I think for me the thing that’s best about Fleury is I’m not sure if any player has overcome some of the low points and managed to come back better than him.
That was a unique decision and tough decision for Rutherford and the Pens in 2017. You got to think that Pitt would've had some more playoff success if they kept that elite tandem together.
@@HelloMattMat With the expansion draft they could only protect 1. And that 1 should have been Fleury. He beat Ottawa, pretty much, by himself on their way to the stanley cup. Matt had 1 good season and that was all. Should have been used as trade bait before the draft to get some pics or some prospects.
Flower doesn't just stop pucks, he shames the puck publicly. One time, Flower attended the running of the bulls, no bull made it passed the opening gate. Every time flower does pushups on ice, an earthquake follows.
Weirdest thing about him is that he's not weird! Goalies are supposed to be weird, and he may be the most normal guy to ever own the position the way he does.
The resume speaks for itself. First round pick, helped bring a franchise from the brinks of relocation, 3 Stanley Cups, 2nd in wins all time and still counting and just a good, funny teammate (ask anybody whos played with him)
I watched him all of his career. He's not very good under pressure. He's lucked out playing on some good teams. His playoff track record is spotty at best. I fully believe that the Penguins would've won more Cups had they had better goaltending in the playoffs.
This is his last year, mostly so he could mentor the up and comers as they weren’t ready to step in. I think he only planned on playing a handful of games.
He is the most overrated goalie in history who has no business in the hall based on skills. He got bailed out by his team or Murray for all of the cups and has wasted his teams multiple seasons throughout his career with playoff choking. Had he not played for superteams for most of his career, he would be remembered as an above average goalie but a bust 1oa, which he obviously still is. But for whatever reason people base their entire opinion on him on his nice personality, the Lidström save and the Caps game 7 (which were of course mentioned in this video lol).
To top off a fantastic career as a player, he’s a legitimately awesome person on and off ice. There’s a reason people love the flower.
This guy needs to be a first round Hall of Fame vote.
💯
Unquestionnable
Flyers fan here. That man is a bona-fide first ballot hall of famer.

I use flowers number for every sport hes my absolute fav.
One of the all time greats and THE best guy ever! Love you Flower! Miss you Flower! LGP!🖤💛🏒✌️
I know his time in Chicago was short but man he was definitely a bright spot on that terrible Hawks team getting his 500 win with the Hawks.
I really am going to miss watching flower play
Great video, where have you been bro..
Thanks my man, it’s been a hectic summer haha but I’m excited to get back to posting regularly!
He’s had a solid career it was nice to see his early highlights.
The worst move the Pens ever made was keeping Murray and letting Fleury go to Vegas in the expansion draft.
We should have kept fleury and let murray go in that draft
Totally agree!
And then my retarded ass team traded him at least we won but if we had fluery I bet It would've been 2

Just no…you tried way too hard on this one..,

From skill sure a top10 of all time.
From the human being maybe even the GOAT. :)
There is a reason, he even is loved in Philly. :)
Loved in Philly when not on their team says something.
@@MbisonBalrog exactly!
Everybody loves the flower. :)
Kindness is a weakness to the indecent but virtuous to the decent. Flower is amount our most decent.
When MAF takes his goalie mask off, there is another goalie mask beneath. He is the Chuck Norris of tending.
Unreal that he only won one Vezina. Not to take away from some modern big name goalies, but Fleury was the last goaltending icon

He shure Won that game tonite against Tampa, with BigTime saves
Yes.
The 🌺 Flower will and is in the top 5 goalies of all time...
And im a proud Pittsburgher that had the privilege of witnessing him in his prime.....
Who is the best canadian goalie right now?
Jake Allen
carter hart
May still be Fleury. There is no heir apparent.
@@thebigpicture2032 maybe Devon Levi
I don’t care you ripped the theme of “how good was actually” off, please keep making these. No one really does hockey versions.
Childhood hero
8:50 pain
spoiler: really fucking good.
I wish he would have joined Montreal at some point. That's kind of weird that every good french player from Montreal/Quebec always plays elsewhere. :(
its because the Habs are always decent so they never get good draft picks
How do you not like Fleury?

Just this evening, I watched him defeat my Tampa Bay Lightning.
Yours? Do you own the team? Didn't think so. Grow up
Well he used to be good, but recently, not very. So, I think it would be a good idea if he retired.
He already announced that he's retiring after this season
Needs to retire and open up a position for up and comers.
This is his last year, mostly so he could mentor the up and comers as they weren’t ready to step in. I think he only planned on playing a handful of games.

He has a .912 sv% in 1028 games and is the second winningest goalie in NHL history. You're actually just stupid if you believe that.
