- Taking down and starting to haul home the 25x50 greenhouse for the Farmhouse. Discing the garden with the Farmall M. Buying more fruit trees. The baby chickens arrive.
Slow day at the farm, Joes vacuuming the lawn
🤣
I'm glad he did because I'm working on a place that was built in the late 1970s and I don't know what was here before but I keep finding glass around the yard each times it rains.
Bad tractor, sit in the back pasture till you learn better.
Nothing like vacuuming the lawn! But understood, you got to get those little glass shards picked up.
Had to laugh when Joe hit the table. You could see "How am I going to explain this or oh my this one is going to be bad" written all over his face. Joe, I have been there and done that so many times. Sorry to laugh at your misery.
Now you know she’s going to fall in love with that cow and your going to have to build a barn lol
It will be a milk cow so it will be here a long time. The calves which will get butchered she will have to distance herself a bit. A barn is not needed but somewhere out of the weather is. A lean too type shelter is fine. I will build something on the back of the wood shed though for milking.
@@NorthernSeclusion We know who will be doing all the milking.
Joe your going to have to retire to do all that
@@NorthernSeclusion I would buy a portable milker. You can get some good deals on some used ones.
If angle those gangs more and put some weight on the disk ,it’ll cut better Joe. You’re doing a good job with it.
It’s called wiggle wire.
You made a good score you got all the goodie’s
Good luck with your new project
Looks like a new wood top for that table......LOL
It was "an accident"... lol
If it came up frm La, as Joe said, she may not want a wood top.....
I could hear the bloopers when the table smashed, lol.
Thanks Joe, the reaction from hitting the table was priceless.
That duck was wagging its tail like a little dog happy when you let it out lol.
Wiggle Wire is what I have always heard it called.(The Z Wire) Looks like a great deal, Exiciting times coming up.
Lol 🤣🤣🤣 vacuuming grass seen it all now bud 😂😂😂
My wife and I have 9 acres of wooded land here in SW VA. It is amazing how much damage deer can do. It is either the bucks scraping against the young trees to get rid of "rack fur" or the young ones not knowing what to eat, so they eat everything! We have 6 foot tall fences around all of our trees until the trees clear the fence. The deer will still clear (eat) the trees as high as they can reach!
The joys of cleaning up tempered glass.
I’ve definitely stopped at Doc’s a time or two and usually I’ll stop at Banning Junction to fill up with diesel since they have the larger semi truck pumps and it takes about 30 seconds to fill my truck lol
I get fuel there sometimes also. I always use the semi truck pumps. Even on a cold winter day you have no time to get back in your truck to warm up because the tank is already full. Lol.
Jam packed video, I love it! You’re a working machine Joe. Thanks for taking us along.
Joe, you’re the best example of how to get through a surgery, ever.
for some reason I said to myself that table is too close to the garden. nice video Joe. stay safe.
I said the same thing! 😂
wow Joe when you let the chickens out and i saw the Ducks come out too i couldn't help myself but to exclaim " What the Duck is that !!!! lol "
Poor Joe just works his butt off as usual 😅
I have same separator I bought years ago at a auction for having a farm antique on display
The cow will be the next pet
"Taking it easy", Joe style.
You are being watched from the woods, Mr. Sasquatch
Joe! You are gonna have to build a bigger basement, buy LOTS more jars, buy more freezers or all the above with garden that big! Some truck farms aren't that big!😊
Hey Joe and Melissa, this is gonna be an awesome year for you two, beautiful rainbow 🌈 sending nothing but blessings your way. Y’all are awesome and thanks for sharing! 👏👏👏👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🤩🤩🤩💯💯💯🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Great content as always, I think that Rigid vacuus have a lifetime warranty, look into it.. As you were discing the garden,I thought to myself why does he have rocks on a glass table, now I know, you really didn't like that table, stuff happens!!! That green House looks great, a few trips and a little work, be up in no time.. Stay safe and have a great day.🤓👍🤓👍.Randy..
Always love seeing an update on the fruit trees! The farm is evolving so much at the moment; it’s wonderful to see. Wish the weather would get better. It’s the same here in the UK. Crap!!!
👍👍👍👍👍😎🇨🇦🌱💫 The workshop looks awesome! 👌 My grandmother had a cream separator. Love those!! And, I love that farm!
nice video.
