This thing is a total winner. I had my first experience with it today and I was very impressed. It’s priced at niche levels but it’s every bit of niche quality. The quality of the ingredients and the quality of the blend is immediately apparent. What isn’t immediately apparent is the Sauvage DNA. It smells like nothing else in the line, even the Parfum version. In the mid and the dry down you can kinda sorta get the scent DNA with the other fragrances if you’re familiar with them but for the most part it’s drastically different from the others.
Exactly my experience. Others say they can’t pick up any familiarity to the original in edt but its in the mid around 3-5 hours and dry down and is not overwhelming like in the previous scents. That 1st 2 hours is a beast of niche sweet spicy awesome.
I bought the Elixir yesterday and, as soon as I applied it, I was reminded of Rochas L'Homme. I am not saying they are identical, but they definitely share lots of similarities. Nonetheless, it is a very solid release! It smells like quality, smells expensive, smells like something you would expect from Dior fragrance!!!

I must have gotten a reformulated product. I was never all that impressed by the edt. Just was a bit too boring to me. Now the elixir is a totally different story. It is EASILY in my top 3. Very pleasant and performance is what I expect from that price point.
If you remember Aramis Havana back in the day that’s what Elixir smells like. Havana was in a lovely blue glass bottle. Recently bought a bottle was very hard to find. Now it comes in a clear glass bottle with a sticker on. Brings back great memories.

I tried the EdT and the EdP and you are spot on about the EdP being a little more refined and not as abrasive. It's the one i decided to have in my collection and like the best.
As a more mature user of Sauvage, I prefer the versatility of the Edp. However this new frag is peaking my interest especially as we are transitioning to the cooler months ahead. I'm hoping the same year round use of the Edp is accentuated with Elixir and it's throwback appeal. Thanks for all your reviews and being the first to bring this to us.
So, here’s the best way I can put it. Take the sharpness of Sauvage EDP and mix it with something sweet from Paco Rabbane. Then take some powder and lavender from La Nuit De Lhomme. From there, give a tiny bit of vanilla from Versace Eros. This is a different fragrance. It’s only my first day with it, but I’m giving it a week as a daily wear. It starts dark and mysterious and I really love the opening. A few hours in, it’s sweet and powdery. I’m 50/50 with it right now. If you’re looking for another Sauvage, this is NOT IT. You will still need to own the EDT or EDP as well. People who like Drakkar Noir will like the opening. I’m only in my 20s so I don’t remember Noir that well.
Update: I’m eh with it. It’s nothing new. It’s a compliment monster for sure, but I personally prefer the EDT Sauvage. This is night time to EDT’s day time. Also, I finally figured out what it smells like and it’s Ultra Male with a little spice on the open and Layton by PDM or some Red Tobacco vibes from Mancera on the dry down

I just sampled this a few days ago. As a person in my 50s … I’m digging the sophisticated fresh take with a retro vibe. I love this fragrance. I’ll get it and use it primarily in the fall and winter. My EDP will be for all other times. :)
I bought this a couple of day ago (100ml). Very expensive.. but worth every single penny. This stuff is spicy, sweet, masculine. Just beautiful and it lasts forever.

My favourite Sauvage is the EDT just because it’s the best price value fragrance. Although Dior is a luxury brand, price still matters to me and the EDT fits both affordability and quality in my opinion

I bought the original Sauvage when it first came out (back in 2015!) saw the ad with Johnny Depp, and tested it in the shop… instantly fell in love! But since then I’ve tried them all, and have to say that my absolute favourite is definitely the Parfum. Love the darker scent, and just lasts for ages! P.s. I haven’t had a chance to smell the Elixir yet, but after this review, I definitely need to get myself to a shop to give it a try!

The dry down of Sauvage Elixir is where it’s at!!!! Not too fond of the opening but I can accept the opening for the dry down! In the opening, the spices are intense and rich, however in the dry down the spices toned down a bit and proportionately mixed with the lavender and woods. Definitely smells great, and glad to add it to my Sauvage collection!
Favorite Dior Sauvage hands down is the EDT, lasts longer on me personally. This would be perfect for my wedding cologne, no one would have it yet so I would smell different !!
Is it possible that we've finally entered the "Post-Blue" era. I have avoided all Blue scents because it isnt my style. I'd be extremely interested in Elixir with it's harkening to the 80s.
It seems like the blue fragrance category is really becoming over saturated! Most of them, regardless of price, have horrible performance and sillage & yet brands are asking $140+ !!
I’m kind of burnt out on most blue scents but I got Elixer about two weeks ago and must say, it really impressed me. The spices, the lavender, with a bit of the Sauvage DNA make it a pretty mature scent. I would give it a 8 out of 10

