Polyvine heavy duty wood varnish can be used as a decoupage adhesive as well as a varnish. Don't let the word wood fool you, it can be used on all surfaces. I use rice paper/paper napkins when making xmas baubles & I discovered this trick a couple of yrs ago & it's been a game changer! U just have to be careful when removing the plastic bag bc it will pull the napkin up too. I found this method wks a lot better on rice paper though. I guess bc it's a bit thicker. Thxs for sharing!
Hi there! If you're having trouble with the plastic lifting the napkin, you may not have enough water on there. Add more water and the plastic will just slide of very easily. Water is your best friend when decoupaging a napkin. lol... My favorite is rice paper too. It's the easiest to work with by far. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to send me a message 😊💖

Missed you last week, glad to see you today. Short and sweet but informative. The napkin you chose was perfect for that round object. Nice change from square and rectangle. I had occasions where after smoothing the napkin, it was hard to get off; pulling some of the napkin off and creating tears. What did I do wrong! Maybe you can finish decorating that plaque and show us how you did it. It’s too pretty not to finish. I know you’ll create something very beautiful! 😊
Hello my friend! I absolutely fell in love with that napkin, and yes, round was kinda fun for a change. If you had trouble removing the plastic from the napkin, my best guess would be that you didn't use enough water. The water is what makes everything slide around. Try using more water. Remember! Water is your friend when using this method. Were you doing it on a flat surface? This method can be a little difficult on rounded surfaces. I am definitely going to finish that plaque. It's already in the planning stages. I was just doing a demo, but I loved the way that napkin turned out 😆 I can't not make something out of it.
REALLY GREAT IDEA to use a piece of plastic and saturate your decoupage paper!!! I recently decoupage a small table and ended up having to redo it because ModPodge got spilled on the tissue paper and it wa all downhill from there. The more I tried to finesse the worse it got. There were tears and holes and wrinkles and it looked awful. Thanks to you, that will never happen again. 😂❤❤❤❤❤

Hi, its me again 🙂 I meant dissappear those wrinkles after drying, but didn't. But because I like iron method and I am stubborn I have tried different way. Applied Polyvine heavy duty wood glue, waited to next day, when completely dried I ironed on napkin. Waited couple hours, later sprayed twice with clear spray lacquer Maston One (only because I have this at home). Waited few hours and brushed on top again Polyvine heavy duty wood glue. This layer of spray lacquer must have done protective moisture proof surface because nothing happened after applying Polyvine on the top. No wrinkles, no bubbles, just perfect. Next time I am going to use waterproof spray for outdoor stuff😅 Sorry for long post, I just wanted to share my experiment's result. Thank you againI am watching all your videos😅

Hello from Michigan caught your video in 2024 Im decoupaging holes in our paint from removing old pictures, cant repaint atm so I thought why not make it look like there is old newspaper behind the paint, so I found you on tips and tricks to getting a good decoupage look :)
Hello crafty friends! Since I filmed this video I found a product for decoupaging that is way better than any of the decoupage mediums out there. Polyvine heavy duty wood varnish can be used as a decoupage adhesive as well as a varnish. Don't let the word wood fool you, it can be used on all surfaces. I'll leave a link below, so you can easily find it. And if you're going to be decoupaging on something shiny like glass or ceramic, make sure you coat with Polyvine multi surface lacquer first so your paint won't scratch, chip or peel. You can also use this product as a decoupage adhesive.
