- Fixing the brakes on my truck before heading to The Tent. Tilling and discing the new garden area. Fish and shrimp fry. Something new coming to The Farmhouse.
I have to say Joe that if I was your neighbor I would be standing outside your door every night with my empty plate ! lol .
I would be with you as well with my empty plate.
Me too
I wouldn't be at the door, I'd be seated at the table.
My kind of meal looked delicious Got another glimpse of the red dragon.
7:58 I like your white tarp... I save my old shower curtains for such jobs and keep it behind my seat in case I breakdown on the side of the road to keep my clothes clean. 💖🌞🌵😷
I love watching Joe while eating supper 😂🤣😂, I swear I am having BBQ and salad as well but mine is chicken quarters smoked with hickory 🤣😂👍, love the videos Joe hope all is well 😎👍
Same if I am not eating while watching Joe I will be. He always has food that just makes my mouth water. Especially when Melissa is cooking.
@@tdvan80 Damn straight 😎👍
Great to see you back at full swing and working on the homestead
3/4 swing but I edit out anything less. Haha. Thank you.
Thanks Joe! Always enjoy your videos! God bless you all!
A lesson in always replace everything everything with new parts and add new grease to those slides even if they are new
Joe I hope u didnt replace the caliper because it seemed like the piston was frozen and wouldnt go back in. Rear calipers piston have to be screwed back in to add new pads. Its part of how the parking brake works. Look on youtube maybe to see. I am a retired mechanic of 37 years.
So scary seeing the tool set from Kmart and the old claw hammer doing a break job in the dirt driveway! Just think that thing could be coming in the other lane at your family!!!!!
I have driven almost 300 miles since I changed the brakes the same way I have done them for 40 years and know what??? They are working perfect like they always have. Screwed in? Lol. I already edited out several words of profanity.
@@brianmendel8680 It's even more scary to me that an arrogant pos like you could be coming in the other lane at my family.
@@NorthernSeclusion good. There is no need for profanity.
Joe you need to buy you a box till that hooks to the back of your tractor.. Then you can till the dirt up real fine.. The finer the dirt your garden grows better..
Thinking the same thing.
Your fish fry was amazing 👏!!!😊
🥶 Cold today 75f right now (noon). Last Monday it was 97f here in sunny 🌞 Arizona 🌵.
You have mentioned a Greenhouse in past videos.... Hmmm, transporting it might be a problem. But... I'm sure Joe will come up with a workable solution. Thanks for the Great continuing content. I've been watching for years and will continue to, the Good Lord Willing...!
OMG y’all, that food looks so delicious and thanks for sharing. Take it easy Joe! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🤩🤩🤩💯💯💯🌱🌱🌱
great video Joe,I believe you are a machine the way you stay active doing things!
Great video Joe. I see your back to being busy again. Good to see the old Joe. Melissa the food looked delicious for the fish fry.
Thanks Joe & Melissa !😊
Love the video Joe. Great to see you getting back to normal. You got my curiosity fired up. Can’t wait to see what’s coming next. By the way the garden is going to be awesome.
Thanks for sharing with us Joe and Melissa, lots of great work and great meals cooked too. Thanks for sharing with us. Looking forward to seeing the cream separator you purchased and will be bringing home. Stay safe and careful lifting habits will help . Fred.
Thats some good livin right there!!!
Yippee! Hello from Iowa.
on the disc if you move the frount centers of the disc back and the rear set forward they will cut deeper.I DID NOT GET A GOOD LOOK TO SEE IF THAT IS POSABLE ON YOUR DISC.🤩👍👍
That is going to be an awesome garden!
I love watching Svengoolie :)
Fish fry turned out real good huh??? My sis would love those jalapeno poppers. Loved the video Joe. Tyfs God bless you
I love watching you do your big gardens.
Love the fish Joe. could eat a fish dinner every week. nice work on the garden.
Love the cooking you do
Woohoo!
Love your channel. Thank you Joe.
Here we go Joe!!!!!
You left us with a cliffhanger.
