I started driving fully four months ago, and it was not easy. People don't use signals, or their lights don't work. And people love to tailgating .

You are correct my friend. And what strategies are you putting in place to deal with other people not signalling and people that are tailgating you? All the best, Cheers Rick

zipper merge does work if vehicles in both lanes keep a space in front them. the problem is most people are too clumsy to be able to merge smoothly, even at regular highway junctions. they get fixated on trying to use the space that's under another vehicle...

Every driver has to do it, or no one does it. And when asked in a poll on the community tab, more than 1/2 of respondents said they didn't know what a zipper merge was. As you said, most people don't have the skills need to merge smoothly. Therefore, it's simply NOT ever going to work. All the best, Cheers Rick

What are these 3 things youtube does not like? I found all your videos extremely helpful as a new driver. Driver instructors do not talk about the stuff you do. I feel like every new driver who wants to be a safe driver as well, should be watching you.

I’m a commercial driver, and I am so used to inconsiderate people/part time drivers. Being cut off going to slow on freeways. And I have implemented that in my normal car life cussing up a storm. I consider myself a defensive driver but my fiancé considers me an aggressive driver. Because I cuss out loud and call others idiots. What can I do to help calm myself down?

Thanks for your comment and great question. Think of it like this: "it's not a matter of IF it's going to happen, but WHEN it's going to happen." Believe it or not, I find smiling helps a lot when other drivers and road users do something goofy. After to smiling, I say, "have a nice day." My tone is usually sarcastic, and then I let them go and have their crash some where else. I find that we get emotional when our reality doesn't meet our expectations. If you expect it and know it's going to happen, I'm confident that's be calmer when driving. All the best, Cheers Rick

Anyone who gets road rage should NOT be driving PERIOD!!!

If that were the case, then I suspect that driving population would be 1/2 of what it is now my friend. All the best, Cheers Rick

Most of these road ragers don't have license or insurance, they drive fast and reckless because they have nothing to lose . The ones who care about driving safe have to deal with these animals.

No people who do that are ill tempered and hot headed regardless if they have that piece of plastic or not. No license is going to tame an ill tempered hot headed jerk.

I just consider everyone on the road to be blind, deaf, toddler aged, zombies with anger management issues. They can't help being themselves. I pretend I'm amongst a bunch of zombies. It's had to get mad at zombies. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @smartdrivetest

Interesting thinking. I suspect I could bet upset at a Zombie - especially if there are a whole bunch of them overpowering me and wanting to eat my brains. All the best, Cheers Rick
