      Im learning eng and thai, and I just wanna comment that in my last english class, I was reading something and just happened to read the expression "where have i gotten myself into", and dont know why but it sounded really strange for me and i thought no one would actually use this expression.. but here we go... I saw your comment and just remembered about my class 🤣🥴 i mean, i think this expression is quite common to you guys 🤣

      We Indians must be proud that Thai alphabet actually revives the Sanskrit spelling. Thai alphabet was created after the spread of Buddhism. The sacred terms here will obviously in Sanskrit and Pali. But it chose to revive the original spelling and the spelling continues still to this day!! :)

    I just watched the last video in this playlist and it said that Thai only has 21 consonants and 18 vowels. This video says 44 consonants and 32 vowels.

    • @mrjgrove4654
      @mrjgrove4654 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It means sounds(to pronounce) and forms (to write) ,separately. Thai has 21 consonant sounds and 44 consonant forms (several consonants give the same sounds) and 18 basic vowel sounds and 32 vowel forms (give basic and mixed sounds).

    Stop if there are no space between words in a sentence how do you know as a beginner especially when a word starts and another ends? It's like playing... How's called that game when you have to space words in a sentence to form it.. like igotoshooleveryday
    Obviously you could see that I wrote I go to school everyday. But that's cs you know the language, or at least these words... but in Thai it would be super hard + cs of the tones + long & short vowels (the last which I got, they're quite cute and sweet...

    not quite correct: the consonant classes are not only important when you mix consonants with "accentmarks" (which are not accentsmarks but tonemarks). thats actually totally wrong. the consonant classes indicate the tone in every case. a short dead syliable in low class without a tonemarker will be high tone, will a short dead syliable in middle class without a tonemarker will be a lowtone for example.
