Alternate Podcast Title: “Eric Helms and Greg Doucette discuss why Beta Alanine is better than steroids, why everyone should eat 1200 calories, and why moss is boring and dumb”

What about chronic beta alanine consumption depleting taurine levels?

If you appreciate complexity in music, I highly recommend Thievery Corporation and Bonobo (two of my favs!)

Really thoughtful. I asked the question about calorie counting in Facebook group. I thought you answered it beautifully here. Extending some understanding towards people who are struggling with getting the right calorie target for their goals, while sticking to the underlying principles of weight loss and weight gain. This seems like a much more constructive approach, rather than implying malice/laziness on either side.

My fitbit is off by roughly 1500 calories when I hit my average number of steps. I eat between 2500-2700 calories a day and I've been losing between 1 to 1.5 pounds a week. Which means I'm in a 500-750 calorie deficit on average. My fitbit estimates my tdee is 4700-5000+ on average.

My fitbit consistently tracks my energy expenditure within a error margin of +/- 15%, max off during last 3 years was about 25% after prolonged cut. However, i use a body scale which underestimates my body fat by about 5%. I guess i am lucky.

Imagine if you had to get your whey dose and timing correct or you get uncomfortable tingling. I wonder if Eric would enjoy Kingston Wall. Could be a total hit or total miss.

Great video, found it very funny after it was mentioned the TDEE estimations section went on too long, then it went for another 10 minutes 😆

Is there a way we can use your spreadsheet to generate a more accurate estimation by going through certain steps?

Besides exercise science, nature/biology is one of my biggest hobbies and I didn't know that about lichen! Also, Radiohead has been one of my favorite bands since I was a teenager, guess I'll have to check out Wilco. 🧐
