I am a diehard STYX fan from the early 80s' I fell into it (When I wasn't listening to Montrose and Sammy of coarse) at an arcade across from the High Screwal during lunch hour with a Juke Box tuned to "Mr. Roboto" while playing Space Invaders. I discovered the rest of it later on, my favorite album is Paradise Theater but still like the Wooden Nickel years. Regardless of what members and when, they all rocked and are part of the whole story and we will always cherish this Band as one of the best if not the Best Supper Groups of all time.
the only time I got to see them live was in Detroit in 1983 for the Mr Roboto concert it was amazing and I had been listening to them all through high school, It was just before I turned 20.
You were the only kid in America listening to Montrose in 1983 though...LOL. Even though they were total innovators, I guarantee you that NO ONE was listening to old Montrose records in 83, NO ONE.
No doubt about it, seen alot of Styx tours over the years. Last time was Jan 2020 at the San Jose Center for The Performing Arts center. My wife is from Thailand, she said they are huge over here, but sadly have never been here. She was ecstatic seeing these guys for the first time and told me everyone at College when she went played their music in the dorms all the time. I have some great pics of that show I took, if anyone wants to see them, give me your e-mail address, I will send to you.
I know Sammy really loves JY and Tommy, but the part Sammy leaves out is how in 83 he bragged that he “broke up Styx.” He performed at the infamous show 😂
I think Styx has played everywhere I seen them three times . Once in Ashland Kentucky about 7 years ago and it was free. Then I seen Santana in Vegas about 10 years ago that was a small venue of about two thousand people. Santana wife was playing drums .
Sammy. Your becoming a great interviewer. Sir you are defying aging. You could be the poster child for what positive aging can look like. You are the Dr. Phil of Rick. Keep it up sir
I had tickets to take my wife to see Kansas open for Styx at the Greek Theatre in '96, but it conflicted with my obligation to work seven 12-hour shifts in a row with San Diego PD for the Republican National Convention. No one was allowed to take time off unless sick and anyone who called in sick would be investigated for fraud, so my baby sister went in my stead! I almost quit the Republican Party over that fiasco. Fortunately, the manager of the In-n-Out Burger in Carmel Mountain Ranch felt sorry for me and played the Best of Styx CD over their intercom for me while I had my Code 7 break! Awesome consolation prize. A few years ago, my brother who has a catering business in Utah, catered for Styx and got a photo taken with Tommy to rub in the fact he's been backstage with Styx. I almost disowned him for that!
The interviews with Carrot Top and Don Felder were great. Sammy should have brought up being an adult and the best music with JY and Tommy. I'm so sick of the revisionist history from JY and Tommy. Dennis DeYoung was the goose that laid the golden eggs for Styx. You wouldn't know who JY or Tommy Shaw were if Dennis hadn't written Lady. JY is not Jimmy Hendrix and his stuff never hit the charts unless he cowrote with DDY. Tommy Shaw was playing in a bowling alley when JC quit Styx and Tommy got the call because of his time in MS Funk with the drummer from the Ides Of March. Dennis was not a saint and he does write excellent ballads but he also wrote songs like Come Sail Away, Suite Madame Blue, Light Up, and a bunch of other rockers. The thing that made Styx great was the diversity of styles and by kicking DDY out when he was sick in 1999, these two have forever destroyed the magic that came from a third of their diverse styles. They will never see the RoR HoF and that is on their own poor decisions. They need to get over themselves. Their run is nearly over. This is their last chance to give new generations what made Styx great in the 70s and 80s.

@@Arturo-sm1tb Wanna bet, I was listening to Montrose on records & cassettes
Don Felder… wicked guitarist. Preposterously modest. Perhaps Eagles finest musician
Don Rickles was my favorite Jew. Hey I kid cuz I love! He was a true American, he hated everyone equally. RIP Don.
Love Sammy Hagar I saw him in concert back in the 80s at wings stadium. I believe Krokus opened for him.
Shaw doesn't age. I remember giving Yiungban 8x10 I took of him on stage in the 80s
Sammy and Don had my two favorite songs from the Heavy Metal soundtrack!
I know Sammy really loves JY and Tommy, but the part Sammy leaves out is how in 83 he bragged that he “broke up Styx.” He performed at the infamous show 😂
Carrot Top is the goat. Literally.
You think that’s a wig?
Have to say, both these guys have aged well. Sammy looks like he is 20 years younger than his actual age.
Cosmetics does wonders.
Sammy and Don are the same age.

First true big rock band I saw that was soooo tight and not over the top 70's loud in concert. Im a heavy metal guy but man was it enjoyable.
I love Carrot Top and all, but the most Rock & Roll comedian (to me) is Mitch Hedberg.
Sammy is the man
Love Love love Shaws hair! :)
God Bless!!

Sammy needs a late night show!
First song I learned on guitar: HEAVY METAL! Won't you take a ride, ride, ride. On heavy metal! Tyvm Father Don Felder...
Styx definitely belongs in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. A real travesty.
And you’re fooling yourself if you don’t believe it!
Agreed!

Sammy was on Adam Carolla’s pod. He sold Cabo Waco for $100M. Sammy: “Well $85M after capital gains.”
Love these snippets!!
Styx. & Kansas. Best of American progressive rock
Like these guys.
A show filled with guitar legends and the background/bumper music sounds like a re re on a Casio
Not only does Henley not like Felder but I think he feels obligated to represent Frey's dislike as well..thats how fucked up those 2 were.
Don Felder wins it on living a good life after the Eagles, and aging beautifully 😍
So awesome the interviews notice sammy one hand wrist on the wheel so cool 😎
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥♥️ Oh Sammy I ♥️🔥CarrotTop⭐️ ♥️🥕Sweet Interview @IheartMedia
Awesome awesome 👏 and awesome awesome 👏 game thanks 🙏
carrot top is like mike myers))
Thank you sammy
Reunion of Heavy Metal for Sammy Hagar and Don Felder.
Speaking of Don Felder, he has some stories about the young Tom Petty, RIP.
His close friends call him JY, anyone else can call him Mister JVY. 😅 Cheers\=/\=/

The Red Rocker and the Redder Red Rocker, Carrot Top!
Wow, CT looks normal again.
Don is 77? Damn!!!
No comments about Heavy Metal?? WTF??
What have the Eagles done since they screwed Don Felder? One word NOTHING. Says it all.
Late happy, New year!
More Chicken foot!
What happened to Carrot Top’s giant muscles? I guess he realized exercising isn’t worth it 😁
He looks like a cartoon character past roids
Rip
Biggest names in Music and Lip Syncing
ok why does laryy gowan get no respect for as long he has been part of styx let us here you please
Don Felder should have kept his mouth shut.
Felder and Styx used to fill stadiums, and now they are a Vegas show. Kind of sad because it's the last chapter.
C-SPAN SWAMP DEMOCRAT OPERATIVES RIGGED CALLS 😉
It's like a convention of the least talented folks in rock and comedy.
Lol JY is a creepy looking dude
Never been to Vegas, but I'm strongly considering it now. 1:03
Don Felder looks like a handsome papi
Don singing with autotune on high is so fake and robotic. It's embarrassing.
what's with the JY thing we all know your name!!
some people might not know his name is Jonathan Yakitori
