I have an old coffee grinder that belonged to my great grandparents. My Daddy was an only child in the whole family and he never threw away anything. I was so fortunate to receive so many old things from his side of the family. I love what you'all are doing with this house.
I’m a self confessed stickybeak, so love watching you uncover all the treasures you are both finding. The previous owner had good taste and I guess I’m show ing my age somewhat when I say I recognise a lot of the items that you are finding especially the cats tea towel, those cats were on everything.
Loved your video, so much fun to see all the neat treasures your finding. You are a lovely couple, who are working very hard in the house to get it restored. The house will be beautiful one day.
Between the drink stix were 2 little beige ones with forks on the end, they are from a box of dates. Regards from Denmark 🇩🇰 Very interesting what you are doing 👍🏻👏🏻
Well with all that glassware you'll be able to have one hell of a house warming 🥳🎉 would you like my address for the invite 😂 . Seriously though as young as you guys are , to do the work of clearing the house and showing the respect to the lady's life possessions earns my admiration, not many would do that kind of thing. Just proves that you are the right people for the home. Cracking job Gary 🇬🇧🇬🇧
I once helped go thru a house in this condition and learned about half way thru the kitchen cleanout that removing the cabinet doors makes life so much easier. Just a hint
Thank you! We love it too and won’t be changing much, except updating cabinets and appliances, and fixing disrepair. We want to keep the house as original as possible. Thank you for watching!
I love the old dishes you found in the kitchen especially the little pink set of cups and saucers and old hand mixers and such. I love the house and the really beet stuff yall have found. Can't wait till the next video😀👍❤️🙏
Thank you so much for putting in the effort to show respect for the previous owners possessions and for sharing it with us. Of course I have no clue why the owner is not able to live in her house anymore, but I wonder if she would recognize some of her belongings, if she would like to have some little things, if she is in a condition to recognize it or if she even wants it. My mother, who passed away with 94 years had to leave her house and go to a retirement home for the last years she lived. I could not take care of her as I lived not at the same place and had to work full time. She never wanted to see the house again, it was very sad for her, but she took with her lots of little things that reminded her of her home. It was a very hard process to clean the house and to sell it, because we needed the money to pay for the retirement home. It was like seeing a whole life just vanish.....
I have a bigger coffee grinder, brought over from Sweden when my great-grandpa was 7. I’m 83, he was 90 years older than I. Of course, no one in the family but my 74-year-old brother wants it.
@brendasnow8255 the older I get, the more I realize none of the "kids" want any of the treasures, and have started selling them off. No point having them thrown away when someone will pay money to own them!
She had so many beautiful things takes time to go through everything. Agree getting rid of drapes and textiles will help the smell. Enjoy watching the cleaning out of the house. I have seen lots of things I have some from my mother. Wonder what will happen to my things hopefully someone as careful as you and your husband will clean out my home
You are finding so many cool things. Lots of it is collectible’s. You might be surprised at how much money you’ll get back if you sell a lot that you don’t want to keep.
I think the two white sticks amongst the sticks have come from boxes of dates. You make me feel so old, all the kitchen gadgets I used to have when first married and I’m only 72 feeling like 52!
Keep the faith. This is such a discouraging job. Thank you for sharing this endeavor with us. I’ve been through this myself, alone, for a family member. Emotionally draining and very sad when it’s family.
Hello from Rome, I love all those old things, I hope that you will keep the most part of them. I've your VEDEOS hope to see more and more tell us if you will keep any it those objects, good work guys!!! ❤❤❤❤
You might want to consider buying some long handled “grabbers “ so you can pull out something from a distance when there is a chance there is something living inside the cubboard or cabinets.
Funny how our things Tell the story of our lives. It also tells the story of our age group because as I've gotten older and had the privilege to pack up several relatives homes I've learned that people from certain time periods will have similar items. It is a very cool journey 😁😁😁😁😁😁
Get an IONIZER for the smell in the house!! I got one for my 1923, varmint filled, old men inhabitants (i.e never cleaned), mold etc and various other aromas i won't go into...and it worked amazingly!! Got it off Amazon ...have a friend using it in a house he just purchased that has the exact same issues as yours...and just started using it...and its making a world of difference already!! Good luck!! I love treasure trove houses...you're unearthing alot of very special things. Fun to watch!
