- "I decided I wanted to give CrossFit a chance, and I'm really glad I did," Annie Thorisdottir says. "I think it couldn't have turned out any better. Really happy with it."
Join filmmaker Sevan Matossian as he follows 2011 Reebok CrossFit Games winner Annie Thorisdottir back at her box in Iceland, CrossFit BC Island. Thorisdottir reveals more than ever before about herself as an athlete and coach.
Thorisdottir credits her background as a gymnast for much of her success in CrossFit. She started coaching gymnastics at age 15 and has been coaching CrossFit for almost two years.
In addition to her fitness pursuits, Thorisdottir is a full-time student studying chemistry.
"I wanna study medicine. I just haven't had time for it," she says.
Thorisdottir has been even busier since returning to Iceland.
"After the Games this year, like, everybody in Iceland knows what CrossFit is," she says. In fact, the popularity of the sport means she has even had to turn down new clients due to lack of space.
Thorisdottir says her routine is to train twice a day, with gymnastics, mobility, and technique in the morning, and strength, heavier technique, and met-cons in the afternoon. She also shares info on her nutrition and supplemental training, which periodically includes yoga.
"I'm excited about next year, and I'm excited about competing next year," Thorisdottir says. "I wanna win, of course, but it's always the thing: You're getting better, everybody else is getting better - you never know." - กีฬา

She is a rare person indeed. The more she speaks the more you realize how rare she is. I will be showing some of this to my boot camp girls and ladies. You can't help but be inspired by her.

Awesome just does not describe the level of commitment, fitness, agility and dedication seen here. The varied parts of her workouts, from gymnastics through yoga and crossfit certainly has an all round effect on her whole outlook to health and fitness and to ultimately competing in the games. Fantastic video to watch and take inspiration from.

These trials test every muscle strength wise and endurance. It actually has a test for EVERY muscle you have in your body. Its an insane challenge.
Someone capable of performing a full range of fitness activities better than anyone else.

What an incredible documentary. I think the obvious take home message is that the fictional super hero "Thor" should no longer be considered fictional. He must have have gotten a woman pregnant which produced a baby to grow up to be Annie. So thanks to Thor and Annie's hard work we now have another avenger.

It makes up for the fact that in reality I've never been able to do anything with my life but play with Gi Joe figures and that I have no college education whatsoever.
You are right, it is a bold statement to say "fittest on earth" but they basically go over 10 components of fitness which are: Cardio, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, agility, coordination, balance and accuracy. If you train in freestyle wrestling you would probably kill it in this kind of training tho! Its basically just high intensity training with the factor of competition.

Speed, power, endurance, stamina, accuracy, coordination, flexibility, agility, and balance.
Some bodybuilders/powerlifters may be greater in areas than a crossfitter. Some runners may be faster, some olympic lifters may be quicker and more precise. No crossfitter boasts eliteness in one field, but an elite balance over all aspects of fitness.
