I love how Speed doesn’t take his chances into thinking that there’s at least 1 driver that isn’t out there to take his ass out of the race and just wants to race, full stop.
I mean when your star shines so bright but for the wrong reasons and you have a bounty placed on your head of course every other racer would want you out to ensure you don't even get close to the finish line. If I was Speed I would do anything to get these a**hole drivers out of my way just cause they thing I am some young inexperienced punk.

If you had your money on another race you went and got it back and betted on Speed before the race started!!!! Love the beginning of the GP
I always thought of that too. Just saw Kentucky Derby and it was awesome as the horses are butting heads against each other. Cars should do the same thing.
I adore this movie man, and I don't care if I get hate for it. The editing, the music, the action, the way things are shot is still unlike any movie I've ever aeen period.

Gray Ghost is one of my favourite characters, he races fair like speed and doesn’t plan to hurt him as well and basically in the locker room (a deleted scene) he warned speed about the bounty hunting him down
I don’t think the scene was deleted I remember seeing that scene I know what your talking about. I had the Blu-ray when I was a kid and it was one of my favorite serious type scenes
I just read the script for the movie and the Musha motors driver shaving his neck came to try and take out Speed in the locker room but Gray Ghost cut him off and Gray Ghost warned speed about the bounty, technically Gray Ghost saved speeds life, Gray Ghost had more scenes and Dialogue in the Grand Prix race
T-180 cars function similar to that of a shopping cart with a Jet engine…. But the back wheels lock up using a pedal in the bottom where the Gas, Brake, and Jet throttle…. Once stepped on, the back wheels unlock using spring technology that keeps the wheels locked in place…. The jet booster can hurdle them into 400 MPH if given a long enough straight…. The cars as extremely light and use power cells along with fuel based engines to support normal acceleration…. The axels are built with thinner pieces to make the car much lighter and the bodies are made of composite material…. The computers are a “Dragster Power Unit” that doesn’t waste time giving power to the entire system fluidly…. THESE cars CAN be BUILT…. Just without the jet thruster….
That funky 360 degree all wheel steering might be some trouble to piece together, though. Seemingly the cars have the drive to the main wheels mounted past the suspension, and the wheels barely attached at all, with no axles to speak of - unless it disconnects each time the wheel needs to turn, though given the back wheels' resistance to it sometimes, that might also make sense.
This movie is a amazing film! Definitely my favorite racing movie of all time! This defines a path to greatness by doing what you love,being the best at the one thing that'll create a legacy✊
I only just realized that the Grand Prix is the only track race in the movie we see the start of. Thunderhead and Fuji were already partway through when we were watching it.

And everyone else who ever tried to race here before was killed. That means you must be very careful."

In a crash the driver can activate the quiksave, or the computer can detect the car is in a critical state and force eject just like we saw what happened with Snake Oiler at Thunderhead and Cannonball at GP.

I don’t know how many times I’ve watched this movie, because I’ve said this many times before, Speed Racer is the best Live Action Anime Adaptation, and I’m happy it’s getting the recognition it rightfully deserves
The only way this movie could be more over-the-top, is if Dom Toretto himself participated in this race. Seriously, for the Japanese actors working on this film, it must been like Christmas....

IIRC the entire premise of the movie's setting is that the bubble foam ejector thing basically removed most to all danger from driving, which is what allows these crazy death races to the possible, let alone legal, in the first place.
Unique and dynamic camerawork. Intense colors for days. Emotional investment in the characters and Speed's story arc. A positive message. Incredibly stylized visuals that evoke the spirit of the original source material. And of course those whiplash, head-spinning, adrenaline-pumping action sequences during the races. Also, well cast/acted/directed/written. Superb use of the musical score. Hearing the original Speed Racer theme song as a recurring motif punctuating some of the film's emotional high points is masterful, and it enhances our experience of the story as it unfolds on the big screen. Honestly, I saw this film with no expectations and it turned out to be one of the best and brightest cinematic surprises in years. **Chef's kiss** 😘🤌🏾🤌🏾

I have a few myself, including the Mach 5, the Mach 6, the GRX, the Shooting Star (Racer X's street car) Taejo's street car, Snake Oiler's street car, the Augury (Racer X's T-180), and Hydrophiidae (Snake Oiler's T-180). I used to have the Mach 4, Delila's street car, Seppuku (Kakkoi Teppodama's T-180), and Fumee (Gray Ghost's T-180) but I sadly lost them years ago.

The Casa Cristo is where the real danger and death comes from because there are no fuzzy balls because they aren't in T-180s