I'm pleased to see you wearing those respirators. Better to try to decipher what you're saying than not get to share your adventures because you're too ill from the mold and mildew and whatever else lurks in that house to film and upload. Fascinating stuff, thank you!
I would bring in a black light to go over some of the glassware. Some pieces look like vasiline glass. It will glow under a black light if it is. Theres always a fairly big market for it.
On some of that glass you might want to get yourself a little black light and make sure if it glows or not because if it does it worth more money that means it has uranium in it
Very interesting to see all the contents of the kitchen. Some of the items, my grandma had ones like them, I have a few of them now. The pineapple glasses are pretty cool. Would be nice to keep them for a china cabinet in the future DR. The swizzle sticks are pretty cool, especially the dog ones. Very unique pieces for collectors, if you sell some of the pieces. Note - Little Door - was probably used back in the day when milk was home delivered; milk man could set your order inside. Hope you keep the shelves and bead board what looks to be a pantry or entry to the basement, original & pretty cool!
I hope you held onto the vintage ashtrays to sell. They are collectible because they’re no longer made and there were so many different designs. They can be used as Knick Knack trays.
Some of that stuff looks like it would be worth some money .Are you going to sell any of it ? An you should look it up by taking a picture on your phone an do agoggle search .
Some of that clear glassware may glow under blacklight even if not Vaseline glass. Glass made before 1945 (I think) was made with glowy stuff and regular glass mixed. That's how you can tell how old it is. ( better look it up for a definite year)
If you haven't Googled those Swizzle Sticks w/ the dog on them... There is one just like yours that is Amethyst in Color selling for $24. Always have been into Antiques and well anything VINTAGE.
I'm way behind in watching your episodes but I'm getting there. I've never seen a mail box below the mail slot such as you have. The other box in the kitchen may be where the milk man made his delivery. I grew up with that kind of thing. The only difference was the height - our's were chest high. So your's might be for something else entirely.
@colettesantoro8797 1 second ago Watching this has encouraged me to start getting rid of things. No one is going to know the significance of little scraps of paper or so many drubs and drabs that I’ve saved. Gee, I don’t even know why I’ve saved some of the things I have.🤷🏼♀️ My mother was a “just in case” saver. We always said we would get a big dumpster when the time came. That golden item which was on the table outside with your husband ; it is an Arabic sentence " بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم " which means “ In The Name Of God Most Gracious Most Merciful “
Glad you’re enjoying watching! That was actually a page out of a magazine that had been framed (we found quite a few of those, she was very thrifty!) With the Florida humidity it just disintegrated once taking it out of the moldy frame 🤷♀️
All of the plumbing traps are probably dry. Pour water down them right away. Sewer gas is venting into the house. It smells bad and is very unhealthy and can be flammable. At the time of the video we were waiting on our dumpster to arrive, but the work couldn’t wait 😊 we were the cheap labor and we scrubbed every surface of the house. The plumbers capped everything so that wasn’t an issue. We wish that had solved the smell problem lol. Thanks for watching
The back door you are trying to open has a lock you need to turn inside the door knob, other than that look outside to see if it’s locked from out there
I'm drooling over all of those vintage kitchen gadgets and dishes!
Me too!
Me three.
For me it's the 1971 tea towel Calendar with the black cat 🐈⬛️ design. I've had two black cat pets and am hoping to get a third.
I have an old coffee grinder that belonged to my great grandparents. My Daddy was an only child in the whole family and he never threw away anything. I was so fortunate to receive so many old things from his side of the family. I love what you'all are doing with this house.
Thanks for sharing!
All things considered, I think the lady kept an incredibly organized home. Am constantly amazed at the details you keep finding.
Great video, again!
I seriously can’t get enough; I’m hooked. 😂
Thanks for taking us on this adventure with you!
I’m a self confessed stickybeak, so love watching you uncover all the treasures you are both finding. Thank you so much!
Just so, so happy to see those moldy, dusty curtains come down!!!
You guys are doing great, take a break. The cicada's are in the trees. They have a language of their own 😂🎉❤
Thanks!
The little silver mug is a child's mug. Getting rid of all the drapes and textiles will improve the smell. The tiny door was for milk delivery.
I love reading comments when I get to learn little nuggets of historic info like the milk door. Thanks for sharing that!
Or ice
Between the drink stix were 2 little beige ones with forks on the end, they are from a box of dates. Regards from Denmark 🇩🇰 Very interesting what you are doing 👍🏻👏🏻

