I love your attitude to cooking. Nothing that isn't necessary. Use proper ingredients. No insistence on "equal sized bits". My kind of soup. Thanks so much. I see the last comment prior to mine was two years ago. I certainly hope you have some other recipes to offer. Really enjoyed this one. Thanks!

A bowel of this on a cold day is great. I always like some kind of a hot sandwich with it.

Watching this while I ticked into my own pea and ham soup. So good, you kinda forget just how good until you have it again.

I think I’ll try this. I like basic recipes. They’ve been around for forever because they’re so good!

Top recipe and well explained. One thing is about giving a dog a cooked bone as it can shatter into splinters when crunch on. My wife had this belief. Somehow in 1983, our dog was hospitalised with the Vet for a week with a stuck chicken bone splinter. Not us. Sandy on coming home would/could not drink water. The Vet said nothing else he could do, I had to put Sandy down which still cuts me up when I think of it.

One of my favorites! You made it perfect with just pepper. Have you ever rinsed the peas first? I slosh it around in a bowl like panning for gold and all kinds of junk comes out that's not pea dust. We have dirty peas in the U.S. :)

This recipe is so elegantly simple, for such a fantastic taste experience! Especially mid-winter. And thoroughly enjoyed for several days after, adding whatever vegetable is nearing its use-by or best-before date from the fridge. When/if I get bored(?) I even experiment with Indian/Thai curry, green, yellow, red spice pastes, coriander, cumin, turmeric, galangal, ginger, garlic, capsicums, cucumbers, carrots, swede, parsnip. dill, parsley, bay-leaf, curry leaf, etc etc. We have FEASTED!!! Hint - go easy at first, but experiment!