I don't think I've heard of anyone ever saying it was nice to see the ex,s. I'm glad you got a good relationship with them
Wiggle wire mate 👍
Joe- when the Doctor said "just take it easy"... did you start laughing right then and there, or after you got out of the meeting???? blah blah blah... the table......🤣
Good to know that we can grow Peach trees in MN! I'm 20 minutes from that Askov greenhouse. Definitely going to check it out, never been there before!
Joe great video. Man you are working on an awesome farm. Loving following you on the adventures
Great video Joe.🤩👍👍
I love everything you are doing--all smart plans for the future and your family. I'm thrilled to see that greenhouse. I know there are four season greenhouses, but not sure how to create them or make them safe in the northern climes. God bless you and Melissa.
Thanks Joe! Sounds like you got a deal on the green house and all the trimmings! Thanks for sharing! Take care!
Greetings from Northeast Ohio. I’m 75 years old. A woman. But I have learned so much about homesteading from Justin Rhodes from North Carolina. Never have one cow. That cow will be miserable and lonely. Buy a cow that is already bred. And buy a beef cow. And when you butcher the beef cow, buy another. Keep your milk cow at least eight years.
Good point, needs to get 2 cows
Just leaving Brainerd, starting to rain. I have a small greenhouse to put up. Looking forward to yet one more project you have to do! 🤣
Awesome!!
That 30 min drive sounds alot better then having the commitment to that milk cow. Really cuts into trips up north, ice fishing, hunting thats coming from experience
no vacations when you’re responsible for livestock
Love the greenhouse
GREAT VIDEO JOE!
Awesome joe
Great video Joe 👍👍
A trail cam on the trees might be cool
Joe you're a good man.
I'm so excited about your fruit trees and grape vines! I like apricot trees also. I'm thankful you have the raspberry bushes too, and strawberries! I love all that kind of stuff! Love your place!
Had to rewind the table scene a few times, your facial expression was priceless.
The little doodies are so adorable Joe❤. Great video. Yea, I'll say you'll have that green house up in the next cpl weeks and will have some of that sweet corn planted too😂😂. Tyfs God bless you
Big fan in South Carolina. Love the content. Be sage out there.
Be safe out there. Lol. This auto correct puts any words in there. Lol
Joe I often hear you say you may have to work tomorrow or I have to do a couple things for work. I always assumed you did construction and TH-cam. So I often wonder what you actually do. If you do not mind sharing. I have enjoyed your videos for many years now. Thanks for sharing!!
Trailcam on the trees
Yeah, I'm curious what's doing that to the fencing. Maybe Joe will catch Sasquatch in action.
@@charlesdeens8927😂
Thanks for sharing with us Joe and Melissa, lots of things going on for you all right now. Hope the weather allows you to stay caught up with your work. Stay safe and keep up the good videos. Fred.
Sure beats using a shovel!!
Joe hello my friend good to see you
Yay 🐄 😊
Greetings from Northeast Ohio. Why don’t you stop and visit your aunt and share your wonderful memories with her. I bet she would love it and you might too.❤️
I forgot how big those greenhouses are, it looks bigger than they guest house you are building! If you run a line from the boiler over and add some grow lights, you could grow some goodies over the winter. Or you could have a tropical outdoor space. Or both since it's so big. Lots of fun to be had with your new "toy" LOL
Looks like you got a good score from the farm you went to.
Joe was preparing for battle while gathering up the tools to take down that greenhouse! I thought for a minute he might go into the house and take the kitchen sink out and throw that in the truck too just in case!!🤣 Just kiddin' with ya Joe, I enjoy all your vids!
Hey Joe,
Just curious if you changed your job or what exactly mean by pick ups/deliveries? Love your vids love to you and Melissa! 🍻
Busted! 😀
I watch several homesteading channels. They have said that baby chicks can survive 3 days without food or water. I don’t know anything about it personally but it’s what I’ve heard on several homesteading channels.
torture
I enjoyed watching the video, and the greenhouse is hugh; where are my 3 furry friends 🐕🐕🐕.
I drove to Gooseberry on Saturday I saw so many deer and Grouse even in the wind and rain I thought that was a good sign for you.
