As a Kings fan, Brandt Clarke will almost surely breakout. 6 points (2 goals, 4 assists) in 16 games last year (30 point pace) while being jerked in and out of the lineup is pretty respectable - At the time the Kings were rotating Clarke and Spence in/out of the lineup, which was the dumbest strategy ever. Thankfully, this year he'll be a full time NHLer and man is this kid dynamic offensively. Just put up one of the best AHL seasons ever for a rookie d-man. I imagine he ends up with 40+ points pretty easily.
The only thing that could maybe prevent him from 40+ is Doughty continuing to run the first powerplay unit but I’d imagine Clarke gets his reps there too. I agree I think Clarke is a big breakout candidate
Alex Laferriere could have a solid season as well, early talks that if QB works at C2 the young man from Harvard will get a look with Kempe and Kopi. Could be a sleeper.
@@CoolHandRobb, sleeper maybe but I think he will start the season with Turcotte and Foegele. Danaualt is still the number 2 center. PP2 for sure though.
FINALLY ANOTHER KINGS FAN
Alex Laferriere of the Kings for sure. He will likely get PP2 minutes, so he could get 20+ goals this year. His defensive game is still lacking, but offensively he is becoming a real threat.
I like this pick a lot. Laferriere's game was a little unpolished last year but that's to be expected for a 21 year old fresh out of college. He showed flashes of really nice skill last year but was a bit snakebitten at times as far as production goes. I could definitely see him rounding out his game this offseason and being a really solid 40-50 point top 9 winger next year.
@@DrBeerGames I completely agree. I think he can become a sniper if he develops right. Somewhere in the 25-30 goal and 15-20 assist range.
Honestly it was not wrong to put Kirby Dach on your list...last end of the season, he was training in order to possibly come back and was already on the ice, so he's pretty much ready and probably is doing training to stabilize everything. In the pre-season last year, he was the best player, very solid in each play. It was looking very promising, i'm very curious with which player he will play...that first line of Slafkovsky, Suzuki and Caufield is here to stay !
I know I’m biased, but I could see Dylan Holloway breaking out next season. His career high is currently only 9 points in the regular season, but he was solid in the playoffs last season. Depending on where he plays in the lineup, he could really improve this upcoming season
Yeah he’ll do wonders for the Blues
@@caseyjones5930 Honestly though! I wanted him to stay in Edmonton, but he could prove to be very good in St. Louis
Dylan Guenther for sure was on pace for 35 goals last season and is a beauty
Almost time for a too early bold predictions. Raymond breaks 90 points this year.
He was incredible during the last stretch. I also see him near that point total if he plays anywhere near that level.
Nice to see some Jake Sanderson love. Underrated and kinda hated league wide. He has the potential to be the next Jaccob Slavin very soon
I think with perron up front and Jensen on the backend, taking pressure off Zub on the rd, the pairs will be more balanced all around and with perron on pk1 with Sanderson stutzle thachuck and norris/batherson is going to do much better this year.
Cole perfetti is definitely my breakout candidate
Dach needs to stay healthy, 75+ games played would be ideal, but ill take around 60 at this point.
Points wise, 40 to 60 pts depending on the amount of games played.
If he gets injured severely again, that glass canon reputation is going to stick his whole career.
yeah he played only 45 % of games available i doubt he is the real thing
Another Sabre would be F Peterka. He & Quinn will be/should be the next core group playing top min & top PP min.
He has kinda done that already. Finished the season on the top line. Is projected to be there from the start of this season.
Quinn for sure
Guenther & Eklund were hammering the end-of-season plus are returning both to improved teams for sure.
I liked Bensons year too given he was so young and in Buffalo
Im looking forward to year 2 of Pavol Mintyukov.
4G 24A 28P is really solid for a 20 year old Defenseman. Im not looking too hard into his -20 +/- because we had like... 3 players with a positive +/-
Im expecting him to improve to somewhere around 40-50P this season and a neutral +/- as a first or second pairing D-man and PPQB. Here is hoping Cronin lets him play like he loves to play and allows him to shoot more frequently
If Gabriel Vilardi plays a full season i could see him doubling his career best 41 points. Shane Pinto, Kent Johnson. But honestly the #1 i have on breakout watch it Owen Tippet, guys i insanely fast, amazing shot, i could see him breaking out as a elite scoring threat, hitting 40 goals.
Buffalo could be scary good if there young forwards take a next step - and that top 4 D plays well. Meanwhile, Sabres prospect pool is the best in the league
As a Jackets fan, 1000% agree with the Boqvist pick. Partially because he’s a sneaky good puck mover and stick checker, mostly because we can’t have nice things.
