly from here in India. Engine guards, sump guard, radiator guard, tank bag, soft panniers, handle bar risers, hand guards and a few other goodies flung in there for good measure. You'll have the full adventure kit very soon.
Cheers mate.
Alex
Hi Alex,
Thanks for the update! It’s great to hear all the new bikes are ready for the adventure. I’m super excited to join you once again and ready to ride the 450 around the Himalayas
I really appreciate you arranging the accessories to be sent over from India. The viewers here are looking forward to these videos, the new royal Enfield Himalayan has generated some serious interest worldwide.
Good luck with the first run of 2024
Cheers,
Simon
Wow.New Bike.Looking Like a Wow
Thanks it sure is
I enjoyed your adventure in India and am looking forwards to all of the Himalayan content you mentioned…BIG thumbs up 👍
thanks for the following. It’s really appreciated 👍🏍️💨💨💨💨
Please do hit 70/75/85 miles per hour and tell me about the vibes. As an American, I’ll definitely have to take interstate to get to an off-road destination. Thanks.
I shall definitely do these test and bring them to the channel 👍🏍️💨💨💨💨
I shall definitely do these test and bring them to the channel 👍🏍️💨💨💨💨
Great bike. I'm up to 250 miles on Mine. First service booked for next week!. Handles like a dream. Even though running in you feel some punch there giving the throttle a slight twist.
It’s a fantastic ride I’ve just clocked 225 now and got my service booked in 2 weeks time. Happy days. Enjoy 👍🏍️💨💨💨
Great looking colour combination - can’t you get a block for the bottom of the side stand ? See them a lot on BMW GS models
The issue is with the main stand it would catch so probably not. Unless you take the centre stand off
Fantastic vid. 900km on mine so far. Too few have has too much to say about this bike. Value for money, can't be beaten. I normally would never buy a first model of anything, but this bike I knew I wouldn't be dissapointed. Yes it vibes but not deal breaker vibes. No worse than allot of other singles have ridden.
Well said 👍 Royal Enfield didn’t disappoint on thier 411 and they haven’t on the 450. It’s a bike that would suit a lot of people they just haven’t realised it yet 🏍️💨💨💨
I always enjoy you contents Simon, keep it up! This year the weather is odd, in Italy we're still having rainy days in mid june too. I look forward to sell my old xtz600 for getting a new himalayan. After your serie in India I tryed the bike in an off-road full day and it was perfect for my needs.
Well I’m glad you hear it’s not just us in the uk getting this crazy weather ☔️ if you would of asked me a few years ago I wouldn’t of gave the Himalayan 411 a second look but after riding it around the Himalayas it’s changed my opinion on these adventure bikes and now it’s just got even better with thr 450.. I’ve said all along it’s about the fun factor, and this bike offers that. I enjoy riding it more than multistrada now.
I’m tempted myself for the 450
You should you won’t regret it 👍🏍️💨💨💨💨
Definitely a better looking bike will it better than the old model.
After riding both bikes 411 & 450 in India 🇮🇳 I think this bike is far superior but that’s not to say the old one is still a very capable bike
Great video, I love the new Himalayan, such a beautiful bike and after watching your Indian adventure it can handle mixed terrain. I have been so tempted to get one but went for the Moto Guzzi V85TT instead.
Thanks buddy glad you enjoyed it. It’s a tough decision sometimes but the Guzzi is a great bike to. I’ve now got to make the decision of selling the Ducati which I never thought I’d be making this choice but I can’t see when il be rinding it now, but riding in India 🇮🇳 and the uk 🇬🇧 can be very different. So only time will tell. 👍
"Four weeks from deposit to collection!" -- I wish the same was for tubeless tyre versions.
Ordered my Hanle Black 'tubeless' last november and am still waiting for delivery. Enjoyed your India trip and 3 bike test so not surprised at your correct choice for a new bike. Despite the delay I have already received my order direct from India (ZANA kit) and for £130 the 7 items including postage was - black powder coated headlight and radiator guards, rear brake master cylinder and fluid container, larger rear rack, complete pannier/saddlebag mountings and a satnav holding bracket to fit behind the screen/above the display assembly. Looks like the Royal Enfield spares and accessories are on the same "slow boat from china, via India" and as much as I would like their smaller rally engine guard with sump protection it seems they are not even advising on a price let alone any availabilty. Looking forward to your updates and hopefully I get my bike this month?
I will be checking if I can raise the whole headlight assembly to match the version you tested in India - they have to use a higher hole on the mounting to allow the number plate underneath so assume you could move the unit up before choosing a larger screen.
Its seem to be the same story for the tubeless bikes but at least it’s given to time to pick out the accessories. Its will certainly worth the wait. I’m super pleased with mine. I might get the tubeless rims when there in stock in the uk. Lots of bits to buy first. Hope you get it soon 👍🏍️💨💨💨💨
I cancelled my order in the end as they just couldn’t give me a date for delivery for which I had paid in full last year. Shame as it looks a good bike but I just couldn’t be without a bike any longer at the time.
