@@royliber3824 I believe they should have ended the franchise with Furious 7. It has the perfect ending 🙂🤝 Fast and Furious is nothing without Paul Walker except Tokyo Drift
Walker had a great acting style where he would usually come off as pretty reserved and introverted, so in the brief occasions where he vents emotion, it’s absolutely hilarious. It gets me every time when he gets mad with the navigation system and yells “Would you shut up!?”
Later on in the movie when he elbows Braga in the face for laughing or in the first movie when he slams the laptop before using the 100 pound NOS tank. He really gets into it.
This race proved that Brian is the cleanest racer in the entire franchise. Respectful, aware of his surroundings, and clean in tactics even if it meant losing. And it showed how clean he was, that when the cards were already on the table in that race, he relied only on his skill and his car, without crashing, or cheating. While the other guys (including Dom), tried to win by any means, even if it could put their lives at risk. Brian was definitely on the same level as Dom. Only Dom... didn't give a shit about safety in general.
I always figured Brian was on Dom's level even during their first race... Brian wasn't supposed to beat Dom, if he had he wouldn't have gotten into the crew. But losing the race and "saving" Dom from the cops gets him to like Brian which is why they become friends.
People always say 4 is where the movies went from racing to action, but I tend to disagree. This movie still was car-centric, involving this race and the drug-smuggling race against the helicopter. The R34 and the Charger were both present. 5 is when the movies made the switch, but 1-4 are the real F&F racing films.
Yes, 1-4 had the street/underground racing, although 1-5 together are perfect and a solid movie series. I enjoy 6-X too but I can see why people think its overkill.
I'd even say that the real switch was FF6. F5 was also a very car-centric movie, since it made a big emphasis on car betting, and street racing. Also, 5 is a direct sequel to 4, since the 4th movie was a very open-ended movie, which 5 covered. The real ending was the 5th movie to me.

I really love the 10 second car talk that Arturo Braga gave to Dom, Brian, Alex and Malik in this scene. We all know that Brian was the real winner of the Audition Race, maybe that's the main reason why Dom let Brian win the Million Dollar Quarter Mile in Fast Five. Dom wasn't just giving him a baby gift, he wanted Brian to push his racing skills to its fullest. Plus, they didn't have any NOS Tanks to use to give their cars a boost, so it was a fair race. I was 21 years old when Fast and Furious 4 was in theaters. A lot of fans say the Fast and Furious stopped being about Street Racing, but I think that this was the last movie where Street Racing played a major role was still part of the plot. After Fast Five, the writers showed one or two Street Racing scenes to remind the fans that they didn't forget where the franchise came. The NOS Button Steering Wheels disappeared after the 4th film, and they returned in Fast and Furious 10 for the street race in Brazil. Justin Lin's directing style is the best, and he did a great job with Tokyo Drift, Fast and Furious 4, Fast Five, Fast and Furious 6 and Fast 9.
