I may be getting ahead of your 4th part, but are you putting in some sort of flooring or something to keep predators from coming up from the bottom? Oh and that is a cute little redheaded chicken in there.
I don't think we will put anything on the bottom because we want to move them daily onto fresh pasture. We may surround them with an electric fence if we are concerned.