@@Trevelyan1971 I totally understand I would do the same 👍
Just hang in there and get the RE guards. I’ve seen 2 videos with aftermarket guards both with broken bike frames. One the engine fell right out.
@@flyingkiwi215 Have to agree - not going to put anything structural on the bike (IF it arrives by July!) except RE OE stuff, that Rally set just looks matched to the machine. Those other items I ordered are fine, well made and certainly well packaged for their delivery to uk. Probably no different to 'nippynorman' kit fitted to various bmw R1200's I've owned in last 20 years, luckily for me the late arrival not a problem, disappointing maybe, but the current 'keeper' is getting a few more miles on it before a service and new tyres anyway.
Great review especially as a comparison to the India trip, but I don’t believe there was no wind after that Sunday dinner 😂😂😂
Good point! lol 😂 👍💨💨💨💨
I was reading ride(? or was it bike?) magazine's review of the bike and they slated it as a pillion bike yet your pillion was really happy. As pillion also matters to me I think I'll have to see about a test ride with a pillion 'cause I'd just about written it off after their review. Also they dyno'd it and said it only had 28bhp and that it was way down on the triumph 400 motor.... It wasn't a glowing review...
It’s amazing with the magazine reviews, the adventure bike magazine has a fantastic review on it lol, my pillion loves it more than my 22K multistrada. Power wise it’s on par with the triumph. Have you watch my tour around India in the KTM vs triumph 400 vs himi 450? The Himi 450 is a great adventure bike for the money, back to basics is better for me
@@thatbikersimon I haven't seen your india tour, I'll have a look.
You might have put it back on my radar because of your pillion. There aren't a lot of pillion reviews out there. I'm not in a rush, still enjoying my meteor and my 22 year old triumph trophy 1200 but I would like to get back to just one bike eventually...
@@walt7518 check it out matey it might just show you some capability’s with the media reviews
Great stuff ! How did you import it from India ? Good old Alex !! All the best ah sorry see you bought it in uk ! nice with NK livery !
Thanks 👍 yes I had the challenge of putting the stickers on lol.
mine was a week as was in stock went for the poppy blue love the bike 800 miles in whats not to like
Fantastic news Malc 👍 enjoy 🏍️💨💨💨💨
Love your channel, can't wait to see the hymalayan episodes, I have the 411 and love it, just a fun observation, I time how long you can go in each episode before you mention your multi strarder, 5 min is the longest so far, lol, keep up the good work 👏
Thanks David, glad your enjoying the content. This might be the end of the multistrada now I’ve got this. I can’t see me riding it much now 👍
@thatbikersimon I really like the Ducati scrambler, have you tried one.
@@davidbrambill1335 only on the road.
4:54 hi Simon re the wait time for this bike I put a deposit on mine here in the UK in Derbyshire in November last year and I’m still waiting I went for the Kamet white with tubeless which is the issue 🤦♂️ great bike. I’ve ridden the demo like you two up almost 24 stones in weight and it was amazing!!
The Tubeless seem to be the issue with the waiting, hopefully it will come soon for you. I thought about buying the tubeless rims at a later date when there in stock(if they will fit straight on) I got this one from Smalley cross in Derbyshire. It’s certainly handles well with 2s up.
The dealer on London Road, Sheffield had a Kamet White tubeless in stock last weekend. Went in for a look. Hope this helps.
ordered my Kamet white Tubeless middle of April, pick it up fri 14th so 2 mths wait for me
That’s not so bad. Exciting time 🏍️💨💨💨💨💨
You just reminded me to chase up, so was meant to be May. They are now saying that the white tubeless is in the country so I am hoping it is definitely before the ABR festival ordered in March
There definitely rolling them out in the uk now. Hope you get it in time
@@thatbikersimon they called back and said it should be with them by the 20th so all systems are go
@@backontwowheels9469 wicked 👍🏍️💨💨💨💨💨
Seen 2 videos of afternarket crash bars causing the motorcycle frames to crack. One, the engine half dropped out. RE have had no failures with their accessories.
I’ve not seen this. I shall take a look for myself
It certainly looks the part
Cheers buddy 👍🏍️💨💨💨
@@thatbikersimon seriously considering one at the moment
@@timothybrockbank7474 come and join the party. It’s so versatile and don’t cost a lot of money in todays world of bike prices.
Hello, Simon; Congratulations for the delivery of Himalayan 450 🏍. so the bike you got in UK is still with Tubed tyres or is with tubeless support RIM ?
I heard from dealership here; that export ones could have the tubeless supported RIMs
Hey, thanks. 👍 this ones got the tubed tyres and rims, it looks the the weight was longer for tubeless rims. I wasn’t fussed about tubeless for now.
Unless you want one of the lower spec variants be prepared to wait for months.
I placed an order end of April for the Black with tubeless tyres. Was told 4 - 6 weeks originally, now being told early July if im lucky.