Höglander he had a limited role In the bottom six scored 20 with barely any power play time and him probably getting top six minutes unless Daniel sprout plays really well
Another habs underrated guy is Joshua Roy. He could explode this season. Theres a possibility of overcoming newhook in the habs depth chart as soon as this year imo
He could, but as a Habs fan, I don’t think it’s this year, but I love his game and he’ll be a valuable piece for this franchise going forward
overrated hes a 3rd line player
@@anza7522underrated player top line player on most teams
Not a sabres fan, but man a top 4 of Dahlin - Samuelsson and Power - Byram has massive potential. Their offense is still overrated imo, but it might not matter with a defense like that.
Kirby Dach will assist on all 70 Patrik Laine goals add 20 goals for a 90 point 2c 😍
Maurice Rocket Richard Trophy to Laine on his first Habs season would be nice. I jokily predicted 64 goals 35 assists for 99 points for Laine this season, but even half that will make me happy.
Thank you to you and THG for giving me solid NHL content during the summer. 🫡🍻
I think Matty Knies could surpass 50 points this year. He’s very skilled and works extremely hard
I'm gonna add a few more of my own choices later, but right now I can say you're right on the money concerning Kirby Dach, he ended the 22-23 season (where he got injured a few times too) on a high note and pre-season and even just the 2 games he was able to play (damn you Jarred Tinordi), he was all the fire and "hype" Chicago had drafted him for (yet kept him on the 4th line at 18-19 years old). Montreal will now be killer at the centre, Suzuki, Dach (who can play wing too), Newhook and Evans (a perfect 4th line and PK centre, wins his faceoffs and works like crazy around the boards). I'll add only one guy for Montreal right now and make another post for other players in teams I follow more than others enough to make good educated guesses....Guhle will be pushing on Matheson's spot as the #1 offensive defenseman for the Habs this season, likely will not toss him out of the first slot in the first pair entirely, but will have close to double the points he had last season, as long as he remains healthy. Last year was a big improvement after the horrible records of games missed to injury for the team overall after the record breaking year of 22-23 (beating their own record of games missed to injury from 21-22, it was incredibly frustrating). Caufield also likely has recuperated 100% by now and will much likely score 40 goals, at least, it's already good that he improved his playmaking last season and ended up with more assists than goals.
Just one quick name : Chycrun, he'll become the beast offensive D that Ottawa unfortunately couldn't keep, Ottawa no longer can complain about the depth of the talent on their blueline, so he will get all the minutes he need now.
I didn’t read this all but yes
@@Habsfan56744 lol, thats fine, when I'm tired I tend to type fast and a lot, paradoxical I know.
@@severed111 lmao
Oilers fan, but Broberg is a guy I see making a massive jump next season. Dispite how little he played last year. He came in during the playoffs and gave us really good minutes when we needed it and finally has an opportunity to be an everyday NHLer next season(on his off side).
For the Blues?
I’m legit praying for Dach not to get injured this year he’s such a good player with good potential it’s just his injury luck is so bad even when he’s playing for Canada
Thank you for the Jack Quinn support. He’s been so good when he’s healthy. I can also see Ryan McLeod breaking out with more ice time plus PP time
Here is my Senators Breakout players.....
Travis Hamonic- with solid goalie could end up helping Hamonic's career and he can focus on his own play
Forsberg- after Senators added right side defenseman, could end up helping him out plus the new staff coaches could help Forsberg career
Noah Gregor- Senators has speed in the lineup plus smart passes in the lineup, this could help Gregor opportunities to move the puck around and take shots at the net, and play more games, he wasn't playing enough
Tyler Kleven- he only played 17 games, this season he might play more games, that could be good enough for a break out, if he can use his speed and skills, who knows what he is caple of
Daniil Tarasov breakout season incoming. In just saves and goals against he had the 7th best performance (per game) of any NHL starter last season.
