Home Free really hits the mark of memorial day. The holiday where we remember those who gave all. I was proud to have served with the best and the bravest. I appreciate home free bringing the meaning of memorial day back to the holiday
A bittersweet story. A nice twist to have the woman as the soldier. Loved Chance and Austin together. They sounded so good. Loved Adam’s drum solo too. It does bring tears to your eyes. God bless our soldiers. Good reaction!
Home Free has a way of bringing out the soul and heart of a song, and this one is just... no words. Thank you for your honest, as always, reaction. I've watched this so many times by now and it gets me every time.
Don't Chase & Austin harmonizing sound so GREAT....what a way to start ! Home Free reminding us that Memorial Day is not just BBQ's, baseball, & parades...but about the real world & it's consequences. God bless you & Home Free but especially those families who sacrificed & the soldiers that gave up everything for us.
Country artist Bruce Robison originally wrote and recorded this song in 1996, but it wasn't till the Dixie Chicks recorded it in 2003 that it became #1 on the country charts.
Travelin' Soldier" is a song written and originally recorded by American country music artist Bruce Robison in 1996 and again, in rewritten form, in 1999. It was later recorded by Ty England on his 1999 album, Highways & Dance Halls.
I'm glad they did make the soldier a woman in the video because many people don't as easily remember the many women soldiers out there saving lives, fighting, and dying for us. Most people's minds automatically think of the men, who are the majority, but people need to be reminded of the women that leave their families and are out there fighting also and the many that have died for our country.
Please consider FIRST TIME hearing Joey & Rory "When I'm Gone". Very powerful. Sadly, the message in song came true for these two years later after recording. (tissue alert) Quality writing and wonderful delivery. Thank you in advance.
Another powerful song I recommend reacting to is 'Riding With Private Malone' by David Ball. I think it might make you cry, but its a bitter sweat song with a happy ending to it.

Reminds me how they harmonize in Helplessly Hoping!
A great song by the greatest group!
Though not in the military, I miss HIS HANDSOME SMILE😪

Tim said the girl's a real soldier....
Most people don't realize her name name was called during the local dead call. She didn't come home in boots, but a box.

I discovered that song shortly after my dad died. It still makes me cry. Thank you for your suggestion though!
@@Dreamerof2012 So sorry for your loss. Very young for Dad to be gone. Its hard for us here. Take care.
I like that the soldier is a woman of color also, they don’t always get portrayed in things.

Its a wonderful song. It gives me chills every time I hear it. Thanks for the suggestion but I have seen the video.
The original writer and singer of the song was Bruce Robinson in 1996. I listen to Bruce Robinson and the Chicks and Home Free sounds far better.
