I hate social anxiety, once I had a very bad panic attack when I was suppose to say my speech in front of the whole class. I was so scared when the teacher said my name that I couldn’t move I couldn’t do anything actually, I was just sitting in my place paralysed and I started to cry even though I knew it would just get worse if I cry but I couldn’t help it. After teacher saw that I was crying she called another person and I asked if I can go to toilet, then I just went there and sit there and cry for like most of this lesson. I can’t even go on a walk because I immediately have thoughts that everyone is watching me and that I act unnaturally. I’m really getting tired of it. Thank you for doing that kind of videos it will definitely help me and other people ❤
@@Krise9kkk I'm actually slowly overcoming it. I have friends now and I'm socializing well with my class. There's a presentation coming and I'm one of the leaders. I'm scared but I feel like I can do it.
Spent the first half of junior year of college alone. I ate alone, walked everywhere alone, and didn't speak to classmates. I remember it was about 2 months where i didn't say a single word. Social anxiety is not fun. People say be yourself and embrace your shyness -- yeah, no thanks. That crap was awful.
Crying right now since 11.grade it’s really hard for me to go to school sometimes. There are teachers That make it even worse like teachers That let students pick their team in PE and you are one of the last ones. I really don‘t want to go to school because of the high pressure and the feeling of not being enough. It’s always so hard for me to raise my hand
I relate to this video so so much. I finished high school last school year and looking back on it now i kind of regret how much i was held back by my social anxiety. I hadnt asked a question in over 2 years because i was so afraid of being made fun of for not knowing something. My teachers also werent very reassuring when it came to anxiety, they weren't mean about it or anything but also never really helped me with it, they still made me do presentations even though they noticed how scared i was to do so, and even after breaking down crying during a latin examination. Thanks for making this video, its quite reassuring to hear about others with these experiences. ❤
Yes I was also held back through school yrs bc of it 😭 it is hard, I feel like I've wasted so much of my life caring about things that didn't matter, I failed my classes bc you had to participate and ask/answer questions, understandable, but not when you have social anxiety 😭 my teachers also never helped they thought I was skipping or not trying😅 I never told them I had it, but looking back it was VERY obvious. They just don't care enough 💅 but knowing they don't care helps the fact that ppl I walk pass in the hall or in class could also care less.
I'm glad I wasn't alone, I hope ur anxiety free! Or at least getting there😊 thought I got rid of social anxiety, turns out I still have it but now I care what the teachers think and not the students 😅
@@JustViewingG I'm not completely rid of it yet, but i'm improving! 😊I'm in uni now and it's a much better environment for me personally. I'm still scared of doing alot of things like presentations or socializing, but i notice i handle it better than when i was still in high school. I have alot of regrets because of my anxiety from that time, but now i'm trying to slowly step out of my comfort zone and i do notice that while my anxiety is still there, it's getting better! 🤗 May we both be free of it one day 🥲
@@leahabc that's good keep going ur a good mentor to urself! Hopefully that day will come soon because it is exhausting, let's just keep pushing ourselves to get where we need to be no matter how hard, we'll get there ❤️💯🪶
Im 14 ive been having social anxiety since i was 10. i rarely go to school i used to be bullied and it hurt me so much and traumatized me but finally going to school on Tuesday i know kids can be a little crazy and unmature but i swear i will try my best😕!
I would never guess you have social anxiety. I had the same fear, I feel overwhelmed when i have to present in work or speak in meetings. My voice often shakes and its really upsetting. Im glad im not the only one. Its a constant state of stress
I have been dealing with anxiety for 3 years, I didn't know before, it was only after I told my mother that she explained it to me and I remember crying in her arms. Classes have just started and it's only been three days and I've already had 2 panic attacks, but I don't think they noticed, I'm afraid that one day it will be noticed and people will come to me because it makes the situation worse for me. Thank you, you really helped me try to make sure that what I'm really afraid of never happens 🌷💗
Thank you so much for this video! As someone who is finally beginning to recover from my social anxiety after over 6 years, this is one of the most relatable and helpful videos I've seen. I feel like some things you mentioned, like the exhaustion and not being able to eat, are not often talked about as stemming from anxiety (i only properly realised they were because of my anxiety once it began to improve), so it's so good that you're spreading awareness that these are big struggles for people with anxiety. This video made me (and probably a lot of other people struggling with social anxiety) feel a little bit less alone, and it's so amazing of you to share this, even though it must be hard. I'm so glad your anxiety has been improving since you left school. Love your videos!
Tysm! you really helped me tune down my social anxiety, usually when i watch other videos on how to overcome social anxiety the tips aren't very helpfull. I can relate to some of your experiences which makes me feel like I'm not alone, I also have autism so sometimes i struggle alot with social interactions but when I look at where I'm now and where I was a year ago then I feel quite proud of myself, if you're reading this then just know that you are not alone I promise it's gonna get better. keep fighting✊
Saying Hello from Canada ‼️🇨🇦 ^^ I also struggle with social anxiety so ive been looking up vids like this to help build courage to do social activities, Thank you for sharing‼️ it truly means a lot c:
this is such a good video Naomi! thank u sm for talking abt this! another thing that I would like to add is that you really need to understand that your occasional mistakes don't define you at all. if you said something stupid in class nobody is going to think that you're suddenly stupid now, they will just see that you're a human too that makes mistakes and they will move on. I was always terrified of saying something wrong bc I wanted to have the reputation of a perfect student, when really there's no such a thing. if you're a hard working student, nobody is going to remember you by your mistakes, they will remember you for all of the hard work you did. another thing, please don't fear change. if you want to change your style or personality but you're afraid that other ppl that know you will judge you, but that's really not the case. yeah, if you do it over night the first week people are gonna be surprised, but by the next week everyone will get used to it. you can always do it gradually too if you're really scared of judgement. at the end of the day, you only get this life and you have all of the power to change it and make it ideal for you. good luck and I hope that everything goes well!
Thank you for making this video, its crazy how much I actually relate to you. I’ve had social anxiety for almost 3 years now and it’s awful, i would love it if you talked more about this theme❤
Thank you, this is really helpful. I hate how school seems to just make it even harder for students with social anxiety. In my school teachers rarely give us work to write, it's usually that we have to come up and with a response speak out about something. And they give us presentations to do and of course we have to present it in front of the whole class. I bet no one likes to do that even people without social anxiety. Why can't they assign something that everyone is comfortable with? I literally have to go through panic attacks before I have to speak. And I seem to be the only one like this in my class. How is that possible????? There are so much people with social anxiety right? So I don't get it. Everyone in my class, more or less is a social butterfly. I hate it. So much.
my first period class which is english, and my teacher has called me out by my grade but doesn’t say my name but it’s still really embarrassing. and she also calls out my friends handwriting.