You’re such a hardworking man, love watching your videos. Happy you’re on the mend, so much more to do!
Back in the day you separated the cream from the milk, took the cream to the creamery, picked up the check and headed to the friendly grocery store.
That's how it worked in early 50s.
You might want to look at a PTO drive tiller!
That cookstove works good
Rusty but trusty still good to just give up I have all the vehicles are over 20 years old and I will not give them up. They still work great at three of them I guess when you’re old like your dad 60s and 70s he just fix it and go.
Hello Sir, I was wondering how much bigger this year's garden is compared to the Hobby farm's gardens of the past? At least it looks bigger. Thank you for all you do Sir, glad to see you are recovering well.
The garden we had here was kind of close to the hobby farm house garden, We are adding a 25x50 greenhouse and then garden beyond that. Much bigger but I have never had a greenhouse and this is kind of Melissa's toy. We will see what happens in future videos.
You have all those buildings. Get under roof to do that work. from experience I can tell you working in the wet and cold takes it's toll in later years.
I have worked out in the elements doing construction since I was 13. The toll has been taken already. Lol.
I love watching you guys especially the food but I'm shocked how much you make. Can I come to dinner?
We usually eat what we cook on the weekends all week long. Lol.
Hang in there
Good evening Joe and thank you for another great video as others have said. Do you know the name of the birds that you could hear in a lot of the earlier part of your video it kind of reminded me of some kind of wood thrush that we have in PA but I don’t think it’s that, and I think I also heard spring peepers. Where I live right now I can’t hear either of those sounds, but I love them both so much. It was a great treat. In addition to your video. Thank you.
How is the guest house going. Would love to hear an update. It was great thinking on taking the chainsaw.
Dealing with the same in Winnipeg...The wind can F**k Off..
Like watching your videos Joe. But ive learned that i can’t watch on an empty stomach. When you guys are cooking, my belly starts growling lol
Hey Joe! Glad to see you are getting back to normal after your surgery. I am sure it was driving you crazy not being able to do everything you wanted like normal. I have a small question. Do you know if Melissa is going to do any more videos on As the Rooster Crows channel?
Yes she is, but it will be a little bit longer (no idea what that means time wise) until she does.
I see all these big Viking pro restaurant stoves for sale on Marketplace all the time. I am thinking about building a big outdoor kitchen and using those big stoves
ford radio still awsome
I'd take your truck off your insurance. My insurance is really easy to add it back for reasons like today, just a phone call and it's added. Only downside is it has to be insured for 30-days minimum. But the savings is worth it. 💖🌞🌵😷
How many people? If you all ate all that I am impressed!!!!! Holy smokes.
3 people and it is now Thursday and it is almost gone. We have ate it all week and have not had to cook since Sunday.
That Ford fired up after you changed out the brakes impressive for a blue oval!!!!!!
I see they haven’t touched a pothole in the super one parking lot …. For a few years now 😂😂
What are your thoughts Joe on putting a smaller wind turbine on the property to charge those back up batteries?
I have been thinking about this at my house as I live in the prairie lands of Minnesota. I swear the wind sometimes will blow you off your lawn mower some days.
Wind turbine might be another good option beside solar. To have both anyways to help generate that power when you happen to go off grid by choice or your random power outages.
Anyways just a thought. I love all your posts Joe. Thankyou for all that you share. Cheers!!!
We both think that wind would be a good option. Fall and spring it always blows here but summer calms down a lot. It would be a good thing to have along with solar.
Hobby farmer has a disc almost as large as his garden. I have learned that you love to tinker Joe.
I never expected to use the disc on the garden, just the fields but although its a short run, it is saving me a ton of tilling time.
Seafood all week👍
Just finished it last night (thursday) Time for this weekends cooking.
A cream separator? Are you buying a cow? I agree with you about the Ford radios, great sound.
Yes we are. We want a bred Jersey, preferably bred with either Angus or Hereford. The calf will get butchered 16 months later. Meanwhile, after she gives birth and the right amount of time passes we will breed her again so we have a beef for butcher continuously as well as milk about 9 months of the year.
