- I unbox a Spongebob CRT, made in 2003.
Join me, for my 1st unboxing video, Battletoad OVerload style! CRTs that still have the box are becoming increasingly rare.. I was lucky to have picked up this specialty CRT with the box and most (or all?) of the contents a couple of summers ago for $20.
I beat Battletoads on as many CRTs as possible. To honor and remember them forever, before they are gone forever.

Grew up with this exact TV, I even had a matching DVD player, I remember playing SNES and Gamecube on it, but I mostly remember this thing falling off the dresser and onto my head more times than I'd like to admit. Those old CRTs were heavy
Wtf how light WAS it man even the well ig the hd crts that were flat faced are a lot thicker in front to withstand atmospheric pressure for I was thinking of over 90 or 120 pounds easily upwards of maybe even up to 304 or 445 hell proto 50 inch sets by mga/mitsubishi or jvc iirc purportedly were the bigest ever direct view not rptv crts made and wieghed well over 700 or 750 pounds.. and had to be built onsite and required a notably poisonous lamp well poison that is if it broke ...to be used but burned out with 50 hours use so was scrapped of an idea.
Ooh speaking of remotes I looove the for nostalgia sake alone letalone for feeling of unique sony remote RM-Y187 model number of remote.
Spongebob is really funny and clever🎉 I m glad to discover his has his own ctr 🎉 tv. Nice color.
Xooh watch the episode on this tv of him buying a flat panel tv to play in the box.. lol depsite oof zi mean a flat screen tv for flat panel would not fit patrick in it. Just sb because itd be rectangle not sqaure.

I remember having a Disney Pixar Cars TV that was really similar.
When I was 7 I went shopping with my grandmother and she bought me this TV. When we got back home my parents made her return it.
Great friend! I’m still surprised though that fresh out of the box the CRT still makes that hissing sound
Merely isthe static from the tuner.. if not pure signal is jad it would on any tv but nowdays they put in a filter for pleasure of not hearing a loud hiss to startle one etc.
Btw itd be a startpe as a kid if it occasionally did for a few secs do the hiss fwiw by fact that it would be loud or not expected as I luckily had only sets that took a few secs before activating the blue screen/eliminate static sound feature but still allowed it for the brief few secs onoy long neougj to grab remote an turn down the volume tbh..
I am getting this tv for Christmas.
Nice find, That has a pretty wacky control screen but I guess that's a great party piece for them

I actually had this TV and i think a matching DVD player 10 years ago during my spongebob phase when i was 8 or 9, unfortunately it got dropped during a move. I wasnt too bothered back then but now days i wish it didnt get dropped as i didnt realize how cool these TVs were

Congrats on 600! I came across this strange Strawberry Shortcake CRT...Not sure if it's the same manufacturer, but I dig the style and compact nature of the design. Have you ever seen an SS variant before?

I had one like this, emerson brand, and the remote was a bit cheaper, but ot had a built in DVD drive
Here's my gripe about this video. You didn't play a SpongeBob game on it and it would've been fitting. Really a no brainer plus the TMNT CRT TV video where you played a 1980s TMNT game on a 4Kids 2003 TMNT TV is really jarring. Do you even have a PS2, Xbox or GameCube?

My sister had one of these in her room i remember i use to watch cartoons and movies on it, got rid of it a long time ago now though
8:13 hmm those back av ports are clearly in place of where a scart port would go if this was european. which leaves me to wonder if they planned to bring this over to europe at some point?

BTW it was pretty cool that the tv came with the antenna because analog antennas are too impossible to find on ebay and every else
And if you were in a certain area then you could could get low powered analog stations

Lmfa 1:50 hehe that made me laugh as I used to like to be annoying be declaring for health it is best to listen with no headphones on for safety but to watch tv at maximum volume... without being turned up to the point of risking actual damage to the tv speakers or the hearing of the user etc,..

That is a 4k tv I can SURELY say I know what I am talking about and that you can beileve that THAT is a definetely 4k tv fwiw lmfao., nah jk thats more for retro gaming or even if ya di nit care if it in progressivem ode then I say a great al around tv just remember the dvr/atsc tuner fwiw if you DO use most tv crt sets fwiw., as only iirc certain sony and other brands of HD crt sets or standard but 27 imch or larger between like 2004?and onwards model years inckuded atsc as that was not required for us sets under 36 inches until 2006 or 2007... oh but that is only needed if you ALSO use an antenna ftw of you do but otherwise if just as an all around set or even for videogames therevis frankly no need to use a atsc tuner for that is only for watching with a tv antenna.. not needed for hdmi to rca/composite adapting.
