Tipper and Matt, My husband and I have been married for 49 yrs now. We feel the same way as you do. WE are in this for the long haul also. What a beautiful day! Hiking in the woods is one of our favorite things to do until my legs won't let me do that anymore. We do manage to rent a little Cabin in the woods once in a while and build a fire, it's so comforting. Eating outdoors in the country; the food tastes so good. I must agree. We live in a wild life area on the side & back of the house. So when we cook at home....it tastes so good here to as long as the river isn't leaving an oder. On the other side of the house (front & right side there are just a small amount of neighbors. Anyway Happy Valentines day.
@CelebratingAppalachia God is great. Transition made safely and the relief and joy I feel is unmatched by gratitude to Jesus. Thanks Tipper. Your support means a lot. I am now totally alone. But calm and safe!!!!🙏😁😁💜
So jealous to go on a hike in pretty woods! I have a prayer request for anyone that felt led: my sister in law has been diagnosed with leukemia and my brother, her husband, may need heart surgery soon. Their names are Yajie and Nathan. Thank you for this Christian community!
When I first got married we had a argument and I went to my parents and my parents sent me back ...told me to work it out. My mother told me never go to bed mad...stay up and work it out. That was the best thing my parents did and said.
I can just see those two little grandsons following after Matt all over those woods. It’s the best times of your life. Nothing like being grandparents ❤️
My husband and I will be married for 36 years, on February 20th. One thing that we’ve tried to go by, is first don’t talk about each other behind their back, make secrets together, and don’t do anything that you have to keep a secret from each other. I do thank God for our marriage! We truly do love each other.
I would love to go on a hike and eat ramen any day of the week compared to going to a restaurant in the city. You guys do have the best relationship/friendship. It’s something to be admired. Enjoyed the video.
I love Ramen noodles...it is a quick meal. I put butter in them or cheese. You can add whatever you like and they are good. Enjoyed your video and love to see the cooking. Have got a lot of ideas for meals. God bless you all.
Your videos are like a breath of fresh air. With all the bad things going on in this ole world, it is so good to see folks like ya'll living the good life. Everyone has problems in life, but if you are grounded in the love of the Lord and each other, you can make it through anything. Enjoy this wonderful time in your life. You two will make wonderful grandparents! Lucky little boys!
Love to see the two of you together. I consider myself blessed to be able to rest in my husband’s strength. Tipper, I know you, too, are blessed to rest in your husband’s strength. Thank you for taking us along.
My husband and I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day or hardly any other holidays. Got married young and I had our first son the day after Valentine’s Day and my husband‘s birthday is on 16 February which is the day after my sons birthday so, we were worried more about birthdays than we did Valentine’s Day and then our kids had their kids so we ended up with seven grandsons and We were always doing something for the grandkids. You are right about keeping God at the center of your marriage and always trying to put each other’s needs above our own needs. There’s really no use in Fighting or arguing when you can just talk and work things out. I glad y’all had a good Valentine’s Day.
My mom cooked on "high" all the time when i was growing up. Cast iron fryings were a blazing! Meat, potatoes, and veg all cooking at the same time, and when we could smell the boiled potatoes burning to the pot we knew dinner was done! 😂😂 my poor dad😂😂
My Mother would always say "The worm turned!" Especially when the grandkids would get fuzzy & cranky! 😅 That is a very old saying! Love it! I never heard anybody else say it! This video was sweet & very encouraging! 😊❤
My husband and I have been married for 50 years with four children and thirteen grandchildren. Marriage and family are gifts from God. Jesus Christ is the center of our lives. Thank you for your wise words.
Happy Valentines Day!!! My mother back in the day had a pressure cooker on the stove making soup bean....the valve gasket got plugged and the pot exploded. It sounded like a cannon going off and there were pinto beans everywhere! I've been afraid to use one.
I got my whole kitchen cleaned ( walls, windows, cabinets inside out, stove, floors) n l made beef stew in pressure cooker n it all exploded all over my kitchen.