Very poor service and they may loose my order if it goes later than that
My Buddy ordered a black with gold wheels 450 and has only had to wait 2 days. Its the tubed bike but he’s not fussed about having tubeless rims
Hmm.. I think it's largely a result of the Houthis closing the Red Sea traffic... Stuff like these bikes have to go the long way around now.. 🤔
@@leifiseland1218 and I guess there is a big world wide demand
@@thatbikersimonThat's the issue. If you want tubeless, which I do, you have to wait. Dealer has offered other variants
You’ve cost me a fortune you bastard 😜.Since watching your Indian adventures I’ve tried a 450 Himmy and ordered a Hanle Black tubeless. I’ve also booked on Alex’s Himalayan tour for 2026 !! Time to save up.
lol it’s will be worth it.. its a great bike and Alex runs the ultimate adventure tours. Its an adventure of a life time. Give me a mention to him as it earns me some free whiskey 🥃 on the tour lol 👍
Hi Simon, great video and love the series in India 👌 you mentioned it took 4 weeks from placing a deposit was the model you got a tube or tubeless? I placed an order and deposit first week in April and my dealership still has no idea when it will be delivered!! With your contacts have you any idea when my order may arrive. Cheers 👍
Hi Chris, I’m guessing you’ve gone tubeless? I’ve got tubes in which I may swap out later down the line. My mate got his black and gold wheels in 48hrs from ordering (tubes in) I think everyone that has gone tubeless has got a good wait on their hands unfortunately. I was told end of June but it came early. Its just pot luck the dealerships don’t know themselves when the bikes are coming in.
Thanks Simon 👍
No pricing or availability yet in Canada.
Oh really.. why is that?
There are so many reviews of this bike most are totaly conflicting . Some say great others say crap engine .To tall ???? We have been talking for a while now and i am completey confused. 411 / 450 ???? for me its a lot of cash with no income and limited spend . This is the biggest descision that i will make re what bike comes next . Still not sure . You said that the 411 is under powered for two up ?? the 450 revs hard to keep up the speed. Thanks for your stream Simon
The 450 is a shorter stoke engine designed for rev’ing. The long stroke 411 is more like a tractor, designed for low rev pulling but not much power at speed.
Both bike are very capable of doing the job. You can buy a second hand 411 realy cheap now. I appreciate there’s lots of different reviews out there. Any that are associated with RE I wouldn’t watch them as there on a contract with RE. Il hopefully do a good comparison on both bikes soon and that might help your decision. 🏍️💨💨💨💨
I’m in the Philippines (Manila), put deposit down 2 weeks ago, delivery expected July BUT not sure it’s any good for pillion with gear as I’m now thinking about V85TT….thoughts?
It’s a perfectly capable bike with a pillion and luggage, even off roading
❤❤❤❤❤❤
🏍️💨💨💨💨
😮😮😮😮😮
👍🏍️💨💨💨
The other issues that i can see online are that 450 is not great of road unlike the 411. 450 I think that there are a lot of people in the same position as myself ??? To heavy to tall high reving engine and unproven unlike the 411.
I can see why people would say that but I don’t think the new 450 is a very strong off road bike. I think the tyres might let it down. That’s something I will test very soon
Standard tyres are rubbish. Needs 50/50's.n
@@mark.e.p I’ve just ordered a set of tyres not sure how they will fair on the bike, but let’s see 👍🏍️💨💨💨
Question. This or v-strom 650? Why 🤔🙏👍
I can’t answer that question with a honest opinion, just because I’ve not riden the 650 V strom
Maybe the Royal Enfield engineers can do some research into the vibes at higher speeds the old saying there’s always room for improvement to ward off the competition ,jimmy Australia
I think it’s just single cylinder engines to be fair. Their all line it at higher rpms
there are 0 vibes after 120kmph. Sweet spot is 120k to 135kmph
How bad are the vibes through the bars? My Versys 650 MK2 makes my hands go numb so I’m looking for an alternative motorcycle.
I don’t find the issue with the bars much only the foot pegs, it’s when your up in the high revs it’s gets a bit much, but I don’t tent to ride it like that.
Hi think cfmoto 450 will be not the Enfield. 300 miles first service 😲 should be 600. Is the engine that bad
I’m not sure how to answer that question, I’m not a engineer, just a man that rides the bikes. I’m sure the CF moto will be a good bike but from what I’ve seen of the other bikes the quality in materials isn’t fantastic but that does reflect in their price
Everyone says it s excellent on fuel, but nobody offers specific figures 🙄
This is a test I will perform in the very near future.. stay tuned 🏍️💨💨💨
@@thatbikersimon awesome. Be well and always standing as we say in greek :)
"One of the best seĺling bikes worldwide", there's someone completely detatched from reality. Even in the Indian market nobody buys them, the 350's sell around 60,000 per month, the Himalayan in the low 2,000's. In Africa nobody buys any RE's and the rest of the world looks similar.
Exactly one of not the number one ☝️