Sounds like a plan.
@@NorthernSeclusion
Poor Joanie didn’t get to go to the cabin😢
That Tent video was great. It's a lovely area. Fish Fry, sounds good. How much can you expect to pay for a secondhand cream-separator, starting point?
👍👍
Cream separator? You don't have a cow. 😵💫. 💖🌞🌵😷
Have you ever thought about putting a flatbed on old blue? Could be handy on the farm.
They actually have an advertisement that comes up where you can buy a flatbed and then put it together yourself. They are only about a thousand dollars. I do think about that sometimes.
You love your old truck but hate that it’s so rusty…why not build a wood flat bed for the old truck? That’s a project I’d like to watch!
Are you going to add any of that wood ash into the garden (natural potassium)? If not what do you do with all that ash?
I put it on our very big compost pile. It will eventually make it to the garden.
Rubber bed mat is about 100.00 you will love it.
I totally agree with the stock Gordon dound system. I'm hoping through the same thing.. my Lsrist keeps trying to find my phone . But..... Mt truck is an 06. And my phone is a 2024. Android. They can't relate. . Go figure
We're my plate of chicken wings I love chicken wings 😊😊
About your old truck, have someplace put a new bed and fix the cab and paint.
I have 330,000 miles on that truck. I had the motor rebuilt at 151,000. The motor is excellent but she has done her time. No matter what I do, it still has 330,000 miles if I was to try and sell it.
Joe I believe you mentioned it in a previous video but can’t remember which one. The tool kit you have during the brake job, which one is that?
So you bought a greenhouse or another implement would be my guess.
Hey Joe! Did I hear grouse drumming when you were filling the cylinder up with fluid?
Yes. They are drumming constantly. Even at 3 in the morning if I go outside I hear them drumming.
Take the 1 ton and make it a flat bed.
Do you and Melissa eat ALL that delicious looking food? That’s a lotta chow!
It is now Thursday and it is almost gone. I have ate it every lunch and dinner since Sunday.
did you get the new steering wheel on the the tractor ?
Hey do u ever think of doing family get together at the tent like deer camp but during the summer I bet it will fun
Too far north and too many bugs. Lol. For some in the family that would be a really long drive to a place with no modern conveniences like running water and flush toilets.
@@NorthernSeclusion agree I got the same problem in my family cabin lol
Not sure if i missed it. How big is garden space, looking forward to your videos.
The new area is 35x50. the last years area which will be garden again this year as well is about 30x40.
We complain about 10-20 mph wind. 50 is damaging potentially.
You need a case to protect your chainsaw
Good video Joe . I have a suggestion for you Joe why don’t you buy a till and and a plow for the back of the farmall to make it easier on yourself?
Just found a plow today. Stay tuned, I will be paying for it later today. It is a 3 bottom hydraulic lift.
Noooooo, not birch bark 😂
Hey just wondering did you do both sides and just edit out the drivers side? And just wondering what happened to your half ton that you put the new tranny in do you not still drive it?
Love the tires and rims you have on the White Truck. What brand tire is that?
I would have to go look and it is getting late. email me this question and I will go look tomorrow. I put the tires on the truck shortly after I bought it but the name escapes me right now. homeandcabininc@outlook.com
I bet those wide tires are not very good in snow. Treads look worn down too.
I have a question. How many people are you feeding with all that food?!?!?!
Joe, do you still plan on selling the white truck and getting another one this year?
I would like to but right now, things are too busy to add that to my things to do list. Lol. The white truck runs like a dream. I would sell it for 25 grand but right now I am busy getting things done around here.
What was it you made in the muffin tin. Is there a recipe?
It is called Jacked up shrimp. I believe Melissa has a video on making it on the "As The Rooster Crows" channel.
Thank you. I think your right.
Joe love your channels. I love the content and must be in the minority because I am not bothered that Melissa isn’t in them. I don’t like being on video either.