Yall are so sweet together. I wish everyone could have the important things that yall have together. It sure would make the world a better place. Continue to love each other and be each others best friend. ❤
Such a nice way to celebrate. Matt is like a boy playing in the woods. You will make such good grandparents with the extra bonus of living with one of them. ❤️🇨🇦
I love your explanation of "evenly yoked". In the church that I grew up in they consider that to be of the same race. I do not believe that, I believe it is that you have the same goals. I have been married for 20 years, can't remember the exact date just as you. We are always together, doing things, working in the garden or house projects. We have the same goals and lean on each other during hard times. It's very important. I wish that young people could see marriage through an older persons eyes. It's not all about looks and popularity.
Y’all are so sweet together. Happy late Valentine’s Day to both of you. So happy to see that you both got to spend a lovely, blessed day together. Much respect and love Melissa Rooker.❤
This was such a meaningful video that everyone should take to heart. I had to show this to my husband because he has developed a new hobby of restoring cast iron pots & skillets. His recent purchase was a Dutch oven with a handle to put on a tri-pod. He wants to buy it, but I said see how Matt does it. You don’t need to buy one. Your words are so meaningful and I’m glad my husband and I are a lot like y’all.
I agree 100% about being friends as well as in love. It sure helps when the hard times come. The Lord put Butch and I together when we were 17 and 18 years old. We got married the next year and have been married for 42 years in May. There’s no one else that I would want to go on this journey with. We have 2 grandsons and one on the way in June. It’s the best thing ever! 👵🏻❤️👶🏼
We have 35 years this year married , we have never done much for valentines other then a cake , it's hubby's birthday 🎂, but we have forgotten anniversaries too , we try to make memories every day , like the walks in the woods . Those are the days that matter most , not just labeled days .
This was the perfect Valentine Date. My husband and I are like that. That’s the kinda date that we like. My husband is my best friend and I’m his. It’s not perfect but it works for us. I can’t wait to see those little grandsons. I have 2 of them and they are pure joy to have. Your world will be forever changed. ❤️🥰
Yall remind me of my mom and dad. Ive never known two more compatible people than they were. Where one was weak the other was strong. Best friends. Great parents. We lost my dad at 48 years old. That was 52 years ago. I, the oldest of 5 was only 19. Mom followed him 5 years ago. They're probably up there still catching up. They say the best thing a parent can do for their children is to love their spouse. We didn't have a lot of material things but we had that. They adored each other and loved all of us. What more could a kid ask for!❤❤
Thank you for this wonderful video. I feel like I spent a belated Valentine's Day with the both of you. My husband, of 42 years, passed away in 2022. I never figured I'd have another terrific Valentine's Day, but you gave me another one! Thank you!!! 😂❤
My husband and I got married on Feb 29. We celebrate our love every single day not just a anniversary or a Hallmark made up holiday ❤ y'all remind of us. We had hard times, bad times m, and lots of good times. Happy Made Up Hallmark Holiday ❤ I love y'all ❤️ and your channel
Here in northern Illinois, were enjoying the winter that never happened. A half century of winters under my belt and I can't remember one quite like this. Who ever is getting my share of winter and snow, enjoy it.
Please show us those Laurels again when they bloom. Love them. Happy Valentines you two.❤😊 44 years married, and everything that you said is true. We made promises to each other and that meant something to us.
Matt sure knows how to make a good fire. I think Matt's grandma had too much on her mind, she was just too busy. So nice that you and Matt can just take a little walk and have a beautiful place to sit and have supper. I agree you have to be evenly yoked' My husband and I have been married 54 years. I'm thankful for John, he has been a blessing to me too, Tipper. ❤🙏Patsy
A beautiful place to take a hike and have a picnic dinner. Y'all look happy and content. A great relationship. Thanks for sharing. Happy Valentine's Day!
My husband and I don’t really celebrate Valentine’s Day or our anniversary in any big way either but I always say we celebrate being together every day and enjoy our time with one another. We have Valentine’s Day every day just by being together.
