In the credits sequence for the MLP Movie you can actually see the face portion of Storm King’s shattered form blink and look around, might’ve been just a funny visual gag for the credits but maybe he’s not actually dead?

King Sombra from when he was first introduced in S3 feels like an extremely different character from how he appears in S9 and his physical form we've seen in Season 3/5 is changed a bit in Season 9 as well, with some details missing. He felt like a joke in S9 from his earlier appearances and I can't believe they gave him that voice and personality, then wrote him off so early. It's crazy how the comics did him more justice than the actual show.

I grew up with the comics and to be honest they are what made me love sombra as a character, I say this many times when I see someone in this community talks about sombra but, I will never accept that doucebag of a character from season nine as sombra. Sombra should have been Spikes villain. Not only should he find the fact that this tiny baby dragon is seen as the hero of the crystal empire he once ruled to be an insult but the two could also parallel each other as they were both non ponies raised by ponies. He could have been used as an interesting dark mirror image for Spike but in the actual show he doesn't address Spike at all in season 9
As someone who's still on season 6 episode 6, its really cool that my favorite villain got more screen time. I always always loved his design 10 years ago ;-; ❤
About Chrysalis and other guys being there: A - they weren't brought along to fight Sombra, they were used to distract everyone from Ember sneaking into the castle and to snatch the crystal heart. B - None of them, except for maybe Chrysalis, knew about bringing Sombra back, they agreed to this scheme just to get back on their personal enemies from the Mane 6. So i guess Ember just did a really in-depth investigation off-screen.
He had no character in the TV show. The only reason that we knew anything about him is because of exposition. They don't even explain if he was the rightful king or not of the crystal ponies.
I remember getting these comics when they released each month. This story was always my absolute favourite, and I'm pretty sure I still have the comics stashed under my bed.

I feel as if cozy glow was perfect for her role. If fim wanted a “born evil” villain then…. They’d be showing their evil traits from birth. Cozy wouldn’t have time to grow up into an evil mare because she’d end up being stopped by twilight and her friends way before that. I.e. the shows events.
This makes me think about how Sombra and Ganondorf have very similar energy and main-media story. I think this background and prequel story would really fit Gan.
I like to belive the comics are semi-cannon, where they don't happen at the time their witen, my headcannon is that SOTCE takes place after season 10, spike wrote the comics in universe so he could have changed some detals like when the story took place.
Spike is also most likely an unreliable narrator anyway. Some events could have still happened in canon but they happened differently because either spike wasnt there and just heard about it or he has bad memory etc

Sombra has always been my favorite MLP villain out of all the other villains he stands out the most unique. He is the best villain of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic.
For as little screen time he got, always liked Sombra as whole thought he was cool. You know thinking in terms of at least a writing stand point on characters / ponies who deserved better. Flim and Flam. Like despite their name in their debut episode all they did was roll up with a machine that did Exactly as advertised and were simply very good at being sales ponies. There was no trickery or scams and they only got screwed over when they let their own hubris get the best of them and tried to push their machine past what it was capable of - which then ended up creating a bad product. So sure okay maybe a lesson in their about accepting defeat or not trying to do more then what someone/something is capable of I guess but other then that they were was no cheating, stealing or any other sort of well film-flammery Which tbh I think could have actually made for a fun juxtaposition of like because of their names everyone expects the worse/ might think them con men but actually they aren't they are just really good at what they do when it comes to pitching a sale. And also idk maybe lend in an arc of AJ coming to accept and realize she was wrong about them and while maybe she may not care for their particular sale tactics at the end of the day everypony seems happy and they do deliver on their promises or something idk. Yet after that episode they all but discarded that aspect of them in favour of turning them in to full on scam artists/ con men for the most part- can't speak on the comics. Much as I enjoy mlp I will admit they are wildly inconsistant when it comes to like treatment of antagonists/ handling reformation ect.

I honestly expected him to return in the finale as the final boss. I mean he was a shadow at one point, the pony of shadows was corrupted by a darkness. Could have had them MERGE without the later having Stegeon as a host. Resulting in the Mean 3 NEEDING the Main Six, else everything falls to sombra.
If your going to switch up your channels focus I would do it gradually so that there is still mlp content but also the new content you want to do mixed in. That way we can have mlp content for longer because there won’t be as much of it at one time and you can still experiment with whatever you wanna do next. Idk though I’m sure you thought all this out so at the end of the day do whatever you think will be best I’m sure it will work out great best of luck I’ll be watching 👁️👁️🫵🏻

They show up in the special Sunset's Backstage Pass where they use autotune/lip syncing- they're still kind of dickheads but they're trying to make an honest living as performers. I assume having their amulets broken while in the human realm basically just made them human
Personally while I know people enjoy the idw backstory I personally was never a fan of it, it always felt disappointing to me that his mysterious and unique dark magic just happened to be something he had because he was an umbrum. Not looking into forbidden texts, or immoral studies, or anything. It's also the very lame reason given for why he doesn't have a cutie mark. If anything it feels like a copout.

I do like the 2 variations in the IDW:
- His origin story then his redemption final with the reveal of the Umbrum Shadow Ponies,
And his light version of a reverse mirror world where he chose to be corrupted by evil to save the one he loved ,Celestial.

I honestly expected him to return in the finale as the final boss.
I mean he was a shadow at one point, the pony of shadows was corrupted by a darkness.
Could have had them MERGE without the later having Stegeon as a host.
Resulting in the Mean 3 NEEDING the Main Six, else everything falls to sombra.

If your going to switch up your channels focus I would do it gradually so that there is still mlp content but also the new content you want to do mixed in. That way we can have mlp content for longer because there won’t be as much of it at one time and you can still experiment with whatever you wanna do next. Idk though I’m sure you thought all this out so at the end of the day do whatever you think will be best I’m sure it will work out great best of luck I’ll be watching 👁️👁️🫵🏻
I agree with this video, except for the beginning--how come everyone keeps saying he was killed? In my opinion, it just seems like he was banished back to ice. He's sort of just a living shadow that can form a body at will, lol

Personally while I know people enjoy the idw backstory I personally was never a fan of it, it always felt disappointing to me that his mysterious and unique dark magic just happened to be something he had because he was an umbrum. Not looking into forbidden texts, or immoral studies, or anything. It's also the very lame reason given for why he doesn't have a cutie mark.
If anything it feels like a copout.

@diminie_chimket yeah I know that, but he dosent have to swear in every single video, especially if younger audiences are watching this, I bet a lot of parents would be upset with CXCD for teaching young kids how to swear. I'm not talking about teens 13-18 yrs old, no I'm talking about much younger kids ages 6-12 is my main concern. I'm 17, so I don't mind, but when it comes to strict parents, they wouldn't want their kids watching him.
