Sorry I had to! I honestly loved watching this video so much. Of course I'm a tad biased but I've been dying for months waiting to see what you made and it was so worth the wait. I feel guilty that I added so much to mine lol I feel like I cheated you. I'm glad you like the earrings I bought them long ago and never had a chance to wear them so I was hoping you'd find a use. So glad they actually got to be real accessories for you!!! They look beautiful. I'm so blown away by the end result and how you used all the materials I sent, I think you should totally create a fairy tale home now! Each room can be a new theme representing your favourite childhood fairy tales or remembering the most special moments with your grandparents and your storytimes together. Thanks so much for doing this collab with me, it was a ton of fun. 🤗
I heard my Granddaughter screaming “GRANPA! GRANPA! GRANDPA!” and I almost broke my neck running into the house thinking she’d cut off her hand or something. Instead she shows me her tablet and informs me I have to make her a Princess and the Pea bed for her doll castle. Once my heart returned to semi-normal rhythm I had a flash back to being 10 years old and my grandmother telling each of us grandkids a bedtime story. She always told my cousin Shana the story of the Princess and the Pea. First... BRILLIANTLY DONE!! BRAVA!! Second... Thank you for bringing back a favorite childhood memory Third... Thank you for giving a Granddad the perfect thing to create for his beautiful granddaughter. Lastly.. because of this I’m going back to the gym! 😂
Oh my goodness I am so glad everyone is ok!! I know that heart sinking feeling when you hear a kiddo yelling your name! I am so glad this will be made for your granddaughter! She has an awesome grandpa😁
Absolutely fantastic! And the little pea detail is the icing on the cake. I have no idea what I would have made with what Jen sent you but when I saw that huge reel you sent her I immediately thought of a Ferris wheel or a carousel (which she made). Jen did some serious building, too, for sure. So much fun to watch the two of you trash geniuses make these treasures. Inspirational!
It's incredible how many of the materials from the box you used in this project. It makes me so happy to see scraps, leftovers and trash transform into beautiful new items. The bed is super adorable!
It is such a pleasure to see someone work so much with what's on hand. Right now, due to my crafts obsessions, my home looks like a hoarders house. Empty amazon boxes and packages all over. I always hate to toss them out, as I keep thinking there MUST be a use for them! Yay! Now I know! I love your channel, and just found your youtube channel as well as store. (of course I had to order even MORE stuff!) I'm mostly into 1:24 at this time, but I'm sure I'll be branching out more as I get braver!
Me: I wish I had tools small enough to carve beautiful tiny details in doll furniture... Ara: glues sequins and paper flowers, then covers with gesso and paint so it looks hand carved. Also Me: ...Why didn't I think of that? 🤔
In my mind “grantique”meant grand-as in fancy- and antique, so this ornate bed with jewels and carvings fit the definition perfectly. Great job, Ara, beautiful concept and execution! ❤️
I love this!!! I looks so whimsical. my only critique would be I wish you had made a ladder to lean against it for the princess to have used to climb onto this massive bed. But other than that it's so great! looks amazing!
I LOVE making something from nothing. It requires complete artistic imagination and challenges you to go out of your comfort zone. The bed was charming.
I've been a little (lot) behind in watching your videos, so this is way overdue. I can't believe your imagination! How you came up with the Princess and the pea is beyond me. Amazing! Now I have to watch Jen's.
You both did so well! I loved the story of the Princess and the Pea as a kid because I always had trouble sleeping so someone bought me the book and I used to read it all the time, but for some reason whenever I'd mention it no one else knew what I was talking about, so it's really nice to be reminded of it by your lovely project here.
I love what you made! I love ‘Junk Modelling’. You both made really fun pieces and I’m going to use your videos as examples of ‘Junk Modelling’ for our craft group. I love your bed post(er)s ;) and the carved look you achieved for the bed.
I came here because of NexJen. And I'm glad that I did! I love how you explain each detail of what you're doing and your voice is very pleasant. New subbie here💗
Again a wonderful piece as always! Awesome collaboration! Love all the different fabrics in the stack of mattresses. and of course there is no Ara project without some brown paint ;)
I just love the idea of using items that can be recycled or normally thrown out and making something new from them! Your creations are so inspiring- I really enjoy watching your videos! Thank you for sharing them. The Princess and the Pea has always been one of my favorite fairytales and I enjoyed seeing how you interpreted this iconic moment in the story. 😊
That is awesome hun I was thinking mermaid and boat bottom the thread is for felting not cheap either good quality to beautiful colours xx you make items look so simple beautiful antique look to them xx be safe all
I'm always amazed at your work and creativity!! All the things you used turned out awesome, and the fact that you actually made the pea just makes your attention to detail even more amazing. Great job💜🖤💙
Looks amazing, one tip for the thin paper, I love covering it in fabric glue. It does however give it a nice leathery look but it could be a tip that you may need later on lol
Can we get a series out of this challenge? Cause I loved it so much. As someone without money and doesnt want to trash what could avoid a landfill by being repurposed I often make things out of what others consider trash. This was good inspiration for imagining possibilities. Thank you for making and sharing!
This was Jen's series idea so she may continue it on her channel but I would def be open to swapping with her again. And I will always continue to reuse items in my minis when I can! :)
Ara, I love this and I love what Jen did as well. I was surprised to learn that you two are friends. I have been watching her for a long time, but just toy reviews, not crafting. I don't care much about toys, but I do love her personality. These two videos were such fun to watch, I hope you will do more of the same. Please stay safe in this crazy world.
Ohh! This is sooo beautiful!!! I love how creative you are and how you can make art with anything! I'd definitely love to see more projects like that from both of you!

