This was my first PC that I bought with my own money back in about 98, my uncle sold it to me after he was done with it.
The only difference on mine was that I had the non-colour model - it had a grey scale screen instead. Didn't stop me playing Doom on it until I accidentally set the BIOS to require password on boot and then forgot the password.

Recently I'm feeling sentimental, and I would love to get one of those and that resulted in finding this video. That was my first computer and I've started learning programming on it as a child (I think I was 8 when I got it). My 44 had a monochrome display, which came with two settings knobs on the screen bezel, for brightness and contrast, although I could get colors with an external monitor. Trackball I've kinda hated, as it required constant cleaning up, due to becoming greasy fast and that was making it inoperable. I loved the hum of the hard drive of that otherwise silent laptop. Nowadays it would be nice to try to convert it to SSD.
It was a lot of fun with Turbo Pascal and some assembly, having VBE and graphics card that IIRC even allowed 16-bit 800x600 and I thiiink the sound card has been Sound Blaster compatible (I had some books on programming that), but I'm not that sure anymore, maybe that part of adventure required another computer, mmm.
I love it. I want it. And I'd definitely go with the color LCD one. Maybe yours takes too much space and you'd like to get rid of it?