1. Andersen
2. Hellebuyck
3. Demko
4. Binnington
5. Swayman
6. Ullmark
7. TARASOV
8. Sorokin
9. Shesterkin
10. Daccord
Broberg on Oilers. I am biased but he played really well for a rookie in the Finals. If we find a solid partner for him he can easily push to be a top 4 dman
I sure hope so
He's on the blues not oilers. Oilers lost 2 good players for nothing
found your channel during covid and havent stopped watching. You had like 7k subs. Shows you continue to make quality content about one of my favorite sports and awesome seeing you grow. Need you to replace marek on 32 thoughts
I do think Mason Lorei will end up breaking out. With the chemistry he developed with Charlie McAvoy and a ton of other defensemen on the Bruins, I think Lorei really proved himself worthy of an nhl roster spot, and he showed up big time for the Bruins in the playoffs. Maybe he will take a little more time than I think and breakout in 2026 but for right now as I see it, I do think Mason Lorei will break out this season and have a spot in the NHL with the Bruins. Would like to hear your thoughts though so if anybody has any ideas or information im missing please leave a comment. W vid Nyquist.
Would like to say Kaapo Kakko, but it seems like for the past 4-5 off-season, we've been saying this is the year he does it. I really think a guy like Oliver Wahlstrom or Dylan Holloway could be some candidates to break out this season, though.
C'mon Kirby! You got this buddy!
Jonathan Drouin for sure is going to get more points this year. Gonna be playing with MacKinnon on the top line and on PP1. Had a resurgent season and took some time to adjust but managed a career year even with a 10 game pointless streak at the beginning of it. Guy is getting 70 points this season if healthy
Dostal, Mintyukov, Zellweger, Carlsson, Gauthier ...
One, you could have picked just one. But i guess with all that talent on the Ducks none of them will break out
Dorofeyev will be biggest breakout for sure unreal shot & finally gonna have a shot regularly in top 6 I think he can be 80 + point nhler his offensive tool box is great
COLE PERFETTI
I think Eklund is an obvious breakout candidate, especially if he’s linked with Celebrini. Closed out the season with 11pts in his last 10 games. 🔥
If Mercer plays most of the season with Meier and Hughes his numbers should really increase. Same concept as Novak playing with March, and Stamkos.
I really enjoy these kinds of videos, they make me look forward to the upcoming season even more 😀😍
Simon Edvinsson will play 20+ minutes in red wings, I mean who else will. Seider back will be broken if Edvinsson doesn't have breakout season.
No Kings player on the list is a bit shocking, because there are so many candidates, Clarke and Spence are gonna replace Roy's minutes, hopefully both of them get PP time as they are so offensively gifted, Lafferiere is gonna get a bigger role, penciled in to start camp on Kopitar's line, he's been working on his shot in the off season so I got him scoring 20 next year. Byfield has another gear in him, and then there's the wild cards of Turcotte, Thomas, Fagemo and hopefully Kaliyev sticks around.
Don’t want to jinx anything but as a Flyers fan, I think Cam York could legitimately establish himself as a top pair guy for Philly.
30 points, and he was really solid defensively and even Torts said how he’s one of the best defenders on the team. If he can keep his defensive play up, the offensive should eventually come. Wouldn’t be shocked to see him get between 40-50 points.
Definetly think Poitras is also in this camp. If he gets a little bigger and can stay healthy, kid could be great for the Bruins
Erik Gustafsson powerplay specialist should be pp1 on Detroit
Philip Broberg, Slafkovsky & Dylan Guenther for me
Boqvist if hes healthy and thats a big if, he will have 50 points on Floridas 1st powerplay
If there is any year for it to happen, it would be this year for a guy like Morgan Frost to absolutely break the hell out.
Silovs Hoglander and podkolzon are candidates for the Canucks that I think can break out this season
as a pens I think Drew O’Connor is a good one because he is going to be playing with Sid and probably PP2 minutes
I did not expect you to actually say Boqvist for this video, and was prepared to comment him. I definitely see him QBing PP1, Ekblad is just not that guy anymore and he makes the most sense.
(BTW it's pronounced Bo-quist...sorry not sorry)
Poitras and Lohrei. Both will be full time if healthy.
think luke hughes will break out with some more secure goaltending and a mentor and pairing like pesce and his skating ability think he’s going to go crazy
Marco Rossi is due. With top line minutes he’ll be insane
Do you think Lane Hutson will get 50+ points if he plays all 82 games this season?
My guess is 30ish, but I don’t think 50 is out of the realm of possibilities!
@@OhNyquist My analysis too...have you guys seen his legs photo right now !?!? That is insanity for his age and it's so similar to Martin St-Louis...i guess they ask to boost his speed this summer, which make sense since his hockey IQ and vision is top tier...speed will make him adapt faster to play !
Max 5. Dudes washed
@lukeperry1689 you haven't even seen him play have you? Or your salty habs got a makar
@@cadenswedgan91I'm going to go out on a limb and say he was just joking considering he used washed for a prospect instead of bust or the sort
I think Adam Fantilli, Simon Nemec, Josh Doan, tried to choose other players you and everyone else haven’t mentioned.