I like Sauvage EDP out of the Savage series, however after watching this video, I think this will be a blind buy, specially you mentioning the back to classic 80' vibe ..as have some great memories and associated scents from that time. stopped in Macy's yesterday, and they didn't have Elixer...yet, they had a couple of GIANT advertisements for it. Looking forward to checking it out. I still like the EDT the most.
I personally live the Dior Elixir! I have gotten more compliments on this in fact more than any other. The longer it stays on my skin the better it seems to get. When I walk by, it’s like a small cloud of the mid notes surround me. I cannot smell it much but others around me can. I have also tried the Eau De Toilet. I live there woody notes and the mixture of the fresher scents. I don’t have much experience with rheumatoid arthritis perfume yet. All in all Dior savage is my favorite!!
Sauvage Elixir is currently my favorite fragrance! It smells incredible! I am glad I got a travel size of it to test, but now I am looking forward to purchasing a full bottle. I like how I am currently wearing it on my skin while you are explaining the notes 😂The lavender and woodsiness is to die for!

I don't care about if it's "mature" or "throwback" but as a 24 yo dude this fragrance was a love at first sniff, it's so beautifully blended and is a beast of a scent. The cinnamon really pops off of my skin and has a subtle sweetness to it, licorice also comes through as it dries down but in a really pleasant way. Definitely buying the 100mL

I have the Dior sauvage parfum, a little expensive but compared to the EDT on my skin the difference was enormous. I can feel how the DS Parfum stick on my skin and give a powerful projection providing q lot of compliments. I love when I switch from indoor to outdoor here in Miami because yo can feel how the smell switch too.

Hendrix Wilson My favorite Sauvage is the EDT version. I purchased a 6.7 oz bottle a year ago and it is empty. My son and I have worn it for every occasion/event we attend together or separate. He has even kidnapped the bottle as he was heading to a wedding rehearsal. I didn’t realize the bottle was missing until the next morning when I reached for it. All of the Groomsmen wore Sauvage at the wedding.
In my opinion each sauvage release has gotten better each time. Would love to sample this new elixir. As always thanks again for the review. Stay blessed!
I almost choked myself out today spraying it for the first time! (8 sprays as I do as a bare minimum usually)! That juice delivers! Fell in love once I got the first whiff of the cinnamon. The inital cloud actually turned me off but after that first hit into the face (5-10 secs with over spraying) it is nothing but amazing!

I wore the EDP earlier and it's fantastic. Once it was fading 7 hours later i put Dua error 408 over it ( Invictus aqua 16 )
I just bought invictus aqua instead of invictus, how do you compare the two in your opinion

The performance of this thing is INCREDIBLE. Sillage over 24 hours easily.
My favorite Sauvage is the EDP.
Great content as always Ashton! As much as it pains me, I would have to say that my favorite Sauvage is still the EDT. I know, I know and I do own the EDP, but it just doesnt have that same "zing" that the EDT has.
I know the giveaway is long last but I’ve really been digging your videos lately. Nice hearing from someone that makes me feel like I live down the road from them (live in the south). I get that old-school scent you mentioned...to me Elixir smells like a new school version of old Fragrances...Today's clean and Barbershop with the dry down of Old Spice aftershave in the white glass bottle
I bought the original Sauvage when it first came out (back in 2015!) saw the ad with Johnny Depp, and tested it in the shop… instantly fell in love! But since then I’ve tried them all, and have to say that my absolute favourite is definitely the Parfum. Love the darker scent, and just lasts for ages!
P.s. I haven’t had a chance to smell the Elixir yet, but after this review, I definitely need to get myself to a shop to give it a try!

I’ve always been obsessed with sauvage and I tried this one the other day and I can still smell it on my jacket such a rich, deep and great warm smell I can’t wait to own one 👌
Finally, Lavender is taking the top spot. I was tired of seeing Iris in every new fragrance 🍸.

I think my favorite has to to be the edp personally. Really performs well, lasts a whole work day for me and has given me the most compliments of the bunch

Love the mature fragrances, till today i love the chanel egoiste, i wonder how this will smell compared to that. I rocked the EDT sauvage for a bit and i loved using it as a sat night out fragrance.

The EDP is definitely my favorite. Bleu de Chanel still gets the prize for me.

@@orubii-x3862 I like all versions of Bleu de Chanel but there is something about the Parfum that makes it stand out. It’s sophisticated, classier, and more mature. I think the sandalwood is what gives it its character and makes it more pleasant for my nose. What about you?

The dry down of Sauvage Elixir is where it’s at!!!! Not too fond of the opening but I can accept the opening for the dry down! In the opening, the spices are intense and rich, however in the dry down the spices toned down a bit and proportionately mixed with the lavender and woods. Definitely smells great, and glad to add it to my Sauvage collection!
Favorite Dior Sauvage hands down is the EDT, lasts longer on me personally. This would be perfect for my wedding cologne, no one would have it yet so I would smell different !!