I said once before how Matt reminds me a lot of my b n law. But actually after watching this one, Tippy reminds me a great deal of my sister too. He always has put out a big garden. Most of her time was spent inside while his was outside. But when needed they worked together on all of it. They were never to have a kid though😢. When she passed, that had been married 43 years. My brother is right now over 42. And our parents made it 48 before my dad passed. All of the videos from youns and your girls are a huge blessing to me though👍 GOD BLESS
A Pressure Cooker is a great kitchen tool. I’ve had mine 50+ years. I also have an electric skillet about that same age. Both have been utilized many, many times. That side meat looked delicious! I want some now!
I’ve always said, “You always love your spouse, but you’re not always ‘in love’ with each other.” Marriage is a sacrament between the husband, wife, and God-Triune.
Love hearing about you and Matt. We will be married 60 years this June. We had two weddings and renew on our 40th, and 50th. And would want to go on with out Mike, we were bless 3 children and 8 grandchildren, but one thing is we met in church and stay in church our full marriage God was first in our life's and and first in our marriage. We taught our children to have God first and things will follow in his ways, we also told our grandchildren you get out of the will of God then troubles start to rise. I always said I would never drink, smoke and run around and I have kept that to this day. I never wanted a man who hung in bars drinking smoking but a Christian and he was the same expecting from his wife. Thank God for putting us together 60 yrs in june. When God is the center in your life your marriage it will last.
Well Miss Tipper maybe that’s an advantage of Matt being retired 😉 ❤. My mother in law back in the day blew lid of pressure cooker off snd chicken and lid hit ceiling 😂. I thought somebody was shooting at us 😅I was going to say respect and it’s true and you are friends Means a lot You got me crying 😢. Y’all are so special Looking forward to those babies Will be precious Love y’all
I find the younger generation head for divorce court before they even have time to figure out what’s happening! If my wife and I didn’t stick it out and talk it out we’d of been divorced long ago. We’ve been married for 46 years and our love each other keeps growing. Now that we are grandparents, it’s whole other kind of love that just keeps getting better. I couldn’t think of two people that will make your grandchildren, more proud then you and Matt!❤️🙏🇨🇦
My husband and I are the same way 🤷 Matt was so funny saying he didn't like the InstaPot because it had Buttons 😂💞 And alittle PDA would be just fine and sweet💘💖
My grandma's canner pot blew off at least twice that I remember, while canning green beans. In the house of course. And everything in the pot tries to come out that little hole in the lid!!! What a mess!!
My mom and dad worked at a factory, and we had a small farm, too. Through the week, Mom cooked supper like her hair was on fire. Lol. In 30 minutes, it was on the table and so good. Simple country fare from meat we raised and veggies out of our garden kept us healthy and happy!
Me and my husband have a relationship much like you all do. (50 years). We use to take a picnic lunch and go places. The one that sticks out in my mind, was a trip to Burke’s Garden in Tazewell Co. We went in the Fall and the leaves were beautiful. We sat on the tailgate of the truck and ate our lunch. It was great! You all will be awesome grandparents!
Loved going on this hike with y'all, very romantic,I'm a country girl and I can appreciate this , we've had warm beautiful days here in Georgia already too, nearly 70 degrees yesterday, but the rain is coming will be here all day Saturday, tomorrow 😢 but I can't wait to go on hikes with my grandbabies soon , ages 3 and 5 they absolutely love being outside too we have always taken them on hikes,we live right in the middle of the Battlefields in chickamauga, Ga. So we always have something to do we love looking for beautiful rocks like Katie and we have even lucked up and found deer antlers, and other treasures We save them in a gallon size ziplock bag and date them and then we get them out later to make crafts or just ponder of the treasures We found and we always pack a picnic lunch,You and Matt are about to be head over heals in love again when those little grandbabies get here, oh by the way I got yours and Jim's cookbook for Valentine's Day !! Can't wait till y'all come to Ringgold, Georgia at the Tea Room to see y'all in person and get my book signed, loving reading all the stories and recipes, Thank y'all for the wonderful hike ❤
My Beloved and I met online. Three months later, we drove to Las Vegas, got married, and left for home 13 hours later. It was a 22-hour drive each way. Last September, we celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. And you’re right. You have to be friends and have good conversations. We talked about everything on that trip. We still do. I got lucky. So did he. No regrets. Ever.
