Are. I love everything you do and can’t express how thankful I am that you share your patterns for free. I’m totally obsessed with making the cardboard furniture. Almost have everything to put in cardboard house Looking forward to start that project. Recently retired and having so much fun with your projects. Thank you, thank you
I finally got to watch some of the cardboard house series, and I am so amazed at how genius your ideas are. But not surprised in the least.. The crayon candles ..omg that cuts my polymer process in half and saves my expensive clay! High Five Girl! Also, I add a black piece of wire for the wick, and would still work just as well with these "crayondles"!!! I would absolutely get addicted to making those....your shelves with books and dripping candles were my fav, I'm gonna make sets of those asap and def try to incorporate some of this in my room diorama I have started, since I'm already using some of those materials. And the lil' fairy dog, first of all those wings.. brilliant! Thank you for showing off this lil trick... and the pink was a perfect toner, to balance out that orange! O' and thank you for showing me how to strengthen my card board, that's going to be really helpful while I'm working with my diorama,🥰 Love it Ara 💕
I am so enthralled with your videos. My father made beautiful doll houses but passed away before he could finish one for me (Many years ago). But he left me with the amazing love of miniatures. Thank you for sharing your creativity and wonderful humor. I thought I would suggest a bird feeder for the cardboard house. I watch hummingbirds from our windows and could just imagine one hanging outside the window of the cardboard house.
Love your videos. I’m making Hogwarts Castle for my grandchildren. I’m now watching your videos. Just love them . I use a lot of recycled items and thrift shop finds. I’m a retired teacher. Teachers are good at reusing hahaha and being thrifty. So impressed by your creativity and enthusiasm . I love creating too. Thank you so much Ms. Bentley so grateful ❤️🙏❤️
That crayon as a candle is BRILLIANT!!! now I need to have a crayon hunt, see if my brothers kids has any they don´t want! ;D oooooor just buy a pack! Your way of making the books were very simple but oh so effective, I wish I new this approach a few months back! And I LOVE the shelves! :D 💜 BEAUTIFUL work! 💜💜💜💜💜
I am so glad you like both techniques! Have fun with the candles... don't tell anyone but I have made more since this video has gone up.. they are just too fun🤣🤣
I just love this little cardboard house. It has so much character. It's positively oozing atmosphere and charm. The shelves. The details of the books and book stacks and the candles. The little dog... let's not forget the dragon or Ms. Periwinkle herself. :) Everything is magical. I know you're having a fun time creating these details because I'm having a great time watching you create. Absolutely awe inspiring. I've been smiling the entire time I've watched. It's like being transported❤️
I’ve made several of the cardboard/matt board pieces and I can see my improvement with each piece. I absolutely love the crayon candle idea! I can’t wait to try that. Thank you for the tips and tricks! ❤
@@BentleyHouseMinis oooh Texas, I'm from England and have seen videos about Texas lol. Yes l can imagine it would be frowned upon in such a religious state 😬

I am having so much fun watching you make the house and furniture and now the books and things!! I have a grandaughter that has 6" figures that she poses and takes pictures of them. I want to make her things that she can use in her pictures lol. I am going to be starting now so that I can have something for her for Christmas lol. Thank you so much for these tutorials! You are so talented and I love it! ;)
adding a clip of black wire into the candle as a burnt wick, adds authentic detail. Just hold the clip of wire with plier heat the wire and plunge into the wax.
I think you need a cat. Miss Periwinkle needs a cat to keep the rodents down, and to warm her lap in the winter. I love the books and candles. I own thousands of books, sadly most are currently in storage. What I have inside are mostly unread books and that's only a few hundred... maybe I have a problem? The rugs are adorable, you have such talented viewers...
I Loved this video! Card board house is coming along wonderfully.GREAT JOB! I think some pictures for the walls (ART) and some food in the kitchen will really bring a lovely touch to personalize the setting. like what does she eat and drink?A lovely tea set and cookies!!!!
NOW I know where old crayons go to be resurrected! And in such a charming manner as well. Your method of creating books is just what my library ordered - I need a slew of books, but refuse to pay for commercially made ones...................now I don't have to pay for them, AND I don't have to spend the few years I have left making them!
I can't tell you how excited I was when the crayon method worked... I literally had to tell myself to stop making them lol! So glad you will be able to use the book tutorial George!
I had four kids in school at once. Believe me, I know about the crayon thing! 😂 After our youngest went to high school, we donated all of them to the Art teacher. She was VERY pleased. 😂
Great job on the books! Wonderful techniques! I LOVE those candles! I must remember that! Cute puppy! Well done! Keep up the great work my friend! Have a better day!