I used to pull a 6 foot offset disc and an 8' tandem disc with my grandpa's little Ford 900 tractor. The 3-point hitch would even lift the tandem but it took a lot of weight on the front end to hold the steering wheels down. If you ever run across a cheap spring tooth harrow you might want to give it a try. They are lightweight, dig down quite deep, break up the clods and leave nice fluffy soil with a smooth surface for planting and water absorption. The harrow doesn't slice through grass and weeds like a disc however.
I think it’s called wiggle wire at least that’s what all the homesteaders call it.
Woohoo!
I’m in Detroit Lakes and we have your rainy cool weather.Have had it for a week! Where’s the sun?
We got a couple of hours of sun this afternoon. Rain will be here by midnight. Another inch possible.
I literally gasped when you hit that garden table. I've loved those tables since seeing them at the Louisiana house. I'd be in tears if I was Melissa.
Hey Joe, you may be dealing with the very elusive Sasquatch , aka Bigfoot . Ten feet tall and covered with hair. lol.
you are the best at starting new projects. i feel your pain about the wifes dogs. mine ate a chicken bone out of the campfire and i ended up paying for dog x rays.
Why not rototill the area where the glass was and plant some lovely flowers?
Melissa would never accept that. Lol. I broke it so I cleaned it all up.
Sorry we couldn't here what you said when you hit the table! LOL!
It is probably best that you didn't. Lol
I have Frontenac grapes here. They were crossed by the university of Minnesota to wake up later in the year and fruit earlier to avoid the frost damage. They crossed a General Foch (a french variety) and some other root stock. Rabbits destroy my fruit trees. especially my cheery trees. They just chew the bark like beavers. You even have to reconsider where you pile your snow since it they have a ramp they will eat further up the trunks too
I finally bit the bullet and got a 3 yard dumpster to replace the roll arounds like you have there. It only cost $3.50 a week more and is well worth the hassle of trying to fit everything into the roll arounds.
I have a plow packer and drill and I still have the fenders for the M if you are still interested have to look if it is a four or 3 bottom i'm sure it's a 14 inch plow i''ll check when it quits raining tomorrow
Should get Zack to help with greenhouse just to be safe . I know not heavy but big . If you put some weight on the disc you can do the field without plowing. That’s how we did it on the farm when we needed extra fields for planting and was plowing on a field at same time . We’ed put some nice weight on each disc and I would set them almost all the way to full cut run over the ground once then set disc to full cut and done just as nice as if we had plowed .
That shop vac should have a lifetime warranty through Home Depot
The wire is called wiggle wire. It for holding the plastic on.
That girl just stood there and watch.. 😂
👍👍
We are in Northern Washington State Joe. We have 2 Frost Peach trees that withstand the very cold temps and produce a ton of fruit. Try those for peaches.
With that glass, just take a generous width and breadth scrape of dirt with the tractor bucket a couple inches deep. dump in the woods.
And ruin my grass? Nope. Lol. Plus then I have all that glass laying somewhere in the woods.
Great video ! Really be interested to see WTH that was messing with the fruit trees ! Might have to set up another game camera facing over that way. lol. Take care Joe
three or four foot of snow would bend the fencing and put weight on the tree. or maybe with that much snow a raccoon climbed in and then out. hard to say I guess
I would have numbered all the pieces so they go back the way you took them apart.
Hey Joe! I think that is called “wiggle wire” that holds the plastic to the metal track.
One channel I watch they put two fences around their garden and orchard. The fences were spaced 6 feet apart. They said that it was to keep the deer out. That they couldn’t judge distance and so didn’t know if they could make it over the two fences. This was several years ago and the last time they talked about it they had had no problems with any animals trying to jump them.
The way he says “cafe” 😂
Joe … you should probably get your partridge now, so it will be ready for the pear tree when the time comes! Yes?
👍
That damn table jumped right in front of Joe's tractor! 😡
Jo you really need a roto tiller. You pull it with your tractor. It can bust the ground up much better than your tractor disc .
I live in western Wisconsin and I have 2 peach trees in my backyard
Melissa was going through and I was just saying yes, yes, yes, lol
The old Formal just keeps plugging along.
That's a bear in the fall hitting your fruit trees, they do it to mine too
7:35 oops......Melissa is gonna be pissed
Nice video, I enjoyed watching. You're lucky you got along with your ex-in-laws. No such luck with my in-laws. Going on 30 years and they still drive me nuts. lol
Those chicks can live up to three days after they first hatch it’s the craziest thing ever
