I used an inkjet color printer to make copies of old vintage XMAS cards so I could decoupage them onto wood. I ironed print w/no steam iron at highest setting using a thin brown paper bag between iron and inkjet print, then I lightly sprayed prints with aqua net hairspray. I let them dry for about an hour and then ironed again using a thin brown paper bag between iron and inkjet print. The ink did not bleed when I applied Mod Podge on it and my XMAS project came out beautifully.

Just wanted to thank you for your video! I had a decoupage malfunction, I had decoupaged a small table and left it in my garage after applying the poly, not sure if it was the 100 degree days or the 100% humidity, but the paper lifted and had huge air bubbles under it. I used this method to lay the paper back down and it worked perfectly! Saved my table and all my hard work! Thank you!
This is amazing thank you so much I have three pieces of wood and have been wanting to do something for my husband and my daughter for Christmas with a picture going to be using this method for sharing all your great wisdom and knowledge have a great day my dear friend
Thanks for sharing this tutorial. This is something I definitely want to try. Your pics look awesome in those frames. I’ve tried the tape method after you showed it on your channel. It’s become one of my favorite ways to distress.

Photo paper is very thick and hard to do a nice decoupage. Plus I don't like to use a original photo incase it doesn't work and your photo is ruined. You can also use a photo copied photo. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for sharing I really love the look of these frames! Congratulations on the number of subbies .... you are rockin this you tube channel
You mentioned canvas above in your description box, but I still have a question... can this method be done on a canvas? (I actually use Liquitex rather than Mod Podge.) I love the texture a canvas provides! Thank you so much for all your awesome tutorials! I always learn something! xo
I've been upcycling an old wooden tray. I took off the old paint with paint stripper and then repainted it with a few coats of light sage green Decor Chalk Paint, and then painted over the green with a few coats of White Chalk Paint. Then I sanded back some of the white paint - on the corners and so on - so you can see some of the green, and now I'm ready to decoupage over the inside base of the tray, but I'm nervous because I don't want to wreck it 😅! I love your technique with the ink jet prints and the iron, but I was wondering how you stop the baking paper from sticking to the Mod Podge, or does it just not stick to anything? Thank you for your great video tutorial. I've got lots of pictures that I've printed off my ink jet printer that I can use with this technique. I don't know how we crafty people got on before TH-cam was invented, because I would never have heard of your technique if it wasn't for TH-cam videos! Love from Amanda Jones ❤️
I have a question. Can you seal the picture front first.first. Then Iron it on, then seal a last time? Will the technique work that way? The reason it is wrinkling is because it is soaking up the moisture.
Thank you for this video. Very informative. I have a question for you. I want to put a canvas print on the foam board. Can I mod podge on the foam board, let it dry, and put my canvas print on it. So my question is, will this process work without melting the foam board, and will the print on the canvas be okay? Thank you so much for your time.
Hi I love this! I have tried to get on your email list bit a page pops up that says "THAT'S ODD, this page appears to be missing"? I wanted to know if you painted the boards with your chaulk paint? I was thinking do you think I could use heat resistant tape to hold the pic in place?? It works with my heat press. I figured I'd tell you my idea! 🤷♀️PLEASE LET ME KNOW ABOUT GETTING ON YOUR EMAIL LIST. 🤩
I have noticed, people use way too much glue in their projects. Whether it is mod podge, wood glue, hot glue, etc., they use way too much. If you put too much glue on, you won't get a good seal. With mod Podge, using too much of it, causes lots of wrinkles. If you use a lot of hot glue, it doesn't seal good, at all. I also have noticed that people will put on wood glue or super glue, then add hot glue on top of it, 🤦, it will cancel out the wood glue or super glue. The super/wood glue, then, will stick to the hot glue, instead of the wood, metal, glass, or whatever surface, someone is using.

Yahhh!! So fun. Glad it worked so well for you
Oh great. The heat from the iron mist set the ink, the same as the oven. Thanks for this tip. I will try it both ways.
Have you tried using a spray polycrylic to seal images you ironed on wood? Thanks
Yep I sure have. Works great!
Always enjoy your great videos!! Looks like you have done some great adventures!! Take care. Cindy from Vancouver!!

Question from a newbie: you printed the pics on copy paper instead of photo paper...is there a reason?

So many techniques! The mod pdoge will not stick to wax paper
So, can you set the ink this way, anytime you transfer, or just when you're using it on wood? Thank you. I so appreciate your channel.
Yes you can set it that way on any project!
Do you think it would cure over a wood stove.? Or does it need to be a enclosure
Thanks for watching Cindy! I always let mine air dry
Thank you!
You're welcome!

I think am going to try that one
Glad you enjoyed
Awesome!! 🙂 Can I use a heat gun to dry mod podge between layers? And can I use rice paper instead? If so..same steps? TIA 🙂
I like it to dry naturally

lol, I can't believe how long that container of Mod Podge has lasted! Love the photos and the technique.
It goes on forever!!! I don’t put it on thick though … you don’t need much

When you iron again after the verathane has dried, does the verathane melt off
No
What kind of paint did you use to paint onto the backing?
Chalk paint
Do you have a solution to stop bleeding when printing on tissue paper with an inkjet. I assume that cannot go in the oven? 🤔
Seal with hair spray
Thank you 😊
What is that stuff you used to seal the picture?
Water-based, polyacrylic sealer
Can this technique be used putting a napkin on wood?
Sure can
How high do you set your iron
It’s on the highest setting thanks so much for
Thank you
I didn’t realize my napkin didn’t adhere to my board, I had put modpodge on it already, can I retiring it ??
Oops reiron
🤩
Thanks for watching
👍👍👏👏👏👏
I have been doing the iron on method but I always get wrinkles after I iron. I iron again but it keeps happening
Might be using too much mod pdoge . You don’t need much
So that would be 392 degrees fahrenheit?? I thought 200 degrees sounded hot and then you said celsius!
Yes I am in Canada so we do Celsius :) Thanks for watching
You must have your PhD degree in all things Mod Podge. Thanks
Hahaha ! almost.... definitely perfected a lot of techniques
Fabulous tutorial!!
I'm so glad you liked it!
