Was never into punk, but had much respect for the energy & creativity. I would go to this in a heartbeat. Looks great! Sad that so many of the punk OGs (70s, 80s) are dead and gone. These people didn't live a clean life & it caught up to them much earlier than should have.
My brother's Hardcore punk band used to practice in my mom's garage in 82, it was pure FURY anybody remember "Radical Left " from Toledo Ohio! Midwest Hardcore thx Jason!
I think the greatest accomplishment that has been achieved by the opening of this museum is that it brings more bands together and shatters the conflict between generations of punk which in my opinion is for the better. I'm saying this and I'm a young 23 year old punk rock "elitist". But whatever bands in there I consider punk or not, I can wholeheartedly agree to treating music as something that unites people rather than ripping the scene apart. In the end, we all share a common belief in the freedom of expression. In other news, I'm pretty bummed I never got to see NoFX live. Thankfully, there is a next best thing here for those who are probably suffering the same fate as me. Odds are, our punk rock heroes will be at this museum waiting to give us a tour face to face. Meeting in-person and within arms reach to me sounds more ideal than just watching them play on stage only to walk out once they're done. Cheers! May the Ramones live on.
Awesome vid loved the CBGB entrance. I was fortunate to see at least one show there - the NYC hardcore band Godspeed (at CB’s) before the doors were closed.
Very cool Jason. I will definitely make the trip. I'm originally from the D.C. area and grew up with the local Punk/Hardcore scene in the 1980s. I'm sure it will be represented!
Thanks for sharing! Kinda hard to wrap my head around the idea of putting up a Punk museum anywhere else but in NYC. (I’m from north Jersey and go way back as well). But it looks like a great place to check out if you’re in Vegas ✔ They could have made one entire room dedicated to the Ramones!
Haha, first time seeing the outside of this place, and it's a nice touch that they're using Friz Quadrata as the font on the building (as seen on a gazillion Bad Religion, Black Flag, and Offspring album covers).
Looking forward to seeing this with the two ‘J’s’ tonight! Hope you are feeling a little better after your diabetes episode Jason lovely man? I did think of you a couple of days ago, my dear sis Gail also had a diabetes episode too. She for no reason went into HYPER, thankfully she had hubby with her, they had to call an ambulance her blood sugar read was 12 she was rushed to our A& E at hospital, where she was given the hugest bag of liquid drip in her arm that I’ve ever witnessed ( and I’m a very experienced hospital attendee having been born disabled with rheumatoid arthritis myself). Thank goodness sis is doing better but I did think of you and how ill you felt after Pretzelgate! I send much 💜 to you and hope you have your levels under better control now. Sending much 😘 to Johnny too ( but I bet you will not physically pass on my 😘😘😘 to handsome Johnny?!😉💜💜💜
I was born in early '78, so the >1990 sections are what I grew up with in Salt Lake City. I'll never, ever forget hearing Bad Religion's "Suffer" for the first time on Radio Free Utah late one Sunday night while my buddy and I were waiting for the Industrial Music Hour. NIN, Skinny Puppy, Ministry, etc. were our favorites during long, bleak, grey winters, but that shit moved to the back of the line quick to make room for fast, sunny California skate punk. (I still listen to "Too Dark Park" and "Pretty Hate Machine" at least once a year though, ha.) My insatiable obsessions with history, music, and even geography took it from there! Soon thereafter I moved to a small city north of Las Vegas and began driving down to the Huntridge Theater for killer shows, then driving the two hours home afterwards and somehow making it to class the next day. ANYHOO, all of this to say; there's a soft spot in my heart for Las Vegas and punk rock. I need to get down there asap.
Wow a Dwarves' poster. I've been 1ft from Nick Oliveri. He'd their bassist. Amazing dude. AMAZING Ramones' t-shirt. WOW. Amazing Ramones' stuff and Johnny Thunders and a bit of MC5. Awesome place. SUPER happy for Johnny that he's come into his own and can stay up until 11 at last. What a guy.
@@AgentBeans I didn’t end up going after all, unfortunately, I Got caught up doing something else that morning and had to get back to SoCal, but I’m going again next month to Vegas and I’m definitely going to check it out. I’ll let you know. 👍🙂
I bought a Ramones t-shirt in 1979 from a record store in the mall. They sold the shirts wrapped on a piece of cardboard the size of an LP. Unfortunately, I was too small to fit into it for a couple of years even though it was a “small”. I wish I knew where it wound up. Also, I’d like to see if there are any hardcore bands in the museum. There were a lot of stand-out NY and Midwest bands that deserve attention.
I wuz lookin' fer it, no Stooges, no MC5,,,I may have just missed it,,but proto punk should get a nod in a place calling itself a museum of punk rock..
Nice video man, museum looks pretty decent, a more grimy look may suit it better tho. You and Johnny looked like you were enjoying that Green Day bit, probably have more fun in a dentist’s waiting room! I take it they had some Stiv Bator’s stuff? Best of luck to the people who put all the effort in to create museum.
Isn't it funny how everything eventually no matter how extreme ends up in a museum. I mean the Sex Pistols actually scared the shit out of people at one time. I'm sure they never expected anyone to honor them one day. All the Ramones except for Marky are dead and yet we still have Howard Stern. What a weird world. I'll probably check it one day.
The only punk i like is dead Kennedys black flag have a soft spot for the ramones have some of markys personal lps i like mine little more chaotic lol !
This was cool. Anyone interested in Punk Rock history should check out, Pennsylvania Hardcore. The 30-year History of Pennsylvania's hardcore punk music scene. The town of Lansdale PA is featured a lot. I grew up there. Small town? It was better than NY, Better than LA.
Fat Mike is cool. NOFX is great west coast punk. Punk in drublic is a masterpiece album.
It was nice to see him so hands on at the place and he was happy to meet anyone there
Co-signed the Punk in Drublic comment. 1994 was a great year for music

