I've watched a few of these videos in anticipation of doing this job on an 86 F250 and this one is BY FAR the best / most useful and the best videography. Congratulations and thanks, Bob.
question on the wire bundle for the multi-function switch ...when the new one is pushed thru the hole in the steering column hole, there is a small white wire for the gear indicator. is the multi-function switch wire bundle supposed to be OVER top that white wire? or under it? thx.
The original switch has two pins on the turn signal canceling ring. The new switch only has one. What does the brass spring loaded pin on the original switch do?
I believe it is the electrical contact for the cruise control and horn. The new switches don't come with it, but I pop out the black plastic ring from the original switch with a flat tip screw driver, then transfer it to the new switch to keep the cruise and horn working. I have not found a new switch that comes with that contact, so reusing the old ring is the only solution.
I will work on that. The actuator needs to be modified slightly to work properly, since the reproductions are a bit too big and get jammed up unless you sand them down. I will show you how soon.

I double checked my photos of the ones I rebuilt and the wire harness goes under the white plastic tube for the gear indicator.

Can you make video steering lock actuator?
