I don't race RC but appreciate these videos! They show set-up and some behind the scenes which is great for someone considering trying the hobby but not knowing what's really involved.
I'm fairly new to the hobby and have been running on a clay track; haven't started racing yet... What is it you don't like or miss about running on carpet...?
I have a bandit that I just recently got- to replace my super old one I had when I was a kid that turned to dust years ago... Was toying with the idea of getting a Serpent kit, but honestly these Bandit videos make me want to do some wild stuff and turn mine into an absolute demon. Thanks for making these, man!
Arcs hobbies track is a bout 15 minutes from my house! I wish I could get other more often to try and learn to race but with lack of vision it's hard! Great video!!!
I bought a Bandit back in 2000. Orange front with checker rear body 2 tone. Original came with the 20T motor and mechanical ESC. My first RC so it still looked weird to me. Lol. I put a 9t motor in it and kept melting batteries. I didn't know back them. Lol. Then I bought a Sportweks Mayhem Nitro and the Rlectirc cars went into hibernation. 24 years later I can't believe people are still running Bandits. I am pulling her out to put a new setup in her and my second Mayhem I am converting to brushless. 10 years ago when parts were still plentiful for the Mayhem/Turmoil cars I completely bought alot of spare parts and completely replaced most of the parts on both Mayhems. I replaced the chassis with the thicker Turmiol forward center of gravity chassis on both. The Mayhem chassis was too thin and at the dirt track I just kept folding the chassis. So I changed them. Lol. I am going to have to find a universal conversion mount (brushless) for the 1/8 th scake Mayhem. Can you recommend a decent one that doesn't cost a stupid amount lol. And also a esc and motor combo that's pretty good but not crazy expensive. 3s,4s,6s which ever. Thank you. Your Bandit was bookin it lol.
I just put a ball diff in my bandito and it made a heck of a difference. Feels more consistent with entering and exiting of the corners. Keep up the freaking awesome content 👍
To make that bandit corner better with way less understeer try using slash front arms and caster blocks. You can reuse your tie rods. The suspension geometry and front track are slightly different from the bandit arms. That bandit will have more neutral handling. Im also running traxxas green dot progressive rate springs up front and Traxxas black dot progressive rate springs in the rear.
Hoping you see this comment for this is an older video. I loved your bandit series!! What rear wing is that you’re using? I never heard it mentioned in any of the videos. Thanks!!
Just getting into RC racing, my son is running the bandit, what size weights did you use in the front? We were using wheel waves, but could not find a happy medium.
I’m stocking transmission with grease. It was basically stock in this video with different esc and 21.5 motor and rear seat bar. It definitely needs attention to be a carpet racer and I’m working on it now.
Any build sheets or cheat sheet for carpet for the bandit. We ran stock bandit at the local carpet track today it would push through the corner. It was so hard to steer.
@@extec101 that's what I was thinking, I believe they came out in 1995. It seems the new ones have been the the same design all these years. And parts are readily available. I have my original JRX2, but if I break something while racing, I may not find a replacement.
@@aguyinnc2865 what i know is that the design of bandit is not changed more then slight different chassi tub changes during the years tho the quality of the plastic is a huge improvment, old first used plastic where brittle compared to whats used today.

I both miss and don't miss carpet racing a lot.
I always love when one of my favorite channels comments on one of my other favorite channels!

@@shawnwarner2609 For me it's easier than dirt. Less clean up and such.
Your RC channel is top tier ! Traxxas should send free Banditos with all the upgrade parts .
King of Bandito !
Sickk! Good job eating that carpet…I mean racing on carpet.
awesome racing with you man!!! Need to come out again
Gotta love that BANDITO 🎉

Great track and great people
Come on out and I’ll have a car you can run.

"I have a slipper eliminator on there" Car proceeds to slip across the glass, that didn't work lol
Ya motor at the end reminded me of an Ex girlfriend I dated from back in the day.lol.✌️
The Bandito looks pretty well composed on the track. The other buggies were fairly planted too. I may have picked up a second hand Bandit btw......

Where did you get the bandito ball diff? I can’t seem to find one.
I found it on Ebay price was around $60 traxxas #2520. Also Mip racing has a ball diff kit #8116 shows that it fits a 272 magnum trans.
Thank you!
Whips r sick man
Great video…🦾😎🎄ps your solder job looks pretty good on that motor 😎🦾😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣🍻🍻🍻🍻
I’m getting better in my older age.

Thanks. It’s a trimmed down ae wing or concepts. Rear mount is a tekno eb410.
Go Tuna ra ra ra!

They are 5gram weights I bought at the hobby shop. Not sure on brand.
great vid. what upgrades/mods have you done to bandit ? are you running basic old transmission with grease or did you upgrade it?

What sway bars you running? I hope it’s not that nightmare of a setup hr sells. A guy could do 20 videos on installing those
Yes hot racing
So let me get this straight your gonna run a 12 turn motor in a 17.5 stock race lol 😂
12 t brushed .
Hey, what are those shock tower protectors called? Thanks.
You're gonna cause me to buy a Bandito. Wonder if they qualify for Vintage racing?🤔
bandit first came on the market mid 90s so the construction is old and should qualifie if the limit is 30 years or older.

What brackets do you use to hold the wing on?
I’ve just never liked carpet oval or off road
didnt u have a custom painted body for the bandit?
Yes. But I wanted everyone to realize it was a bandit that day 😂
So a battery question. Do you put the stock esc in lipo mode when running the non Traxxas batteries?
It’s been awhile since, but I don’t think I did. Better check with the manual. Don’t take my word for it.
Are ready to run as good as a kit?
I told you you'd like it with 21.5 on carpet 😎
How did you mount that rear wing? Part numbers?
Tekno eb410 mount
These has the 272 magnum pro transmission?
The older gray transmission