Really effective detailing, and your procedures are both elegant and well explained. A couple of comments: For the candles, I'd be tempted to use a soldering iron rather than an open flame. Gets you very good control over the part you're melting without quite as much "Oh no! The house is on fire!: risk. For sculpting small details, you might think about using epoxy putty (A+B/"Green Stuff", Milliput, Magic Sculp, or Apoxie Sculpt are common choices). They give you the working time you need while not needing baking to set the final form. I'd also recommend a wire armature inside whatever sculpting medium you use; it attaches much more securely to the base sculpt as well as providing better durability for thin, fragile parts.
Man.... i am going to have to try and make these tiny candles and books and it feels like a gateway drug into miniatures of all sorts. I am starting a night job in january and on my off nights will have many long hours when no one else is awake. I can sense the new hobby arriving....
Eleanor did a beautiful job on the rugs and throw. As a teacher I can attest to the volumes of broken crayons we end up with - what a great use for them! .. Ohhh, names- Tangerine? Coral? Apricot? Peach? It's such a sweet fairy puppy :)
i LOVE your channel. making cardboard boxes as i watch this video. just getting into making miniatures, and its very discouraging to see some of the amazing materials other people have access to, like cricuts and 3d printers. so glad to have found your channel
Welcome to the channel and to the miniature art form! I also use machines every now and then when I need the help but I try to keep things balanced and get in plenty of hand made things too. The machines can be helpful but not necessary to make cool things!
This is such a nice way to make mini books. And here I was working on my miniature bookbinding. :} Plus now I found a use for my broken and unused crayon collection. And finally we see the fairy dog. Love to Eleanor for those beautiful rugs. They look amazing. :}
Wow you are good. The books are very cool. But the candle idea is spot on. I get it about the crayons Sunday school is the same so is Scouts. Ofcourse with Scouts you can save them for a badge project. The doggie fairy is v very cute.
Tiny accessories make all the difference. With each new addition, the house is coming more and more alive! I think it would look cute if she had some artworks on the walls (like those decorative plates and cross stitch works old ladies often have), maybe some magical houseplants or flowers, decorative cushions, and a tiny tea/coffee set with pastries. Oh! And food/water bowls for the doggo, of course. :3
Wow this house is really coming to life now ..The carpets were a beautiful addition as well as the tiny blanket ..Loving the new bits you added today too ..Just beautiful Are you adding some curtains and some tiny paintings to the wall too as well as some flowers to make it feel homely as I am sure miss Perrywinkle would have flowers in her home 😀
I saw a tutorial where the artist used hot glue sticks, cut them down to various sizes, then melted them for the wax down the sides, she also cut a tiny piece of black thread for the wick. They looked great, just as fun as yours!
IMO you're still an art teacher : ) And an excellent one! I really love your calm patient attitude and your honesty about when stuff doesn't work and how that's okay. I am enjoying this channel a lot, it's very soothing and inspiring. I'm remodeling a slightly LESS tiny house than your projects (a camper) and if you haven't I recommend you try DAP's Fast N Final spackling compound just to see how you could apply it to your projects. (No, I don't work for them, lol) You can get a small tub of it that seals WELL at Walmart for roughly the cost of a cheeseburger. You can wash it off (when wet!) of fingers or tools or fabric with water, and it's a VERY light fluffy texture, fine-grained, sort of like a face cream almost, or that whipped cream cheese? There's no discernable wetness to it, either, I don't think it would make paper edging or similar "soggy" and mess up your design. It dries pretty quickly if not applied deeply, and a few smooths over with a tiny bit of fine sandpaper fixes any issues. You can build it up over several layers also. But the real magic here is how very light it is. I admit I've never worked with drywall compound like you're using but just watching you do it it looks kind of weighty-wet-heavy, which is good I'd imagine in certain applications, but if you wanted to have or repair something delicate like, oh, a fine balcony rail or something, fairy wings, an ornate trellis, etc, or work with a very fragile material that can't take a lot of weight and still look right, the DAP might do you just fine. The final result is somewhat soft, so not for lots of handing, but that very softness makes it really easy to blend edges and repair complicated shapes. I'd like to try your "now coat the whole thing with glue several times" thing to see if it can harden it up once in shape! And if it doesn't work for your art, well, you said you have kids, lol: It's amazing for filling in a ding in a wall. I just clean the spot with strong alcohol, put it on with my fingers and use like a credit card or something to tidy it smooth. Touch up with matching paint and you're done! I even filled in where I took out light fixtures with this stuff, and it's holding for over a year now and is almost invisible.
I am so in love with your candles! I want to make them NOW! Iol You are the best and so creative! Thank you for always being happy and positive in your videos.