I love watching your videos & I love the way you & Matt get along. It's the best thing in this life to have a mate that you are compatible with. I had that for 30 some years with my husband Bryan but I lost him to Cancer in April of last year. I sure miss our time that we were blessed to have with each other & we shared a beautiful life together. May God bless you to have many years together & enjoy those precious grandchildren that will soon be there. Thank you for sharing your videos with us all.
What a great Valentine’s Day y’all had! I think that is a very romantic! Spending time with each other in nature, Matt cooking over an open fire and just talking with each other as you share your special day with us. You are both truly blessed to have each other as man and wife, but more importantly as friends. Couples don’t realize it’s great when your young to frolic and have fun. However, as one gets older if you’re not friends that truly enjoy each other and having good conversations, then changes are in marriage it’s not going to be enjoyable, desirable, much less have good conversations. Matt said it right, the Bible says we are to be “equally yoked”.
Thanks Folks, not commented lately, but always tops to listen in. I believe it was James Dobson who said that any relationship needs a 60/60 split as 50/50 may leave a gap. Grand Parents, been there, done that, not long for Katie, then Corie. Our Lord's richest blessings for all. :)
This reminded me of one Appalachian way of talking that often caught me a little off guard when we lived in West Virginia, because it means almost the opposite of what it does in the rest of the country. You said of Matt being willing to help clean house, etc: "Matt doesn't care to help me do that kind of stuff." You meant that Matt doesn't mind doing that kind of stuff. But in most places, "Matt doesn't care to..." would mean "Matt doesn't like to do it."
Enjoy and make time. My sweetheart passed on to Glory in August and I am missing my buddy. This looks exactly like something we would do. He was an outdoorsman and I was a good tagalong. Make all the sweet memories you can.
You are both absolute keepers! I always say my husband and I were so busy taking care of the kids and keeping a roof over our heads we didn’t have time to be miserable. 43 years and still going strong !
Pressure cooker story --we used ours for all kinds of meals, my husband and mother in law assuring me they were safe. But one time, while cooking ham and beans, some skins of the beans plugged the valve and we didn't notice until it exploded and covered the kitchen, floor to ceiling, with dinner. We found crusted beans for years behind corners and edges. Thankfully, no one was in the kitchen at the time! We learned our lesson and have never had another issue. I must admit we were early on the Instant Pot craze, enjoying all the safety features! Love how you spent your Valentine's Day! Thank you for sharing it with us!
Such a great day for a hike and a campfire meal. I love the sound of a mountain stream. God bless the two of you. You bring so much peace, joy and hope into our lives.
Lovely picnic and visit in the outdoors. Thanks for taking us along. Praying for Katie and little bit, health and easy delivery. Praying for all of you as well as Granny.
I like Charlie Prides song that describes the way my wife and I feel about each other, “ you’ve got to kiss an angel good morning and love her like the devil when you get back home”, works, has for us for 47 years. Love it that you and Matt have that kind of relationship. God bless
My wife was born on Valentine’s Day. One year I made a double card. You could open it one way and it would be birthday, opened it the other way and it would be Valentine. On the back in tiny print it said for the people born on holidays. She thought that was a good idea and asked where I found it. That was a good year.
I've added a hotdog to ramen noodles sometimes. It may sound a bit strange, but like your meal here, it's not bad. I just add it to the water as it's heating up, before adding the noodles. Another idea I do sometimes is crack and egg in there.
Hang on, you guys are fixing to move into a whole new realm when you’re grandparents. It throws a major directional change in the trail and the family adventure picks up steam for all and highlights how worth it sticking out the peaks and valleys is and makes you look forward to where it leads.
