I actually can’t believe how good you’ve made this look when it’s just MDF. It now looks like a high end piece of furniture. Just goes to show that with a bit of vision and hard work, anything is possible. Good job Angie xx
That quarter sawn oak is amazing. Immediately makes it look like an antique. I’m looking at my antique oak furniture and the wood looks the same. I grew up calling this “tiger oak”.
The detail that no one seems to be noticing is how you added more pulls so each "drawer" has its own -- makes the illusion of many thin drawers that much more convincing. It really does look like an antique piece now -- the veneer looks gorgeous.
Thank you! I’ve had many people saying “too many pulls”, not realizing that if this were a REAL map cabinet, each drawer would have at LEAST one pull, and often two! So I very much appreciate the fact that you can see what I was going for here. :-)
You made a silk purse out of a sow's ear! Thanks for all your inspiration and the Woodworkers Guild. My husband died, and while I know how to use all the equipment in the shop, I know diddly squat about their maintenance needs. And little things like fixing the broken table saw height adjustment.💚💚💚
Hi Angie. Great to see you back in action. Nachos has turned into a really handsome cat. And another show-stopping restoration from you. Thank you so much.
The future owner will thank you for the touch up paint. Could you make a video on how to touch up little dings in new refurbished furniture? I'm forever putting little nicks in furniture and hate how it looks. Many thanks for considering this topic. Edit - please share future bunny furniture. 😊
As I mentioned in the video - I plan to do a whole video on the bunny furniture so no worries there. As for fixing dings etc in new furniture - that's not really my focus and it would depend completely on both the damage and what the piece was made of. Thanks so much for watching!
Wow! You increased the original value of that piece 1000-fold. If there's anyone who can make a silk purse out of sow's ear, it would be you. Another amazing piece.
'Rog! Rabbits! There's rabbits!. Never mind the pea flakes, get through here now! Aw! You've missed them. What?! Rog! Rog! Now she's working on MDF! And she's spreading butter on it! What's going on?!' To say that Transcend is a confusing emotional rollercoaster for a certain small rodent is no exaggeration. It's why I won't let him watch any horror films fronted by hell's gatekeeper, David Attenborough. However, the appearance of wood veneer (and a few sprigs of curly-leaf parsley) restored piggie equilibrium and together we marvelled at your transformation of a fairly unprepossessing piece of hygroscopic wood substitute. Another winner.
Oh my goodness Roger.... "horror films fronted by hell's gatekeeper, David Attenborough" I'm dying of laughter right now. I'm glad the sweet boy was able to enjoy it and tell him to keep his eyes open for future bunny furniture being built that could also be used by extraordinary rodents. 😉❤️
Oh, to be inside your head while you're thinking out what and how to transform each new project would be amazing. Your creativity is second to none. Absolutely Stunning Angie. BRAVO
Love it! I found myself going onto TH-cam for the past two weeks and saying to myself “Ugh! I need more Angie videos!” You didn’t disappoint! (You never do!) ❤
Very beautiful Angie. I like the fact you'll change items (adding wood front pieces) to increase thier beauty and value so others will cherish them for years to come.
It went from flat and cheap looking...to the star of the show, WOW!!! your work is unbelievable, I have been following you for years and you still surprise me with the quality of work you do, Angie!
Love that quarter sawn oak on the drawers - each piece has a beautiful story and since this is such a humungous cabinet, it’s like reading a favorite novel every time it comes into view. Brilliant.
Wow the oak panel you made really elevated this piece and the way you did the stain just made it look even better and not one note…what another amazing piece…well done Angie
AMAZING!!! I am always in awe, but today, I am speechless. Good thing I can type!! You are a master, and I hope you can get top dollar for all of the work you have put into this piece. Always a pleasure to watch!
Oh, my gosh, Angie, that's beautiful. Your explanation of what you're doing is always easy to understand. The bunny was so sweet AND the project is kitty approved. Keep doing great things and entertaining us at the same time. Thanks with love, Dave and Amy
Angie what an incredible job you have done on this piece... whole other level... My mouth actually dropped at the reveal. You truly have a gift. I hope you have an offer soon because this piece needs to be out there making more peoples jaw drop. Congratulations. ❤❤
As a renovator and carpenter who has been working in this profession for several years, I have enjoyed your ideas and creativity in this restoration video. I hope your path will be accompanied by more ideas and techniques for us who are interested in furniture restoration.🤍💚
You did a fantastic job! One little thing : the pulls that you used are too busy and too many, I prefer the original design there. But again that is me. Brava!!
