Thank you for taking the time to video this, I may never get up there to actually see these sites. Its crazy that she and Andy both ended back up here in NC, after all most of the cast is buried in Cali.
@@mylesburris3885 I do love animal's cause the more I know animal's the least I like humans..and specially humans like you, ( if you can call yourself human) And MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎅 to you too..
Francis was excellent as Aunt Bea. She was an very talented actress in early films as well. Actresses aren't made of her stock often. May she rest in peace.
She lived one block from me. She was not very sociable, house belonged to prominent Dr, and the inside was immaculate. The whole house had to be stripped and cleaned after her death. Cats had whole room for their cat boxes!
Actually, when she was younger she was drop dead gorgeous beauty. She played in many movies in 40, 50, 60 til she started playing “ character” roles. Look her up You will be surprised.
Wow that is a nice house, I was wondering what it looked like inside from the outside in my opinion it looks like just an ordinary house but seeing the inside I think it looks more like a Victorian style house I sure wouldn't mind living in it. Maybe the people who end up buying it maybe they'll see her ghost bet she's still there watching over the place.
Interesting video. Thank you! Dave Sanstrum has some good stuff on the Andy Griffith show and Frances Bavier on his channel if your not familiar with it...
I loved Aunt Bee, but I believe she died unhappy. She wanted the starring role next to Andy Griffith. She did get credits after Don Knotts left the show, but by that time it was not the same show!
That's BS. The first episode of the show was the pilot they used to sell it. In the first episode it is explained that Andy is a widower with a small boy. And in the second episode, you are introduced to Barney, his deputy, who very typically Southern, was Andy's cousin. Bea was written into the show in the third episode. Frances Bavier never had any other expectations of Bea than of her being a peripheral character. Most actors just want to work. They don't care about being a "star".
I knew Jim Nabors personally. She was not liked by the staff and once Ernest T. Bass called the law on her during production. Aunt Bee slapped him because they had some offensive words. Andy had to handle this issue. The producers and owners of the show wanted her terminated immediately. But Andy who told them that America loves Aunt Bee and if you fired her the shows rating would drop. He convinced them and they worked around her about negative feedback.
I have been in the house it was nasty she painted all the rooms green she lived in one room I also know her house keeper she now lives behind me she did not drive her studs baker is now in Denton Nc her pets had free run of the house the hous stunk
I’m surprised she had Aunt bee written on her headstone because she wasn’t very fond of the show when she was doing it. She was not a happy camper doing the show and could be very nasty to the rest of the cast and crew. I think she felt The Andy Griffith Show was a little beneath her coming from the New York stage and being an actress in major theatrical productions. I feel for her.
Thank you so much for taking the time to put this together and sharing it with all of us.
..love you for it!
I moved here to North Carolina about 8 years ago and I love it so thank you for showing some of its beautiful history! 🌹❤🌹

Nice video. Beautiful country
The Andy Griffith show is still on the air in Canada..
Andy may have been "the star" but I watched because there were so many different characters, and each one became a personal friend.
I loved watching Aunt Bee
Aunt Bee was great .
Agree!
She's somebody that people loved and they'll never forget

I like that you are a woman narrator!!!! You're the first I've came across!!!! Anyhow love the video!!!!!!

I have always wondered why her character’s name was spelled ‘Bee.’ Her name was Beatrice. I would think that the nickname would be spelled ‘Bea.’

Why speak negative? Let her rest in peace. Aren't we all difficult to get along with at times??
How much would her house go for
It was on the market for $375,000
I read that Frances Bavier became a recluse after the show ended.
Aunt Bea, we all miss you so much. You were such a big part of our lives for soo many years. Rest In Peace.
