Replayability is important. I wouldn’t bother learning the rules to a game with only 10 plays in it. I want 40 plays minimum. My collection is 25 games, with 4-6 added per year. I’m 8 solo plays into Scholars and each game is different, some high scoring, some low.
I always find it interesting how much replayability factors in to people's game selections. Absolutely nothing wrong with the way you do it but given the kinda work we do, playing a game 10+ times is a rarity and as such we value replayability fairly low. If we get 8-9 plays out of a game and we enjoy it all the way through, couldn't be happier. Love that for different folks, how they approach the games they play can vary so much!

Discussion around 37:00 is fascinating. They are talking about the AI Scheme Card wherein they Deliver a Scroll and their card shows 1/2 Influence. I take it that the AI is then supposed to receive the Influence as listed on the player board (2 in top row, 1 in rows 2 and 3 in House of Wisdom). However, the rules on page 24 specifically state that the AI "ignores all icons printed on the 9 card spaces in the House of Wisdom." So I remain lost. Either the icons on the House of Wisdom sometimes matter, or they never matter. It can't be both things at once.
I’m also assuming it means gain 1/2 influence as printed on the board. Page 24 states the AI gains influence ”just like you would”. But yeah, it then goes on to mention the AI gains influence as printed on the AI card, as it ignores all guild icons printed on the board. I see no other explanation however than gaining 2 influence for a scroll placed in the top row and 1 influence for the second and third rows 🤷♂️

Well, that was weird... after the scholars did all the scroll translations in the games, the Murph's game collection got larger. 🥷