Joe, does Melissa ever cook cajun food for you? Never see her doing that and was just wondering. Noisy.
Many many times. She cooks a lot of Cajun dishes.
How did you bleed the brakes by yourself
I never have to bleed them. If you use a vice grip and pinch off the rubber brake line about an inch from the end and then pre fill the caliper, making sure you jiggle it to get all the air out and make sure it is filled to the very top then screw it all back together and then un pinch the vice grip you only have about an inch of air that got in. I have been doing that for 20 years now and have never had to bleed anything since I started doing it.
I can feel another channel coming along called Joe n' Melissa's farm.
You guys sure make a lot of food for two people just saying
We eat it all week and if you watched the videos you would know that there is 3 of us living here eating that food.
I hope you didn't just do one side of the back brakes. I would have replaced all of the break cylinders and new rotors.
Maybe I would too if I was not still recovering from surgery. I do what I can right now.
getting a milk cow?
Are planning to buy a cow?
You planning on getting some milk cows Joe?
Possibly. We will see, lots of stuff to do before that can happen.
Is there only three people eating all of this?
Yes but we eat it for several days, It is Thursday now and have ate that every lunch and dinner all week. We have had to cook nothing since Sunday.
He cooks, does laundry, handles the garden, brakes, firewood, Melissa better watch out those small MINNESOHTAH farm widows going to kidnap h him for love slave😂 keep it up Joe!😮 I mean the good work...😅
Melissa does a fuck ton of stuff around here, she just does not like being in the videos so I follow her wishes. A love slave might be fine but she better be the type that likes a trio. Lol.
Bon! Well said Mon Ami
@@NorthernSeclusion didn't mean anything negative about Melissa it would be nice for ti see you two together like when she schools you fishing 🎣
@@NorthernSeclusion what kind of ton? Never heard that one.
Minimum coverage is all you need for the trucks you barely drive. Liability is all that's needed. If you had a wreak with full coverage, the insurance company wouldn't pay to fix your truck. They'd total your truck and pay you only the value of that old high mileage vehicle. Full coverage on old vehicles is great for the insurance company and bad for the one who is paying the premium. 😁
Boy you people eat like king and queens! Did the lady ever come for her trailer? When do you think you will get started on Melissa pottery room?
Yesss Joe. More interesting content and less weather reporting yawn 🥱
Nope... Lol. It is right now 39.3 degrees outside. It got to 61.7 today and it got down to 28.1 last night. The next 3 days are forecast to be cold, windy and rainy. Stay tuned to future videos for constant weather updates.
…… and you wonder why you only have 100K subscribers.
Yawn 🥱
Actually 350,000 if you combine both channels. Nice try. Right now, it is 43.5 degrees outside with a wind that is picking up and tomorrow there will be rain. Dumb ass comment.
@@NorthernSeclusion aaaannddd there it is, the redneck reaction. I was actually expecting a F/off. You give those away when comments aren’t stroking your ego. Interesting how you dish out comments and how you ‘HATE’ ( a word as an adult you use way toooo much) the way others do things and yet cant take constructive criticism. Annnyyyyways Joe, you aren’t afraid of work, I’ll happily and graciously give you that, also it’s super obv you enjoy the sound of your own voice.
Continue on with your weather reporting
I think I struck a nerve
Sorry, NOT Sorry
2 garages and no space to do your maintenance on your équipement 😢
Lighting is much better outside. I hate working on vehicles inside. Cant stand it to be honest. The garages could be empty and I would still have done it just how you saw it in this video. Take your sad face and put it somewhere else.
@@NorthernSeclusion "Take your sad face and put it somewhere else"- must have hit a tender spot, eh?
So sad to see all the hate in the comments. :(
I have not seen a lot of hate but then again, once I respond to a comment, and refresh the page, I never see that comment again. I can tell someone to fuck off and never see the response.
People just need to be kind.
If the rear pads were bad I can’t imagine what the fronts look like. You hauled that heavy fish camper and never looked at the pads first ? Yikes!
Until they start grinding, I see zero reason to look at them.
