    My new dentist just told me about this! I have suffered for years with TMJ pain and had no idea this is why. I am starting to work with a PT and can't wait to see/feel rhe improvements. Your channel is so helpful and informative! Thank you!

    Great info. The obvious next question is: what do we do about all this? How do we actually correct the problem? You mentioned that avoiding clenching will prevent further irritating the TMJ and making the issue worse, but there aren't really any solutions to fix the issue or correct posture in this video. Are you aware of any? Thanks.

      Orthodontist work, splint, correcting the bite issues should do the trick. Splint works the same way the orthotics work for your feet, you should see instantaneous improvements once you find your correct bite and tongue posture, neck muscles will release.

    I second all of the other comments; what can be done about it? Besides red stickers to keep tounge on roof. Any other solutions?? Follow up video with more techniques and how/why they work? *subscribed to your channel. Thanks for the informative breakdown.

    Thanks for sharing this info, I've had torsion on my body for years which often causes my SI joints or pelvis to get stuck which makes sports and most training very difficult, for example deadlifts would lead to tightness due to uneven loading.
    I'll then get an osteopath treatment and immediately I'm even again, no torsion, can deadlift and it feels beneficial, can go surfing and perform much better. But then within weeks or even days the torsion returns and since I work as a surfing coach it's so frustrating! Have tried retraining my feet and movement patterns with multiple trainers with limited improvement, then lately the Jaw as a possible cause occurred to me because some simple Yoga tongue movements I did really loosened my neck and shoulder tension.
    I had both my LHS wisdom teeth out years ago due to no room but I still have both RHS ones, the back of my jaw on RHS has not much room and the bottom wisdom sits much higher than the other teeth. I know I have a crossbite and my jaw slants from lhs down to rhs, my right shoulder sits higher than left, and my left hip sits higher than right and often gets jammed up.
    So my question is, are there things I could do to get my jaw and then hopefully overall posture more even (proper tongue posture does seem to help balance it), or would I need to seriously consider having my RHS wisdom teeth removed? I imagine that wouldn't necessarily be a magic fix anyway!

    Great video and great content. I got the functional activator last year and it's been amazing for my tongue posture. Having my tongue at the roof of my mouth seems so natural now, I don't know how it wasn't like that before. I'd love the insoles to correct foot inbalances from sports related injuries over the last few years

    This is me to a T😮‍💨. My jaw is crooked, in constant pain, pops everytime I chew and feels super tight. Effects my shoulders daily. 😫 Wish I had a solution.

    amazing video. What do you think about wearing splint long term with height and then after a couple years the person can extrude the teeth to have them fill the new height?
    Also some people have a pretty gnarly angle with their jaw. I wonder how the effects everything.

    This video is very informative, but I have an underbite issue. I wish she had talked about a case with the lower jaw sliding ( left or right ) and protruding on one side ( left or right). One side of my upper teeth lands right on the lower teeth, and the other side sticks out.

    How do you stop clenching at night? Even botox doesn’t work on me

  • @Andreylarin1
    @Andreylarin1 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    You say everything correctly but then advise to position tongue on the palate which itself leads to TMD and clenching because as soon as you move your tongue up the jaw goes up and back. So at the end you contradict yourself.

    Other than to stop clenching, and correcting tongue posture, how can someone ultimately fix this situation of having a lack of oral vertical dimension?

      @Poire Tartin this right here
      some of us have nose deviations so bad that we cannot breathe through them. Go see an awesome reputable ENT surgeon and get it fixed. Deviations can and usually impede the turbinates ability to “cycle” properly. This leads to turbinate swelling and even more breathing issues. Sleep will improve for many. Fight or Flight and anxiety will lessen and clenching will dramatically reduce at night due to being able to breathe without (hopefully) tension.