Love this project. It looked like a lot of fun for you to put together. Ok, so.. Rosettes. The circular thing you were trying to make with the accordion folds. Rosettes are tricky. I have made many, and they still give me problems. To get the circle you must first glue the edges together. Then you kind of scrunch all the folds, while pushing toward the center to make the circle. It's a nightmare. Just type rosette how to in the search and you will get a million videos that can explain it better than I can.. haha Thanks for the video. Going over to watch Jen's now. Yay!
Oh thanks for the tip on that! I couldn't figure out how to get it to bend to my will lol!! So glad you liked the video! I know you will enjoy Jen's video too!

i Don't know why TH-cam suggested this to me again, but I remember this to be the first Vid i saw of you. And im hooked since then. Lets watch it again, who caes? its fun! 🥰
First of all, thank you for inspiring me to resume my favourite hobby during lockdown in 2020. I’ve been using a lot of your methods, ideas and patterns to create houses and room boxes. Yesterday, I bought a “vintage” Greenleaf Washington house kit at an antique store near me. It looks like all of the pieces are there but the instructions are yellowed and have crumbled. I haven’t made up a kit for years so I have no idea of how to get started. I’ve written to the company to see if they can help, but I thought you might have ideas on how to get a copy of the instructions. Thanks again for being such a generous inspiration.
Have you searched online to see if any one has posted a scanned copy? I hope the company gets back to you... they should have a copy somewhere. If you can't find them, my best suggestion is to dry fit everything together with masking tape like a puzzle before you start gluing. I hope that helps!
Thanks for responding Ara. I have been on a continuous loop of your Fairfield adventure and the tips have helped a lot. I did find a scanned copy online, but the quality was blurry and parts were missing. Today I got a pdf from Greenleaf and, voila, I now have the updated version. We tried putting it together as per their instructions and it is going so so. I did sand a lot and even cut off a tab or two. All I can say is tomorrow is another day, I will keep on persevering and I’m sure some day I will have something resembling the Washington. Your cardboard house project is much more inspirational and truly satisfying. Thanks again, gotta go and get a splinter or two out of my aching fingers.
Congratulations! You made a work of art with the poor materials that were in the box. The result is amazing, you're talented and very creative. Hi Ara, I write from Italy. I discovered your channel following a video of yours a couple of years ago, since that moment I have not missed one, I fell in love with your simplicity, with the clear way in which you explain all the details of your work without parsimony, of the humble and kind way with which you address everyone and, despite the numerous fans, you are always yourself, you involve us in your daily life, it seems to know you in person, thanks for the commitment and generosity in giving your talent, I learned many things from you. Thank you again!

And its definitely an added bonus that we have such an awesome community too! Thank you for being a part of my channel!💖💖 By the way, I did a study abroad in Italy for 4 months and I loved every moment of being in your beautiful country.
