Don’t worry about the tears! I’m a 57 year old construction worker from Iowa, and I think I was crying harder than you were! It’s a very touching song, and a very serious subject. Thanks for doing the reaction!

Austin said that his mom told him that he said he wanted to be like Billy Gilman when he grew up and was so excited to see him collab with him

I Have Always Loved this song and Billy's Beautiful Voice!!!! I Remember when he 1st released it in May 2000, he was just 12 years old when he released it and he was the Youngest male artist in history to have a Solo Top 40 hit on the Country Charts!!!! I've been in this situation around 6 years ago and Thank God it Didn't work!!!! I suffer from PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, & Panic Attacks!!!! But You Have to Fight Through It!!!! I Know it's easier Said Than Done!!!!
And Billy's voice is Still Absolutely Angelic!!!! Home Free is Amazing for doing this song with Billy!!!! Great Reaction!!!! I've Always Cried when Billy sang this song!!!! But this video is Really Very Deep, and I Always Breakdown when the Mother & Son run to each other!!!!

Your reaction is priceless. You almost became a pompom welding cheerleader when he tossed that gun.
    Thank you.

It was a sad then happy video when he chose to keep trying life and threw the gun off the bridge. I can feel both sides of that, being a mom myself now and also those dark hopeless moments also, but the song was beautiful. Thanks for the reaction.

I have known friends and family who have committed suicide. What breaks my heart the most, is that they felt that was there only option. Their pain just gets transferred to all who loved them.

I really didn’t know the meaning of this song til I saw the video! Just glad it threw it in the water. VERY emotional song. The harmonies and Adams beatboxing were spot on!! Austin and Billy did a great job letting people know they can always talk to someone about their problems and what they are going through/or call the hotline😮 Great emotional heart-felt reaction 🎉 I love Home Free😊

this is one of the most powerful songs Homefree has done and I am sure a lot of people needed to hear that. I myself deal with depression and anxiety and have had those thoughts almost daily. I am living proof that suicide is not the answer. I was bullied all through school very little friends and I always thought of "Why am I here" so i get it. Your tears show you care and that is very powerful and caring. Do not change that . God bless you.

You are the only reactor to stop the video and read the note, that really Broke me down. I have been there with my PDST.

The message is that one voice is all it takes to help someone choose life over suicide....there is a hotline number at the end...and this was released for Mental Health Awareness Month. It is an original from Billy over 20 years ago...on an album I loved every song on there. It is a very powerful song, video and message and Home Free should be commended for ALL their projects recently to bring people together and have awareness of each other....never apologize for tears and emotions...it means you are human!

Your reaction had me tearing up! I've never been close to this point but my wife's cousin accomplished the unthinkable a few years ago. I like your thought of, it isn't necessarily God that is the "one voice". For me, I think the "one voice" in the song was likely God but I think the point is that all it takes is "one voice" and that voice can come from anywhere. Subscribed.

That is a beautiful song, and the video is very moving and powerful.
I heard the original when I was a kid. But I get emotional everytime I hear it.

This is so good. Suicide is not the answer. The pandemic has been hard on everyone especially kids. Pray for our kids, parents, friends and our nation. Talk to someone. Billy has a beautiful voice. Home Free backing him up was wonderful. Good reaction. It’s ok to cry. I’ve cried at a lot of the reactors to this.

Thank you for reading the letter. I've tried reading it on my kindle and iPad but couldn't read all the lines. You're my 11th reactor of this song. And the only one to pause the video to read the letter. I didn't realize also he felt disconnected from his mom. .. I also cried along with you.

Stunning song with a powerful message. I really respect your honest and heartfelt reaction. It’s like you’ve been doing reactions for a long time. But you’ve earned a new sub here. Keep doing anything from Home Free or Voiceplay (or their members’ solo stuff) and your channel will grow fast as there are a lot of us fans who watch their reactors. HF has such a wide range of stuff they do from comedy to serious, country to R&B. But one of my favs is actually “How Great Thou Art” because of their spectacular harmonies. Also love “Folsom Prison Blues”, “Ring of Fire” (ft Avi from Pentatonix”, and “Man of Constant Sorrow” just to name a few.

Don’t ever make excuses for expressing your emotions. It shows what a compassionate person you are. Billy Gilman who is featured in this song originally sang this song as a child. You should check out his original song

It's a deep song with a hard message but imagine that song coming from the voice of a 12 yr old. That's how old Billy Gillman was when he first recorded it. Both times the message and song were powerful

Just stumbled over your Channel 15min. ago...
I see where your Channel's Name comes from. Some Years ago, very few, but REAL Friends took the Responsibility to keep me going on and not going through with my Plan, which nobody else ever knew (knows) about... I wish you all the Best and send you a big virtual Hug. Heartfelt thanks for your honest Reaction from a 37year old Farmworker in Switzerland!

This was written right after the shooting at Columbine in Colorado, 10 or more years ago. There is a lot of symbolism in the video going back to the original release.

I put a gun in my mouth at 17 cause of losing both parents around the same time, pulled the trigger but it jammed and I've never took a single day for granted since then cause I knew God had other plans for me. This song really hits

When I came Out as Gay in 7th 1990 i was the only openly Gay boy in my school 6-7th grade. I was Bullied both Verbally and Physically. I wrote a few suicide Notes but kind words from my Friends mostly Girls and my Boyfriend who i met in 9th grade saved me. I tried with Pills. I didn’t tell my family in 2012. All excepting.

You can watch the original music video here on you tube, here is the link if you are interested in watching it. th-cam.com/video/-NlT-ELVWk0/w-d-xo.html.
It was released 20 yrs ago after the Columbine High School shooting. It is sung from the prospective of a child. I believe Billy was only 12yrs old.
