If it works out, I would really enjoy seeing more interviews with older people who have memories of how the history of our country impacted their lives. I wish I had spent a little more time talking with my own grandmothers about what life was like when the USA entered WWI and how they made it through The Great Depression, and WWII. What a life of struggle every ordinary person lived . I was born in 1943 and have never experienced the kinds of things they did. I believe we cannot allow the history of ordinary people to be lost.
Praying for Granny to receive a good health report for 2024. I would love the chance to read Granny’s poetry. A treasure for sure. 📖 Congratulations on your soon to arrive grandbabies. 👶🏻👶🏻🍼🧢🩵
My 91 year old Daddy has planted corn between his apple and pear trees for all of his life. There's no need for transplanting the fruit trees unless you just really want to. The shade from those trees is really not an issue.

Being a grandparent, the time goes faster than when my kids were little. I have 2 sons, and each of them has given me a granddaughter , they are now 8 and 1. Blessings on your new year and goals.

My kids went where I went. Back in those days we didn't have any of the snuggle or wraps like they have now. Fishing didn't seem as hard as tractor work to me tugging a newborn along. I am so blessed that I didn't have any help taking them along because those are still some of the sweetest, most heartfelt memories. We didn't have air conditioning so canning could get a bit uncomfortable at times with a little one tucked into a pair of modified overalls but the memories keep me going on some of the more difficult days. Matt, plant Big Boy or Better boy and use sheep or some of your chicken manure. You should be adding that to your soil anytime along with the eggshells. Pretty soon you will have two little helpers with the tomato crop if they don't eat it all, boys can eat more than you think.
I just love the way you approach life! The bitter and the sweet…the ratio changes sometimes, but the sweet seems to always outweigh the bitter. Y’all will make whatever you do special by doing it together. Y’all are a wonderful family. Keep up the good work. ❤️🙏💪

I'm sure the 2 little boys are going to grow up loving hunting, fishing and exploring the woods...They will have a wonderful childhood and have a loving, caring family who all love them and give unconditional love...This year will go by in a hurry...I'm hoping to retire full time and go to a casual position for a few years and then retire full time...I'm finding this exciting and look forward to being home more often to spend quality time with my husband...God Bless y'all1🙏🙏🙏

I don’t think there are words to describe how I feel, sitting and listening to you two chatting, but with regards to this conversation, you’ve inspired me to write out my goals and dreams for 2024 and beyond, and the reason why you’ve inspired me to do this is because you make it so there’s no pressure, like it really doesn’t matter if they’re achieved or not because as you said, sometimes other things that happen in life take priority, but I’m definitely excited to get down on paper all the things I can think of that I want to achieve and all of them are fairly low key normal not out of the ordinary stuff, but you make life itself somehow feel so special that we don’t have to aim for big lofty ideas but more of the more wholesome down to earth heartfelt type of things. Thank you and best wishes for the coming year for you two and your gorgeous family 🙏💗💞

Tipper once the grand babies have come and things settle I think you should do a gardening/lifestyle /cook book.Recipes from Appalachia that are garden based along with growing tips,words of wisdom etc…lots of people(even us city people ) are interested in growing our food to save money but maybe find all of it overwhelming at times… and you’re the perfect person to teach us all how to put food up! But whatever you choose to do I’ll support ❤Let’s hope 2024 is good to all of us

Asking for prayers 🙏. Our 10 year old daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and spent the holiday in the children's hospital in the NICU from a DKA. We're home now but it's been an emotional rollercoaster.

I got out today in my yard! We recently had rain and wind storm ,many limbs down in our yard ! Hard for me to do ,but it does my heart good to be out ! It was 60 and sunny little wind so I just had to! Our youngest grand daughter was here today and she help her Pop feed chickens and gather our eggs! She is 2 and a half, and is a big mess! Next year your grandsons will be starting to tot around! A lot of things to look forward to!

I know it's been awhile since, but I'm just now commenting on all the videos I watch and enjoy, but I'm just Soo happy for You Matt that you don't have to work for someone else and can be with the family and work for yourself now. I bet that feels Soo dang good, doin the work you love, and good at and set your own pace. Makes work more enjoyable I think. Try corn on the cobb, in a 2 gallon ziploc bag, still in the husk....you don't zap them real long...but they will be HOT, so dont get burned...but it is our new favorite way to do fresh cob corn....and for planting...plant some roselle/hibiscus, for fall jelly...or tea...

We have a Troy built tiller that we got from Ronnie’s mom over 20 years ago and it’s great but I surprised Ronnie with a John Deere tractor when he retired in 2009! It is wonderful! I bought several implements! It was 10k and no telling what it is now but I actually used a zero percent note for it! We used their money and let ours grow! We did the same in 2014 when we downsized! We bought me a sewing shed and it was a zero percent note! ❤❤ it maybe time for you to upgrade your tiller! Ronnie still uses the Troy built for certain spots! We have a garden we share with the older folks in town! They love fresh veggies! We have an elderly only housing authority and when he pulls up here come the ladies with their walkers and Walmart sacks! We get more joy watching them and hearing how they cooked what we took the last week! We feel like it’s our turn as they age and we are retired! Ronnie turns 74 on the 29th and I will be 71 in March! But we love our garden! Our grands are between 23 and 31 and they love to come and help us work and can! It brings back good memories! They are all within 2 hours from us and the weekend flies by! You will absolutely love your grands! ❤❤ at least this Nana and Pop do!

2023 I started the year by having a liver transplant and spent about half of 2023 recovering from that. 2024 started out with the announcement that my son and daughter in-law are having identical twin boys. 2024 is definitely beginning with two great blessings. They will be here in late June. Congratulations on your 2 grandsons...I'm becoming a first time grandma with you, Tipper. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I hope all your dreams come true what a great way to not slip into the seasonal depression days of winter, I think I will set some goals too thank you. I retired last year I know how Matt feels your own time your own space its amazing. Love you all and I am so thankful for your channel I ve been here since the beginning ❤

Exciting plans for 2024...I'm tired for yall 😅....I pray you will be able to keep those fruit trees while still having your corn...and maybe you can plant more butterbeans too...we put up 2 bushels of corn every year we dont grow it but it is great corn...a full days work though...those grandbabies will keep you busy too...I keep my 6 mo grand daughter 3 days a week and also pick up our 7yo grandson from school 3 days...we stay tired but we love it...exciting things to come for Celebrating Appalachia
Just an idea....get tripods. Set them up in various places when you're doing a job. For example when you build the barn, cut the trees and things like that. Then dont worry about editing them a whole bunch. Splice together and throw them up on the channel. People will watch. Also, if you have to change up how many times a week you put up videos, then do so. We will understand. God bless!

Matt get you a 25hp or so tractor with a bucket, tiller, and box blade to put in that barn. Will make you life alot easier with the garden, driveway, etc
