A straight forward plan that will get a lot of exercise in a small amount of time. 1. Schedule yourself 4 days every week for 25 minutes. Don't miss a week. It's just 25 minutes out of 24 hrs - that's not bad at all. 2. Get good running shoes. 3. Have some warm up stretches, like counting to 20 when you bend over and touch the floor to stretch your legs (no bouncing; keep firm), side stretches, etc . 3. Then just go on a slow run to begin for a few weeks to get used to it. Keep to the same route, if you like, to make it seem like a goal. 4. After, do the same warm up stretches again as cool down stretches. Done. Little by little you will feel better and you will then naturally want to remove some unnecessary food items from your day and adjust your eating schedule properly. You can consult with your doctor further, if you like. That's it... running to me gives your body a lot of workout in a smallest amount of time if you have a busy schedule. It is only 25 minutes, four days a week - every week. You can stop for a few months in the winter and then pick up again very early in the spring and don't delay or miss any weeks after that until the next winter.