The invites in the mail! 🎉🎉🎉 We appreciate you saying that 😊 it’s been a lot of work
I once helped go thru a house in this condition and learned about half way thru the kitchen cleanout that removing the cabinet doors makes life so much easier. Just a hint
Great tip!
I just love the whole house! I wouldn't change anything. Except for kitchen, wish I was there to help pack.🎉❤
Thank you! We love it too and won’t be changing much, except updating cabinets and appliances, and fixing disrepair. We want to keep the house as original as possible. Thank you for watching!

Love the calendar tea towel ! I actually have a table runner just like that. Let me know when the vintage yard sale is ~😉
Nice pottery pitchers. I like.
Look forward to your clean out videos! Great job going through all the vintage items! Hang in there
Thank you!! 😊
I have a bigger coffee grinder, brought over from Sweden when my great-grandpa was 7. I’m 83, he was 90 years older than I. Of course, no one in the family but my 74-year-old brother wants it.
I have a small one from Germany 🇩🇪 top and keep it as an ornament in my kitchen as a memory from my childhood
My grandparents had a big wooden manual coffee grinder, I wish I had it now! 😌
@brendasnow8255 the older I get, the more I realize none of the "kids" want any of the treasures, and have started selling them off. No point having them thrown away when someone will pay money to own them!

Love all the old dishes. Especially the Hull soup bowls.
Antiques
Marie must have loved her stuff and her house before she grew old and overwhelmed.
The frog mug u could use for a planter & put on patio🎉
Yes, things with small chips could still be sold!
You are finding so many cool things. Lots of it is collectible’s. You might be surprised at how much money you’ll get back if you sell a lot that you don’t want to keep.
It may be overwhelming but you are doing so well. Do an inch at a time, those inches will add up 😊. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you! 😊
You are a great narrator, and telling the story of the house and the family that lived there,
Thank you very much!
I love seeing your progress great there are items in the house you can sell!
I think the two white sticks amongst the sticks have come from boxes of dates. You make me feel so old, all the kitchen gadgets I used to have when first married and I’m only 72 feeling like 52!
So much more light coming in without curtains. Blinds are nice for privacy when you want it. Or open them up to daylight. 😊
Open the windows, fresh air would soon help the musty smells.
Oh, sorry just noticed you do have them open.
@@elainew9577 it took a lot more than open windows to get rid of the smell, but yep that’s where we started! 👍
Keep the faith. This is such a discouraging job. Thank you for sharing this endeavor with us. I’ve been through this myself, alone, for a family member. Emotionally draining and very sad when it’s family.
Thank you so much!
Those metal mugs with the ceramic inserts are adorable
Love your patience with all of her treasures❤
Thank you!
Bunch good stuff left in the kitchen.
Lots of really cool stuff! 💯
Thanks!😊
That coffee grindef can be restored
The painted iron was probably used as a doorstop to keep a door open-and the carpet was on it so wooden floors wouldn’t be scratched
Hello from Rome, I love all those old things, I hope that you will keep the most part of them. I've your VEDEOS hope to see more and more tell us if you will keep any it those objects, good work guys!!! ❤❤❤❤
Thank you from Florida! We kept a few favorites and are finding new homes for the rest 😊
You might want to consider buying some long handled “grabbers “ so you can pull out something from a distance when there is a chance there is something living inside the cubboard or cabinets.
I think they are past that stage. This was last year.
Hi from England guys! Loving your purchase

So true! It was bad in there! Thanks so much, we’ll have more soon 😊
I think the dog swizzle sticks might actually be knife rests.
Aha! That would make sense. Thanks!
At least you have time to do all this stuff. Can be fun if rested & take breaks🎉
We both work full time in addition to this renovation, so we haven’t been rested in almost a year 😂 but we’re making the time!
The oven proof Hull pottery bowls, are old.
I would bring in a black light to go over some of the glassware. Some pieces look like vasiline glass. It will glow under a black light if it is. Theres always a fairly big market for it.

I Really enjoyed your Videos
Glad you like them!
I too have a lemon squeezer like yours which belonged to my mother.
The coffee grinder can be repaired. Vintage curtains/material is also sellable .
Keep any old Pyrex. Pyrex is not made the same way anymore and is not heat safe - only the old stuff is.
I think that was a little milk door for when milk used to be delivered.
That hole is for milk delivery back when we had milkmen😊
It caught me by surprise because on the other side of the little door it is plastered over.
The woodenspoon with de decoratief hol is a cookie mal
You actually have some great treasures in that kitchen stuff antique dealers would give you a lot for them
The little door is for the milk man
The locked door the lower door knob has a snib there can be turned from hoizontal to vertical. That may open it.
Lots of treasures
The little door may have been for milk and other grocery deliveries. You didn't have to be awake or home.
Very interesting to see all the contents of the kitchen. Some of the items, my grandma had ones like them, I have a few of them now. The pineapple glasses are pretty cool. Would be nice to keep them for a china cabinet in the future DR.

