Absolutely.. I have used Vanilla Android, OxygenOS, MIUI but OneUI seems better on paper and hands-on. Moreover, the animations are natural. OxygenOS no doubt is faster in comparison but I find the design language of OneUI to be natural.

@Nathan Adamczuk ah yes I had the ace 2e which was very similar. Ironically the notification bar and setting and menus were black so technically it had dark mode 7 years ago. Not sure why they got rid of that in Samsung experience.

Biggest difference being that since One UI 2 is part of Samsungs update to Android 10, dark mode is now a system wide feature that developers can take advantage of. In Android 9 dark mode was basically exclusive to the system UI and Samsung apps. Now thanks to dark mode being a OS level feature any dev can make their app dark mode aware and have it auto change between light and dark mode with your phone. Probably my favorite thing about Android 10, and thankfully pretty much all the major apps and even most smaller ones are dark mode aware.

@@leonellthelion Oxygen OS isn't exactly stock Android. It's close for sure, which def has its benefits. Like very quick OS upgrades. But Oxygen OS has some nice features added to it, including some I'd love to see in One UI. Such as how you can customize the UI. imgur.com/a/ogfBHsx You can easily change the systems accent color, change the shape of the quick toggle buttons, system font (you can apply a font downloaded from any source), and apply an icon pack which can be downloaded from anywhere (we can apply icon packs but they must come from Samsung's theme store). Basically, it's really easy to create your own theme if you want. Samsung has an app (in the Galaxy Store) that looks promising called "Theme Park" but it's kind of weird, if it would just let me go in and pick the system colors, I want for my theme that would be great.
Oxygen OS has other things though like a built-in ability to hide any documents behind a pin/password (it's nowhere near as feature packed as "Secure Folder" though), gaming focused stuff etc. Along with a handful of other small additions, it strikes a nice balance between stock Android and adding useful features IMO.

One UI is amazing, but seriously one of the things I love about iPhone are the animations. And UI 2 brings that. What I also love from iPhone is longer support with major OS updates.

It's going to come to the S8. Newer phones will get it first and older phones like the S8 will get it a few months later. Of course if you can't wait there are plenty of mods that will come out to replicate it and do a better job before that you could always try. That's the real benefit of Android

The newer phones r optimized to run one ui 2 compared to the older models, like the S8 which find the one ui heavy to run on.
@Nuno Herdeiro maybe not. It already got one ui, so the 2nd one might not be possible. Again we still have to wait for samsung to officially announce it.

We should be because they are releasing this update much faster then usual and I starting with One UI 2.0 phones will get update for more than 2 years.

Replacing TouchWiz UI was the best decision Samsung ever took!

@@oolongTea295 Samsung notes already has a dark mode for a few weeks now. Update the app through the Galaxy Store. You need to have night mode enabled so it switched to the dark mode
