Does anyone remember Pat Riley making a guarantee that the Lakers will repeat after winning the 1987 World Championship?

Just seen an article claiming Pat Riley never won a championship without “generational talent.” Well, for that matter, neither did Phil Jackson, Steve Kerr, Red Auerbach or Greg Popovich. I don’t believe there has ever been a pro basketball coach or team that has ever won multiple championships down through the years without having “generational talent.” Any takers out there? Please, enlightened me! And I’m not a big Riley guy either, I just wonder where some of these clicks come from. Most teams without generational talent usually slip in and get one every once in awhile. Larry Brown with that Piston team with Chauncey Billips and Rasheed and Ben Wallace. Solid players but not generational.

There are 3 coaches that serious NBA fans consider the Greatest of All Time. Pat Riley is one of them. Add to that his excellence as an NBA team executive, and it's easy to call him the "Mad Genius" of the NBA

If Pat Reilly saw how he was portrayed in the series "Winning Times", he would go nuts.

In my opinion, NYK could have won a title if the thsn management listened to Riley's suggestions for improving the team since they already made it to Finals. They should've learned that there are times they need to listen to one who knows what's going on in the hardcourt than just sitting behind their desks.