Sadly there was a lot of addiction issues, but 3 out of 4 original Ramones died from cancer
Soo true great comment
You guys make a great team...your on to something brothers.wish ya all the luck in the world.stay safe on tour

Right on dude, so thankful for fat mike and everyone who contributed to the museum
What a pleasant surprise. Thanks for sharing.

Bad Brains !!!?
i guess i just missed any mention of them.
Should be one whole room for the greatest of hardcore.
Love that Jason is making sure east coast punk gets represented. The museum looks awesome!

Johnny needs to stay up to 11 as his amp already goes up that high - thanks for the tour!
Glad that the place seems to be a success, good for them =)
that box of Johnny Thunders tapes 👀
That might of been the coolest thing to me and it looked like his handwriting on the box

You and Johnny Monaco are the new dynamic duo of the internet. Love this shit! "If anything, I feel more like a pussy". LOL
Thank you!
excellent place, looks great
I enjoyed seeing this, the museum looks really nice done. 👍I love your"T" shirt,,,My favorite band.
One of the coolest things I have ever seen. So much work goes into something like this. Cant wait to come see it in person.
This place looks awesome. Hope to go someday

Another great video. Thank you Jason.
Nubs just casually hanging out (or working maybe) at 7:27
Loved this video, thanks for the tour, i am working too much to make it out there❤
I’m glad you liked it! One day maybe you can make it
Johnny needs to realize that wearing a Motley Crue hat to the Punk Rock Museum is actually one of the most 'punk' things you could do.
Impressive really❗ For starters ~ 💭 I would travel just for the Generation X ▪️ The amount of Memorabilia and all is Massive▪️
Once again another fantastic video. Thank You! How long did you take looking at everything?
Thanks! We probably spent a little over an hour, but could have easily spent a few hours
@@WasteSomeTimewithJasonGreen Did you mention the price of admission?

Could you imagine a Hair Metal museum? it would be a wig shop with spandex.
Super fucking RAD that they have the Triple Rock social club sign 11:28 mpls represent, RIP to the triple rock

Nothing says punk rock like a glitzy museum in Las Vegas 😂
meh, I'm waiting for the 80's hairband and arena rock museum
That's the Hard Rock Cafe in any town
@@jamesftoland nah not at all, the Hard Rock Cafe's and the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame are not hard rock at all anymore. It's all pop crap
Johnny inspired me to be a bit more punk. I stayed up until 11:23 and tore the "Do not remove under penalty of law" tags off my mattress...
Lisa Brownlee slipping in the "Jaws" reference. Definitely a noine outta 10. The smoke detector going off was not very exciting though.
Did they have anything with Wayne county
Are you sure that that is actually Johnny's LesPaul JR?
Solid video
good video long live the ramons
My favorite band, saw them 4 times.

Great episode Jason! I remember really into Sex Pistols and the Ramones. I never got why Green Day got so big.
No gg allin?
There has to be GG or the whole place is a joke.
We're the new York dolls punk,,I Remember that band,,they were good
sort of,not really, kind of, how's that?
Can anyone ansewer,my question, about the new youk dolls
You and Johnny need to guest on SNL. Come up with a skit

There's a PUNK ROCK museum in Vegas?!?.....you'd think it'd be in an area where PUNK originated
Jason, was the band “X” represented much?
They were, I believe they had a John Doe bass
Met x years ago have a record signed by them not a big fan but exene was cool
@@randymoran67 you should donate the lp to the museum :)

Forgot the plasmatics lol Wendy rules saw them in 81
Who in their right mind even tries to stay up until eleven.....you know with DVR and everything these days!!!
I ubered nubs about a year ago. Nice girl.
I don't think you have to worry 'bout the punks suing you. At least in Jello's case, his own band sued him.
Punk rock would a failed... We've had a punk shop since 1998 .. cash for chaos