I like the new pulls better than the original ones. You could even put labels in them (might have to loosen the screws first). Even if you don't put labels in them, the look that you could do that makes sense with that many drawers.
Angie does wonderful work and I have learned so much watching her videos. I appreciate her honesty in that she is still learning new things too. Her style and delivery are real and genuine and enjoyable to watch. Thanks Angie!!
Omg the moment you adhered those wood pieces on! I could see what you were going for. Angie as always love your videos. If you haven’t heard it today you are amazing!
I've said it before and I'll say it again.....Magic, pure and absolute magic....You're so freakin' AWESOME!!!! Never get tired of the inspiration. Thank you!!!!!
Hello Angie, that piece looks like a million dollars. It really does look like an expensive piece. You really are the master, well, of anything to do with wood. Congratulations sweetie. Give those 2 beautiful babies a cuddle from Janice. So adorable.
Hi Angie, great to have you back . You and your fur babies have been missed. How anyone could take something so mundane and turn it into something so elegant well, I am not lost for words I can think of too many, you are artistic, creative, and your attention to detail superb. A pleasure to watch as always. Maria
Your work is so good and I am thrilled that you are expanding your knowledge into the area of woodworking. I’m sure this will take you to the next level.
Awesome work Angie. I love how you upcycled this piece from frumpy to fabulous!! Your creative solutions for stain and paint blending were as important as your choice to veneer the drawer fronts. You have SO MUCH talent. ❤
Oh my!!!! Angie, you continue to challenge yourself learning new techniques and experimenting. You are definitely a master of your craft. This piece looked somewhat sterile from the color and the size. You transformed it into a timeless piece with character and classy style. I love it.❤ You have a true gift. Fabulous piece.🎉🎉🎉
Came out looking amazing! Love quarter sawn oak with enough color to tone down the orange! The paint is a perfect compliment to the “aged” oak.. awesome!
There is another TH-camr in Nova Scotia named Shannon Makes that I think you could do an amazing collaboration with! She has a large house she bought full of antiques that need restoration. I would love to see the two of you work together.
How talented is this women you ask? Watch this video!! I tell you all the time but, this omg. I'm going to be moving again in a few mnths and starting from scratch. You inspire me so much redo my found pcs to what I'm going to love. Did I say I love your channel ?? ❤❤❤
Beautiful transformation! My sweet hubby brought home a shelving unit with mdf's for our cold (food) room. I couldn't tolerate the smell plus I worried it would affect my food storage (which includes home-made ferments). I sent him back to the store for real wood. Our food room is a happy place now.💖
That was an excellent restoration - the khaki green and the antique oak looking drawer fronts and the brass hardware, MWAH! One of my favourite combinations, gives it a 1940s feel! :) 👍🏻
Oh Angie. Stunning just Stunning. You turned a plain Jane into a piece of BEAUTY. your vision for remodelling is AMAZING. Well done indeed well done. Bravo👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
1) I'm so glad to now have the phrase "map cabinet" in my lexicon because I'm in the market for one and am having difficulties because I didn't know what to search for. 2) I hope whomever gets this piece sets up a hidden camera just in case a guest gets nosey and tries to open the in between "drawers". That'll be so funny.
Angie, lovely work as always! As a suggestion, would mark in pencil the face you DONT want to glue. You sand after drying anyways and the pencil will come off and you wont mix up which side is which. Love the mix of dark color and wood. Jay
Angie you have grown so much over the years. Your skills are phenomenal! I have so much respect and admiration for you. That crappy looking mdf is a shining star after all of your hard work and skill! ❤
Oh my goodness refacing the drawer fronts turned this piece into a high end beauty! I love the look of the wood drawers with the gorgeous paint color! The drawer pulls look fantastic and gives that old rustic look a really nice punch! You did a fabulous job making this a awesome beautiful piece! 😊❤
You pay so much more attention to detail than any other flipper I've seen. This piece turned out perfect! Nice to see your supervisors show up and give their approval.