In water add silverfoil, baking soda and put the silver cup boil. Let it cool down. Taje soap and sponge it will be shiny silver.
Thanks for the tips!
I hope you held onto the vintage ashtrays to sell. They are collectible because they’re no longer made and there were so many different designs. They can be used as Knick Knack trays.
Yes, we have so many.
Pink porcelan is very rear and expensive.
You found a lot of great stuff.currios what is behind the door
If you sell all the old stuff you can earn quite a lot of money i imagine 😊
Every bit helps.
The small door at the back of the kitchen may have been for milk delivery...
Good call!
Wooden butter mold pat of butter.
Some of that stuff looks like it would be worth some money .Are you going to sell any of it ? An you should look it up by taking a picture on your phone an do agoggle search .
Hearing aid for people who can’t hear. I am coming to it soon .
The egg cups were for soft boiled eggs to sit on for breakfast.
I love the pink tea pot. Would love to get that if you are selling that. How can a person do that?
Hull soup bowls. Is the pink pot Hull too?
That’s a cool shirt! Where do I get one? 😊
teatowel from 1971 is cute
Open the containers might find some money inside. I hind things in containers.
Need to turn the little thingy on the bottom know to open. 2 locks bolt latch and know latch.
Some of that clear glassware may glow under blacklight even if not Vaseline glass. Glass made before 1945 (I think) was made with glowy stuff and regular glass mixed. That's how you can tell how old it is. ( better look it up for a definite year)
Back door: did you turn the center knob in the door knob itself? We have that in our back door: horizontal is locked, vertical is unlocked 😊
Yep! The lock was broken and the door was stuck.
If you haven't Googled those Swizzle Sticks w/ the dog on them... There is one just like yours that is Amethyst in Color selling for $24. Always have been into Antiques and well anything VINTAGE.
Thanks!
Be careful of getting too hot!!--Karlon Anderson--
Maybe that loose key is the safe deposit key that goes with the empty envelope?
I'm way behind in watching your episodes but I'm getting there.

Interesting. A few people have said its for milk but good point on the height.
Decoration or sell, label on is worth more.
You have lots of things worth money in that kitchen so don't be to eager to throw things away
The Hull onion soup bowels will go for $10 ea.
That little door could be a coal shute back from when people burned coal for heat.

Love that old phone on the wall in the kitchen Would be nice to keep it and have it working. ❤❤❤ Love your treasures!!!
We love that phone too!
That golden item which was on the table outside with your husband ; it is an Arabic sentence " بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم " which means “ In The Name Of God Most Gracious Most Merciful “
I'm also drooling. I love kitchen stuff! On the wall, above the rotary phone, is a framed picture of a fig? Pear? What happened to that?
Glad you’re enjoying watching! That was actually a page out of a magazine that had been framed (we found quite a few of those, she was very thrifty!) With the Florida humidity it just disintegrated once taking it out of the moldy frame 🤷♀️
@@CicadaAndCo Did it? I saw it later among the things you rescued for an estate sale.
A lot of work but some pretty cool treasures. What will you be doing with all the treasures?
Thanks! We’re keeping a few, had a yard sale with some, and others will be listed in our Etsy shop when we get around to it 😊
All of the plumbing traps are probably dry. Pour water down them right away. Sewer gas is venting into the house. It smells bad and is very unhealthy and can be flammable. Get a shop vac and get everything vaccumed up. Buy a commercial grade mop and mop bucket with a strainer. and bleach the hell out of everything. The smell will drastically improve. Repeat several times. Hire a laborer or two to do the grunt work for a few days minimum. Get a dumpster immediately. Handle garbage only once. Don't kill yourself get cheap help.

Dont make the mistake of opening the refridgerator! My mother did once and swore she could smell it on herself for a month!
Hal couldn’t resist opening it 😂
The back door you are trying to open has a lock you need to turn inside the door knob, other than that look outside to see if it’s locked from out there
The lock was broken
Yard sale stuff or to goodwill
Yep that’s what we did