Tipper, I just wanted to tell you, I made your cheesy potatoes (from your cook book) night before last, and they were a hit! I served them with fried pork chops, and smothered cabbage (in bacon and onions), and it was perfect! My husband took the leftovers to work yesterday 🤍 Your story of Matt's grandma only cooking on high, reminds me of my grandma a little. I also come from a musical family, on my paternal side. My poor grandma didn't have a musical bone in her body, but she'd give it her best effort, bless her. We had to play everything in the key of C, she was notorious for it lol. She could belt it out for certain, as long as it was in her key! 😅🥰 Ramen noodles being back memories lol. I was very poor at certain points in my life. Sometimes I could afford a bag of potatoes, so I learned to make potatoes in every conceivable way. When I'd get tired of them, I'd move onto ramen noodles, I could get 10 for a dollar. Again, I figured out how to eat them in every way possible lol. A couple ways I liked were, crunching them up in the bag, and sprinkling just a little of the seasoning packet in the bag, shake it and eat them like chips. Another way was, splitting them in half, like two pieces of bread, putting peanut butter in the middle and eating them like a very crunchy sandwich lol. There are a hundred ways one can make those noodles! Now, I eat them cuz they're good😄
its a sheet of ice here it rained on the snow then froze/love your channel/my first and only grand child/grand sone will be one next month /hello and happy valentines day to you both /from lonesome in alaska!
Matt and you were certainly brave, I had my eye on all of those dead leaves the whole time making sure they didn’t catch fire and burn the woods down!! Glad you had a beautiful Valentine’s Day to have a romantic picnic lunch!! What is side meat, I assume it’s part of the deer, correct? 😊
Thanks Tipper, you’re always so gracious taking the time to answer followers questions. Don’t know how you do all that you do, as it’s a lot of work I’m sure. 😊

Awww Matt and Tipper you're such a fantastic couple. Happy Valentines Day! Thanks for sharing your special hike, fire and vittles with us.
I love all the beauty in this video. From the sounds and scenery, to the warm and inviting personalities of Matt and Tipper!
Happy Valentines Day!!! My mother back in the day had a pressure cooker on the stove making soup bean....the valve gasket got plugged and the pot exploded. It sounded like a cannon going off and there were pinto beans everywhere! I've been afraid to use one.
The same thing happened to us once. What a mess
Is Matt ok having to sit like he did? That’s hard to do..Tipper you’re much too young to be called grandma! The grandsons could call you Miss Tipper!

Here in northern Illinois, were enjoying the winter that never happened. A half century of winters under my belt and I can't remember one quite like this. Who ever is getting my share of winter and snow, enjoy it.
Thank you for watching!
Please show us those Laurels again when they bloom. Love them. Happy Valentines you two.❤😊 44 years married, and everything that you said is true. We made promises to each other and that meant something to us.
Always love the videos. May God Bless you both and the new little ones coming . Your girls are precious.
Thank you so much!
I have a pressure cooker, a pressure canner, 3 instant pots and an electric pressure canner. I love them all.
The stick to hang the bucket on , now why didn't I think of that , the chickens are getting a modified hanger for their bucket of water ! 😅
Thanks!
❤happy valentine's day 💕 you 2!❤❤❤🎉😊❤❤❤❤
Debbie-you are so good to us! We appreciate your support and you!! 😊
My husband and I don’t really celebrate Valentine’s Day or our anniversary in any big way either but I always say we celebrate being together every day and enjoy our time with one another. We have Valentine’s Day every day just by being together.
Matt being worried about his two baby girls giving birth is the most lovey dovey thing of all❣️😭😭true love …no phoney stuff
wow! Matt’s a survivalist. You are a lucky woman. The world needs more men like that.
All of the videos from youns and your girls are a huge blessing to me though👍
GOD BLESS
Our anniversary is August 27. We have been married for 46. Glen surprises me with flowers and meals all along, but not to celebrate.
Y'all celebrate your love for each other every day not just one or two days out of the year.
The simplicity of your life is abundant. God bless you, Matt, your daughters and grandchildren
Matt, you need to build a bushcraft camp for such occasions.
I was thinking the same thing😂
That is great fun I know! Thank you-can't wait to meet you 😊
😊😊😊😊😊😊
God bless all here.
So did he. No regrets. Ever.
Awesome and genuine couple. We love you and Matt....watching from Virginia. The woods and stream on your property are perfect to explore.
I'm so sorry you lost Bryan.
