    - Since filming, Razer dropped the price of this laptop from $2000 to $1500, and on Amazon (link above) it's actually down to $1400 in the US. Of course that does make it a lot more attractive if you want something small that can also game.

    *UPDATE!* After filming this, Razer dropped the price from *$2000* to *$1500* in the US (It's still 1900€ here), and on Amazon it's even down to *$1400* (link: amzn.to/2EoYqpS ) Obviously that makes this Blade 13 considerably better value.

      It really needs to be around $1200-1400 to justify what it is, anything more is just overcharging.
      People will talk about quality and such but truth is every laptop should be that way and have that same quality, there comes a point in time where the difference in materials is marginal at best, an example is plastics are actually starting to exceed cost wise what a metal chassis would, years ago I talked to PC case manufacturers about the cost of Plastics versus Aluminum versus Steel, where injection molding was starting to cost as much as if they used metal anyways, it became the same with Tempered Glass versus Acrylic, the glass ended up being cheaper due to the frail nature of acrylics scratching and cracking due to manufacturing and material handling as well as Tooling costs, and in some ways easier to recycle with less environmental impact.

    In other words, it's bloody ridiculously expensive but a lovely, elegant piece of kit. I'm happy that I managed to drop on a 2nd hand one that looked as good as new for £750 here in the UK. I use a Razer Barracuda X wireless headset and a Razer Atheris wireless mouse with it for a very minimalistic and sleek setup.

    Hi there , love your reviews! I wanted your opinion on getting this stealth 13 with the dedicated gpu compared to getting the xps 13 . Both will have the same i7 cpu but the xps will have the inferior intel iris plus gpu , after the razer dropped in price they are now the same price . I won't be playing any games on the laptop , only occasionally light gaming (not AAA games) but at the same time I want the laptop to last as long as possible thats why I thought about picking up the stealth 13 as it has a dedicated gpu. Thank you

    • @TechTesters
      @TechTesters  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! I really don't think the dedicated GPU will really make it significantly better in non-gaming in a couple of years, at least not before you want to replace either laptop anyway (or the chances of one dying). But if you play even light games? The Razer Blade is definitely faster. Something like LoL will be fine forever basically, but other games like Minecraft will already really benefit.
      So it's a choice that depends on your gaming demands really, not on your non-gaming ones.

    • @TechTesters
      @TechTesters  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, that's what it feels like right? It's such a lovely machine, but it's also a stuck between some premium office laptops, and some faster gaming options that just aren't that much bigger. It's not a completely fair comparison with larger models, but if you really love gaming, is 300 grams more _really_ an issue?
      Then again, every time I use this I do really like it. Hard choices :P

    @7:42 the thermal testing results aren't realistic. There is only a "Gaming" mode, not a "Graphics Performance" mode as stated in the video. For people who buy this nice little gaming ultrabook, they should be prepared for hitting 100 degrees when gaming (with the Gaming mode.. with "balanced" = around 80 degrees). The intel i7 does not throttle, so it keeps the performance... but AVG 79 degrees as in this video isn't realistic. (greetings from an owner of this Razer Blade 13)

    Is there anything out there that's similar to this in size and volume but significantly (a lot!) cheaper, that can do a tiny bit of lightweight gaming? Razer's Stealth machine is all very nice and looks great but the price point leaves a lot to be desired. I'm still running my Alienware M11x R3 to this day because it got the value/performance ratio right when I stumped up the cash for it even if nowadays it does sound like a hairdryer under load and is essentially a glorified web browser!

    • @TechTesters
      @TechTesters  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think so, the main real alternative that comes to mind is the G14, bit bigger, usually cheaper, especially with a GTX 1650. Alternatively you can look at AMD Ryzen 4000 laptops without a GPU, for example the Acer Swift 3 (14") and Xiaomi Redmibook 16, both of which I have a video on. I know the Xiaomi is a 16", but it still shows that with those Ryzen CPUs and without a dedicated GPU like this GTX 1650 Ti, you can still play some lighter games well.

  • @123Suryasis

    If you can ignore the 120 Hz refresh rate, then even the base G14 model which comes with Ryzen 7 4800HS and GTX 1650 GDDR6 version, selling between $1000 to $1100, is a way way better choice than this Razer Blade Stealth. Blade may look a bit cooler and having slightly better build but the performance difference, especially in CPU area, is so enormous between 4800HS and 1065G7, I won't even consider Stealth. Razer should release a model with Ryzen 7 4800U, which as per the latest reviews (Yoga or Ideapad Slim 7), can actually perform within 15% range of 8 Core i7-10875H.

      depends on which one you can buy for which price. I think if you're serious about gaming and you game a lot, AAA games especially, the G14 with RTX 2060 makes more sense. If you care more about it being super compact, and only play lighter games (or not as often), this can make sense.

I don't know how far Razer has come from their late 2016's models with barbeque dual core Kaby Lake CPU's to this, but I used that for everyday use with a GTX 1070 plugged in a Razer Core and the thermals were so hot, the chasis protruded from the screws with barely a year of "everyday use". My next laptop was the Alienware 13 R3 and that made me regret I went for an ultra-light + eGPU setup (luclily, the 13 has a TB3 port and has 4 pcie lanes too).
    Good luck also getting help with Razer's tech support if something goes wrong. Dell is light years ahead of Razer with post sales.
    I game on a proper rig now and settled for a cheap HP Envy for work, thanks to Covid19.

      I never had the older model, but I have a chapter on thermals and they're actually much better than on 99% of laptops.

      I mean at least use the i7-10710U instead of this quad core Ice Lake chip. Why bother with Iris Plus graphics if there is going to be the 1650 Ti Max Q instead? I believe the 2 extra cores will actually boost performance in games rather than having a better but wholly unused iGPU sitting inside the laptop doing nothing when gaming.

    Wondered how to make a lemon cake? Here you go, enjoy
    Ingredients:
    1/2 pound (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
    2 1/2 cups granulated sugar, divided
    4 extra-large eggs, at room temperature
    1/3 cup grated lemon zest (6 to 8 large lemons)
    3 cups flour
    1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    1 teaspoon kosher salt
    3/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice, divided
    3/4 cup buttermilk, at room temperature
    1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
    For the glaze:
    2 cups confectioners' sugar, sifted
    3 1/2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
    Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour 2 (8 1/2 by 4 1/4 by 2 1/2-inch) loaf pans. You may also line the bottom with parchment paper, if desired.
    Cream the butter and 2 cups granulated sugar in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes. With the mixer on medium speed, add the eggs, 1 at a time, and the lemon zest.
    Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl. In another bowl, combine 1/4 cup lemon juice, the buttermilk, and vanilla. Add the flour and buttermilk mixtures alternately to the batter, beginning and ending with the flour. Divide the batter evenly between the pans, smooth the tops, and bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until a cake tester comes out clean.
    Combine 1/2 cup granulated sugar with 1/2 cup lemon juice in a small saucepan and cook over low heat until the sugar dissolves. When the cakes are done, allow to cool for 10 minutes. Remove the cakes from the pans and set them on a rack set over a tray or sheet pan; spoon the lemon syrup over them. Allow the cakes to cool completely.
    For the glaze, combine the confectioners' sugar and the lemon juice in a bowl, mixing with a wire whisk until smooth. Pour over the tops of the cakes and allow the glaze to drizzle down the sides.
    Have a wonderful day
