The 0 degree and 3 degree referred to by RPM are for toe in, not anti squat. To change the anti souat on a flipped transmission you'll need to space one end of the transmission up a bit with washers while the opposite end stays flat with the chassis. This is how I did mine on my FWD drag slash project and it made a sizeable difference.
Except the RPM arm mounts are separate from the transmission, so you still mount them on the correct side, and they give the correct toe as state, 0* or 3*, as well as the correct anti-squat.
@@Guitardrumr I was able to confirm with RPM that the anti-squat is built into the hinge pin mounts, and as such, swapping the mounts side to side will solve the issue, given that one uses the 0 degree mounts as the 3 degree mounts will now yield 3 degrees of toe-out. I'll be swapping my FWD drag car over to the RPM case to take advantage of this as my current solution isn't very elegant and most likely doesn't work nearly as well as the RPM transmission case.
@@1i-rc I'm still not sure why you're mounting them on the wrong side to get 3* of toe out. If you mount them on the correct R and L sides, then they give the state 3* of toe in, as well as the correct anti squat. Flipping the trans around is independent of the arm mounts.
@Guitardrumr For my application the mounts need to be flipped, but you are correct, for MX Acres mounting them normally while the transmission is flipped will work correctly. I just got stuck in my FWD mindset and forgot to make the distinction.
That's awesome what you've done with yours. I am actually building something very similar but as a oval track sprint car. I'm using a Custom Works Outlaw 5 Sprint Car cage kit and custom works adjustable rear arms so they'll be plenty of adjustment. Only thing that sucks is I've had to rob parts from it for another racecar build. Hopefully I can get back on it soon. I remembered back in the 80's that we made mid motor cars a lot of of the gold pan and newer RC-10's so that gave me the idea to try it on a bandit What you've done is pretty impressive.
The car looks a lot better. I believe the others who mentioned the RPM blocks which are O degree and 3 degree are for toe in are correct. But, check to be sure. One local track outlawed the RPM blocks for oval because it gave an unfair advantage. Keep up the good work.
The hinge pins on the bandit are bigger in diameter than the slash, rustler and stampede. You can use the 3 degree blocks when you switch over to slash arms.
I ran my bandit with silicone ear plugs in the diff. I used about 1.5 ear plugs to pack in the stock diff and it feels almost locked until you drive it a few laps and work it in. This was on an indoor turf track. Also the RPM mounts are 0 and 3 degree toeblocks. They have 3 degrees of anti squat built into both of them.
Picked up a used 272r today at my lhs and I think I’m gonna attempt this swap on my slash. Since it has a sealed diff, im gonna play around with different oil in the diff and see what kind of luck I get with that. Curious about the ball diff in the stock magnum tho, I’d like to know your thoughts on how it feels vs a stock open diff on track. Keep it up man, Im loving this traxxas 2wd stuff!
I see they’re selling the drag slash diff housing for 15 bucks. I got one for my rustler project to try out. Supposed to be sealed. I’m going to try 500k and see wtf happens. Hopefully it doesn’t leak. The center diff on my wheeler is seeping a little bit from the gasket. Annoying but it’s ok. The traxxas projects are fun I also enjoy trying to make them run decent. Good luck.
Broski, I got the sealed diff from the drag slash. The bearings are too big to fit into an rpm case. At least the one I have. I emailed them to see if they have one that will fit it as I couldn’t find a solid answer. I don’t want to switch to a 272r case bc I use the 3 degree control arm mounts. 🤔 but that diff is so much better than a normal diff. I thought I could score the sealed housing and use standard diff internals. Nope. This new diff has a standard style spider and side gears. So currently haven’t found a way to get the drag slash diff into the rig yet. I wish traxxas would support their old ball diff. Anyways. Carry on.
Because your transmission is flipped, A ball diff won't work. It won't stay tight. Try a hot racing aluminum sealed diff with 60k fluid in there. I use one in both my Slash and Rustler, which I race on a clay track and it works great.
Don't get rid of the intro. That converted huffy beach cruiser is awesome. I bought the same one when I went on a road trip down to daytona. Brought it back home and turned it into a decent chopper. Also the outtro, whippin shitties on the atc.. premium 👌
0:01 To my knowledge you’re the only one who film a full lap like that.
This is pure entertainment in fukng good quality. This is GOOD

What he said. When backwards the rpm blocks will give you toe OUT!

That was me that shot ya that video on Facebook with the mid motor slash! 😄 cool to see you implemented it!
Gives ya some tune ability too!
Yes thank you for the advice!!

Keep em coming brother. Entertaining and informative.

Awesome work, when's the slash 4x4 build gonna be done buddy
Me and my brother have joked about a dual motor 4x4 slash build xD with a trans up front and in the rear

Could you not just put the ball diff in the other way?
@@vivos71one would think. But no it doesn’t work that way unfortunately 😢
@@johannjoesten648 interesting, I thought it was only one way diffs that couldn’t be flipped
wait why where you over on 18 at 3:36 going the greenville direction
Why not first try thicker diff grease before spending money on a ball diff?
that is my thought also that a ball diff would make that problem of diffing out eaven whorse then go for like thick litium grease in a gear diff.
I have. And I also already have a ball diff.
I’m actually not too awful far from big dogs about an hour west sunbury-butler area is there a ramp for a wheelchair to go up to the drivers podium
What dremel tool is that?
Some junk thing from harbor freight. It’s gutless. I wouldn’t recommend it.
Bro has hit up BDRC every other day this week, it seems.
Judging by the bottle of “beats juice”. I guess your gona be selling it? Let’s hope you don’t get sued by “Beats”
Lol OMG you still stuffing your face on camera and messing with that old bandit? 🐖😆
Ahhhh ya!
Now your gonna find it underpowered.
I give up

It’s pretty easy to change the channel. Actually quicker and easier than leaving a comment.