Is it possible that we've finally entered the "Post-Blue" era. I have avoided all Blue scents because it isnt my style. I'd be extremely interested in Elixir with it's harkening to the 80s.

@@hardipsingh2921 actually, i'd argue that "Blue" was a new category of fragrances altogether, much as Oud had its moment.
It seems like the blue fragrance category is really becoming over saturated! Most of them, regardless of price, have horrible performance and sillage & yet brands are asking $140+ !!
I’m kind of burnt out on most blue scents but I got Elixer about two weeks ago and must say, it really impressed me. The spices, the lavender, with a bit of the Sauvage DNA make it a pretty mature scent. I would give it a 8 out of 10
The only Sauvage I’ve smelled is the EDT so I’d really like to win this Parfum bottle, I need to test out the others.
I think my favorite sauvage would probably be the edp. I recently started collecting fragrances and I would love to add that little mini bottle to my collection. It’s so cute. I love your videos, thank you for your consistant work! :)

I like Sauvage EDP out of the Savage series, however after watching this video, I think this will be a blind buy, specially you mentioning the back to classic 80' vibe ..as have some great memories and associated scents from that time. Every Dior product is always of great quality and craftmanship, independent if you like it or not. Thanks again for another great video :)

I personally live the Dior Elixir! I have gotten more compliments on this in fact more than any other. The longer it stays on my skin the better it seems to get. When I walk by, it’s like a small cloud of the mid notes surround me. I cannot smell it much but others around me can. I have also tried the Eau De Toilet. I live there woody notes and the mixture of the fresher scents. I don’t have much experience with rheumatoid arthritis perfume yet. All in all Dior savage is my favorite!!
Sauvage Elixir is currently my favorite fragrance! It smells incredible! I am glad I got a travel size of it to test, but now I am looking forward to purchasing a full bottle. I like how I am currently wearing it on my skin while you are explaining the notes 😂The lavender and woodsiness is to die for!

Kia ora Ash. Got to say your review of Elixir is the best on TH-cam. You mentioned the 80’s vibe which has been also picked up by other influencers. I agree it has an old school feel. I love this one. It smells fantastic. Some thing I’d probably wear in the evening, night out etc. I have just bought the wife a bottle of perfume from PerfumeNZ for her so that I can justify buying this one for me! I liked the passion you showed with Elixir which encouraged me to buy it.

I don't care about if it's "mature" or "throwback" but as a 24 yo dude this fragrance was a love at first sniff, it's so beautifully blended and is a beast of a scent. The cinnamon really pops off of my skin and has a subtle sweetness to it, licorice also comes through as it dries down but in a really pleasant way. Definitely buying the 100mL

I have the Dior sauvage parfum, a little expensive but compared to the EDT on my skin the difference was enormous. I can feel how the DS Parfum stick on my skin and give a powerful projection providing q lot of compliments. I love when I switch from indoor to outdoor here in Miami because yo can feel how the smell switch too.

I would like to be entered into the giveaway. My favorite sauvage is the edt. That being said I haven't gotten my nose on the EDP or parfum version. I been rocking with sauvage from when I blind brought it when it first came out and was receiving all this hate from the fragrance community. Funny how things change several years later.

My favorite Sauvage is the EDT version. I purchased a 6.7 oz bottle a year ago and it is empty. My son and I have worn it for every occasion/event we attend together or separate. He has even kidnapped the bottle as he was heading to a wedding rehearsal. I didn’t realize the bottle was missing until the next morning when I reached for it. All of the Groomsmen wore Sauvage at the wedding.
In my opinion each sauvage release has gotten better each time. Would love to sample this new elixir. As always thanks again for the review. Stay blessed!

I almost choked myself out today spraying it for the first time! (8 sprays as I do as a bare minimum usually)! That juice delivers!
Fell in love once I got the first whiff of the cinnamon. The inital cloud actually turned me off but after that first hit into the face (5-10 secs with over spraying) it is nothing but amazing!

Just found your channel and i am lvoing it. slowly going through all your vidoes. i have only tried the EDT version of Sauvage as that is the only one i can afford now but would love to try the EDP and see which i prefer.
I’m not a Sauvage fan, but this elixir is special. The path is righteous… The others can take a hike in my opinion. Price is steep but as a frag head it’s worth the mula. Well played by Dior❗️🤘🏻🔥

The opening is what grabbed me- that red twizzlers and potent sandalwood oil top - I screamed at the Macys counter.

My first Dior was this one got it about a week ago pulled the trigger on it even with the 155 price tag. Couldn't be happier with it.