Sumptuous, as usual! If I were renewing furniture pieces I would definitely take up the offer to subscribe to the woodworking forum. It sounds wonderful. This piece and others on your channel reinforce my belief in your understanding of the relationships between functional design, aesthetics, and production cost management. That, along with the fact that you are thinking of designing your own pieces, caused the Memphis Movement return to mind. Not many people have heard of it per se but would recognize the iconic pieces that came out of it. It was actually a school of industrial designers’ tongue-in-cheek rebellion against the mindless “variations on a theme” practice of putting anything and everything in a black box-VCRs, videotape cassettes, tuners, CD players, storage units for the media, radio tuners, amplifiers, stereo speakers, seating, coffee tables, lamps, desks, computers, printers, etc., ad nauseam. Memphis pieces were designed to bring playfulness and whimsy back into everyday objects in our lives (I treated myself to a neglected Richard Sapper Alessi 9091 Chrome, Brass, & Copper Whistling Teapot, which I restored to almost new condition!) I saw a number of the pieces in an exhibit in the early 1980s, I can attest that the level of craftsmanship and detail that went into designing and fabricating these required artisans who would have to have had your particular skills, talents, and expertise. For more information, check out this introduction on Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memphis_Group
Another stunner! There is something about the combination of charcoal paint and the warm wood tones that just sings! The variations in tone is a great touch and lifts the piece to give it even more character!
I notice you and many other woodworkers on TH-cam use solvent based contact cement. Personally I’m a big fan of the latex based product. Unlike the solvent based cement it is not removable by applying heat. It actually bonds stronger by doing that. The open time is very similar and the fumes are a lot easier to take. I’ve had great success with 3M’s product. Nice work.
Wow, Angie! This is one of the coolest pieces I’ve ever seen you do. It’s very old now and high end and probably really valuable, too. I’m so impressed by the veneer that you made yourself!!! Truly, this is a grand cabinet, to fill with treasures and specimens and oddities from your travels to far-off places. This one just fires up my imagination. And that’s what a great redesign should do. Absolutely fantastic!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It’s pretty easy once you’ve been around it a short time. I also opted for these pulls so that people could add a label to each drawer if they wanted to. Might help tell them apart easier, but it’s not hard once you open and close them a few times.
Amazing transformation!! The paint color, the stain, the handles, it all came together to transform this blah mdf into a beautiful statement piece anyone would be happy to have in their home. 👏👏👏
Your pieces are always gorgeous and so extra!!! You never do anything plain (that’s not the right word…lol). You always go the extra mile Angie! Beautiful cabinet! 🥰🥰🥰
Really love what you did with this one Angie, MDF is so boring...the drawer fronts look fantastic , each one is different enough for the next to complete the illusion...bunny and kitty time was a bonus!!
You never cease to amaze me, Angie! The staining technique was very interesting, and made the finished drawer fronts look great. But, your own veneer?!? Wow. Wonderful transformation
You did it again !!! Turning a ugly looking Dresser into a beautiful piece ! I hate MDF because it is the baddest material to use for furniture, but now it is looking amazing wand with the new front of the drawers it is absolute marvelous !! My Compliments for this piece of Art !!!
Fooled me, I thought it was a map cabinet, too. That would make a great storage option for a sewing room. Patterns and tools in the top drawers, fabric in the big ones, and maybe a big enough surface to cut things out on top. It would take a big sewing room, though!
Angie, you get the BEST finish on everything you paint! Whether with brush or roller, it always looks super smooth & streak free. Not a brush mark in sight. Your work is always excellent. Love from Annie, in Cornwall, UK🙂🌸
Beautiful, absolutely gorgeous, what a fantastic job! The practical part of me is always so disappointed in these kind of drawer units, pretending to be something they aren't and the waste of extra drawer pulls that serve no purpose. But so pretty I can almost forgive it :)

You're so welcome! I'll let Nacho know his handsomeness is being noticed, thank you! 😊
The variation in the wood color makes this piece. Making your own veneer puts you in a different category as well.
Thank you very much! I really appreciate that! 😊

Another marvelous transformation of pig's ear to a silk purse! It's now got a timeless look that would fit into any decor scheme.