Eating food outdoors neat a fire is so satifying.❤😊
My hubby and I will be married 45 years this year, and I thank God every day for blessing me with him. 😊❤
Add some carrots and some cabbage to the ramen it is delicious. I love to eat outside.
Sounds great!
I love this video of Matt cooking you a meal.
Have you ever set the woods on fire ? Love watching you all!
Thankfully we haven’t 😀 thank you for watching!!
😀 Yes that confuses some people for sure. Thank you for watching!!
You two are the best couple I know, Happy Valentine Day. God bless your marriage and your whole family.
You are so kind! Thank you!!
Sending prayers for the upcoming babies and their mommas 💛🙏🏻
Enjoy and make time. My sweetheart passed on to Glory in August and I am missing my buddy. This looks exactly like something we would do. He was an outdoorsman and I was a good tagalong. Make all the sweet memories you can.
I'm so sorry you lost him!!
You are both absolute keepers! I always say my husband and I were so busy taking care of the kids and keeping a roof over our heads we didn’t have time to be miserable. 43 years and still going strong !
What an accomplishment!! Thank you 😊
It’s been gorgeous the past few days!!
So pretty 😊
Oh my!! 😊
Such a great day for a hike and a campfire meal. I love the sound of a mountain stream. God bless the two of you. You bring so much peace, joy and hope into our lives.
Lol my husband and I never remember the day of our anniversary but we do remember it's in the first part of January
Lovely picnic and visit in the outdoors. Thanks for taking us along. Praying for Katie and little bit, health and easy delivery. Praying for all of you as well as Granny.
Great to see your green grass, ours is still gray… but spring is coming ❤️
all that work Matt did building the fire base, I thought for sure he was going to rub two sticks together 🔥🔥🔥
Such a Beautiful channel.
You are so kind-thank you 😊
You both are so blessed to have each other! Speaking of all the females, Tipper, I’m so excited for the girls to give you grandsons! 🙏💙🙏
Thank you 😊
That video was precious. Everyday is 'love' day with you 2.
That is so neat 😊
Absolutely Breathtaking on the Gulf Coast USA 🇺🇸 Today ❤❤
Wonderful 😊
You guys are very right about marriage. Have a great day! -much love from NJ ~Mary & fam
I've added a hotdog to ramen noodles sometimes. It may sound a bit strange, but like your meal here, it's not bad. I just add it to the water as it's heating up, before adding the noodles. Another idea I do sometimes is crack and egg in there.
Braver than I, to build a fire among all the leaves … but you have experience than I, so good job!
Hang on, you guys are fixing to move into a whole new realm when you’re grandparents. It throws a major directional change in the trail and the family adventure picks up steam for all and highlights how worth it sticking out the peaks and valleys is and makes you look forward to where it leads.
Loved this video one of my favorite! And the Godly wisdom of marriage really is. God bless you guys and your wonderful family now and future!
Thank you so much!
Tipper, I just wanted to tell you, I made your cheesy potatoes (from your cook book) night before last, and they were a hit! I served them with fried pork chops, and smothered cabbage (in bacon and onions), and it was perfect! My husband took the leftovers to work yesterday 🤍
Your story of Matt's grandma only cooking on high, reminds me of my grandma a little. I also come from a musical family, on my paternal side. My poor grandma didn't have a musical bone in her body, but she'd give it her best effort, bless her. We had to play everything in the key of C, she was notorious for it lol. She could belt it out for certain, as long as it was in her key! 😅🥰
Ramen noodles being back memories lol. Now, I eat them cuz they're good😄
So glad you liked the potatoes!! Thank you for sharing your food memories!! 😊
You have no idea how soothing it is hear the sounds of making a fire.
its a sheet of ice here it rained on the snow then froze/love your channel/my first and only grand child/grand sone will be one next month /hello and happy valentines day to you both /from lonesome in alaska!
Thank you!! One-that is wonderful 😊
😊 Thank you! It is pork-salt pork 😊
Thanks Tipper, you’re always so gracious taking the time to answer followers questions. Don’t know how you do all that you do, as it’s a lot of work I’m sure. 😊