Well, one player west of Tennessee, guess there are none out there in the west...
Is stamkos just a winger now?
Sanderson will be great 100%
Add Leo Carlsson to the mix
If zetterlund plays with Granlund and Eklund most of this year he gets 30 goals
I feel like Jake debrusk is going to shine in VAN
Shane Pinto and to a lesser extent Ridley Greig could be set out for breakout seasons
I think Matthew Knies is a better breakout candidate than Bobby McMann. He’s gonna be in the top 6 for sure and I think McMann might end up on the 3rd line if they resign Robertson. Plus I just think Knies is just a better offensive player
If dach can actually stay healthy then I can see him have a very good season
Jeff skinner gonna shock some people playing with Mcdrai
I don't feel that he qualifies as a "breakout player" since he's played for over a decade.
Skinner will thrive in Edmonton
I actually like his game. Horrible defensive skills but he is an agitator and scores lots of goals
@@nummytacos128 I think it’ll be a breakout from last season, player can breakout at any time and he could very well have a 30+ goal season this year
@@Theearthisflat13 I just feel that he's already a good player who had a down year. I wouldn't personally call him a breakout player when 30 goals is historically pretty normal for him.
@@nummytacos128 fair enough 🤷♂️
Newhook. If he's healthy 50+ points. I'm calling it
Dylan Guenther and Logan Cooley will both breakout
Connor brown at the young age of 30
It’s a long shot, but I’m hoping william eklund has a break out year. (Not impossible, but it’s the sharks)
William Eklund will Breakout 4 sure
Stamkos is a center, i imagine he is the #2 center unless novak plays lights out
Yeah but where stamkos succeeds the most is on the left circle...and his face off percentage isn't anything crazy either...so i could definitely see him making the switch to left wing especially singe centers are expected to do a lot more on defense rotation wise and stamkos is atrociously bad on defense especially on 5v5
@cozmicking7275 good take, I can see it happening as well. It's just they may be not see Novak as talented enough to center a top 6 line.
Conner mcdavids going to have a breakout year.
No DeBrusk?
He was near point per game in 2022-23 and regularly a 50-60 point player. That's around the projection of a 14th overall pick.
I mean he’s a 3 time 25+ goal scorer, I could see him scoring 30+ but he’s already a pretty established top six player.
@@OhNyquist he could take off to another level especially with the talent he will be playing with
why is it taking so long sign Mo & Razor?
No William Eklund is crazy
billy bob and mackie c will score one sharkillion goals
He already had 45 points last season. I think he's gonna make a big jump, but that's more a "leveling up" than "breaking out"
Daddy’s back
Jake Sanderson szn loading
whose here after the laine trade popped out of buttfuck nowhere?😂😂
Jack roslovic 35g season incoming
35 goal loll come on
what if seider breaksout and gets to 100 points
Gotta sign him first
Seider is gonna be picking up the slack of the Wings awful defense. It would be surprising if he gets over 60
No Holtz!?
No rossi?
Holloway?
Really like Sandersson and Quinn picks! Can't agree more!
Do you consider Jake Neighbours broken out?
Dylan Holloway?
Jake debrusk or vasily podkolzin
Debrusk is already pretty established, even if he's able to find a slightly higher level next season. I haven't given up on Podkolzin, but admittedly we didn't really see signs last season that a big breakout is around the corner
Matt Poitras is going to make you regret not putting him on this list this year, i feel like he is going to have his breakout year ! Love the content brother ✊💖
I think he’s in for the Sophomore Slump this year. Missed ample time and hasn’t played since shortly after the WJC. There’s going to be rust
I think Pavel Mintyukov also can break out this year fir the Ducks
This guy just hate the jakets never called about them ever I don’t think lmao
Lol@2 Western C teams
William Eklund is going to hit 60pts this season and lead the Sharks
I like Veleno to breakout for the Wings
How much can a career bottom 6 player break out? Dude is lucky to even be playing over some of the Wings prospects
@@petec9201 You act like Veleno has been in this league for ages… he's only 24 and not even in his prime yet.
An idea for videos during this quiet offseason is also going over predictions from last season and seeing how you did. Like season standing, breakout players, Bold predictions etc
Jonatan Berggren and Simon Edvidsson
Hendrix LaPierre, Yegor Chinakhov, and Olen Zellweger, though they'll have to fight to get enough minutes
Berkly Catton