Without the notifications, I've missed several videos, darn it! Love the progress you've made, especially the dragon and pup. Butterscotch would be a lovely name if you haven't already named him/her. Also, Elanor's housewarming gifts are wonderful additions. And, one more thing--there is no such thing as "too many books!"
love these miniature's. just a couple of thoughts to do the candle drips what about using an old glue gun put crayon through the back as you would a glue stick and drip as you normally would. add a burnt wick by cutting a thin piece of wire painted black stick into and glue into center of the candles. for the books before making the covers to add a leather look to some scrunch up the strips and unfold to look like worn leather then make your covers and cover with the pva glue or modge podge to add a sheen.
If I could shrink myself down and actually walk through this beautiful house, theres no words for how amazing that would be. This home looks so cozy and has so many amazing little details, I just wanna put the house on one of those spinning tables and look at it all day 💖
Loooove books like this..and love your technique...books r always my fav..that tiny shelf is precious! Make a old blanket stand for corner of bedroom and fold that blanket over it..I can think of a lot of orange type names for the dog but I agree with SuzanneDuncan marmalade is the cutest..great job Ms ELEANOR on the beautiful pieces u sent Ara...I hope this isn’t the only cardboard house u do Ara..
I wonder if you could glue the loose end of the magazine strip, cut out your book, and repeat until you get to the magazine binding. Then if the math doesn't work our, decide whether you want to use the binding or the one you glued yourself (at this point in the video it looks like you only got one book out of the magazine). :) Love your channel! I could watch you make 1000 cardboard houses! The joint compound is so satisfying!
It’s all coming together beautifully, the crochet blanket could be draped over the couch.Miss Periwinkle could drape it over her legs on a winters nigh whilst reading one of her books. You could mute the blanket colour by dipping in black tea if it’s too bright for Miss Periwinkle. I must admit rugs give a home a cosy feel to it. ☺️☺️
Really, really love this! What about some wall hangings, tapestries, paintings etc. This would really add some more of Mrs Periwinkle’s personality to the house!
I absolutely love the cardboard house! I love the crayon/candle idea the best. The way you made the books was cool as well. I look forward to your videos every week! I wish I could hold off watching them till later so I dont have to wait as long between videos but i never can. I have to watch it as soon as i see the notification. Lol.
Love your channel! Your idea about the candles from crayons gave me one. It makes me think of making a group of candles out of paper rolled into tube of various heights. The opening would need to be big enough to add flickering fairly lights by placing them inside the tubes. Dripping the crayons down around the sides and just enough over the hole would give a really cool effect. I don’t know if there is enough heat from fairy lights to effect the candles. It might be worth a try.

I am so in love with your candles! I want to make them NOW! Iol You are the best and so creative! Thank you for always being happy and positive in your videos.
Thank you Robin! Minis are definitely my happy place! And right now I know we all def need a happy place💖😊
Oh so cute! I can't wait to make candles and books!
Thank you so much and sorry about the notifications :( Oh-youtube. And I def agree about the books lol!
I love the crayon candles they are so realistic looking
Make a blanket stand for the bedroom. That would be adorable.
Quilt rack?
Rainsong T same thing.
love these miniature's. just a couple of thoughts to do the candle drips what about using an old glue gun put crayon through the back as you would a glue stick and drip as you normally would. add a burnt wick by cutting a thin piece of wire painted black stick into and glue into center of the candles. for the books before making the covers to add a leather look to some scrunch up the strips and unfold to look like worn leather then make your covers and cover with the pva glue or modge podge to add a sheen.
If I could shrink myself down and actually walk through this beautiful house, theres no words for how amazing that would be. This home looks so cozy and has so many amazing little details, I just wanna put the house on one of those spinning tables and look at it all day 💖
Aww thank you Don! I often wish I could take a stroll through mini projects!
Thank you for the awesome ideas Cheri! I would love to do another cardboard house sometime! ;)
I agree I think it would look great on the couch! I will give it a try!
Really, really love this! What about some wall hangings, tapestries, paintings etc. This would really add some more of Mrs Periwinkle’s personality to the house!
No words girl.just love love your work.🙂💞
Thank you! 🤗
I just made the candles and they where so easy to make and they look gorgeous!
Yay! I am so glad it worked for you!
I absolutely love the cardboard house! I love the crayon/candle idea the best. The way you made the books was cool as well. I look forward to your videos every week! I wish I could hold off watching them till later so I dont have to wait as long between videos but i never can. I have to watch it as soon as i see the notification. Lol.
Thanks so much! 😊 I wish I could make more videos for you!
I just found this channel, love all the ideas!
Welcome to the channel!
Liked! Little flying poochwinkle......hmmmm.......Mr.Punkins?
Love your channel! Your idea about the candles from crayons gave me one. It makes me think of making a group of candles out of paper rolled into tube of various heights. The opening would need to be big enough to add flickering fairly lights by placing them inside the tubes. Dripping the crayons down around the sides and just enough over the hole would give a really cool effect. I don’t know if there is enough heat from fairy lights to effect the candles. It might be worth a try.
Great idea!!