Thank you so much for watching! 😊
I definitely think the contrast between the paint and the wood elevates the whole piece.
Thank you very much! 😀

The contrast of the white oak veneer with frame looks pretty awesome. It's warm and aged with an old world feel to it now.
Thank you so much! 😊
You did a fantastic job! One little thing : the pulls that you used are too busy and too many, I prefer the original design there. But again that is me. Brava!!
I get that. But if this was really an apothecary cabinet, every drawer would have one so.. 🤷♀️ (and many styles have TWO per drawer).
I like the new pulls better than the original ones. You could even put labels in them (might have to loosen the screws first). Even if you don't put labels in them, the look that you could do that makes sense with that many drawers.
Gorgeous, as always, Angie! "Elegant" was the perfect descriptor for this piece. Loved seeing Nacho and friends again!
Thank you so much! 😊
Just my own opinion obviously but I think there's too many handles. Makes it look cluttered.

It’s pretty easy once you’ve been around it a short time. I also opted for these pulls so that people could add a label to each drawer if they wanted to. Might help tell them apart easier, but it’s not hard once you open and close them a few times.
Amazing transformation! Adding the real wood to the drawer fronts really elevated the entire piece.
Thanks so much! 😀
You are an artist. Your vision is next level and your execution breathtaking. Whoever gets this piece has something very special.
Thank you so much! 😊
Amazing transformation!! The paint color, the stain, the handles, it all came together to transform this blah mdf into a beautiful statement piece anyone would be happy to have in their home. 👏👏👏
Thank you so much 😀
Your pieces are always gorgeous and so extra!!! You never do anything plain (that’s not the right word…lol). You always go the extra mile Angie! Beautiful cabinet! 🥰🥰🥰
Thank you so much!! I appreciate that! 😁
Stunning! Wish I didn't live thousands of miles away or I'd line up to buy this piece!
Awe, I'm so glad you like it! 😀
Bunny furniture would be super! My 2 bunnies would love to be your customers🙂
Really love what you did with this one Angie, MDF is so boring...the drawer fronts look fantastic , each one is different enough for the next to complete the illusion...bunny and kitty time was a bonus!!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! 😊
You never cease to amaze me, Angie! The staining technique was very interesting, and made the finished drawer fronts look great. But, your own veneer?!? Wow. Wonderful transformation
Thank you so much for watching! 😊
I still can't believe that 'fit' in your car. Looks great.
Crazy isn't it??
You did it again !!! Turning a ugly looking Dresser into a beautiful piece ! I hate MDF because it is the baddest material to use for furniture, but now it is looking amazing wand with the new front of the drawers it is absolute marvelous !! My Compliments for this piece of Art !!!
MDF taken care of properly has loads of uses. Thank you so much for watching!
Fooled me, I thought it was a map cabinet, too. That would make a great storage option for a sewing room. Patterns and tools in the top drawers, fabric in the big ones, and maybe a big enough surface to cut things out on top. It would take a big sewing room, though!
This turned from a junk piece to a high end functional piece of furniture ❤ Great job!!
I'm so glad you like it!! 😁
Angie, you get the BEST finish on everything you paint! Whether with brush or roller, it always looks super smooth & streak free. Not a brush mark in sight. Your work is always excellent. Love from Annie, in Cornwall, UK🙂🌸
Thank you so much 😀
Only you. Your creations are stunning. Your videos are always a delight. Thank you.
You're very welcome! ☺️
Beautiful, absolutely gorgeous, what a fantastic job! The practical part of me is always so disappointed in these kind of drawer units, pretending to be something they aren't and the waste of extra drawer pulls that serve no purpose. But so pretty I can almost forgive it :)
I am continuously impressed, awed, and amazed by the work you do, Angie. This is incredible!
Thank you kindly! 😀
Angie you are so talented and just a joy to watch. Your calm demeanor is refreshing. Thank you.
You're most welcome! I'm so glad you're enjoying my content! 😊
I can’t believe the boss only shows up once all your work is finished. Did this project get Nacho’s approval? 😋
This one got full inspector approval. 😉
It's beautiful, Angie. The end result always reflects the time, thought, and expertise you put into each piece. Well done!
Thank you! Cheers!
