    I just picked one of these up yesterday. Last time I used an mpc was in the mpc1000 days. The looper is pretty much the reason I bought the one.

      Congrats! I think you won't regret buying this. It's a little bit overwhelming in the first hour, but there are a lot of well-made tutorials on YT...

    i use the looper all the time for electric guitar, bass, vocals on the looper screen i export to a drum pad to fire it off
    i make 'drum kits' for specific instrument such as electric guitar takes, bass, and vocals.
    note: the looper doesn't have an UNDO feature so be aware.. you can drop in and out for over dubs by the way.

      Thanks for your feedback! This is a workflow that I found for myself recently, too. Record a clip, stop it, assign it to a pad, record next clip. It's not seamless, but it's a very quick and convenient way to come up with tracks / complete songs based on acoustic instruments.

      @@mr_floydst yeh it's excellent way of working with real instruments, reminds me of my tascam 244 portastudio days in the early 80's
      I probably know 30% of what the mpc can do but i've found a good way that works for me, very impressed with my mpc one.
      great channel btw.

    So cool that this is all possible in just one box.
    If I ever want to go dawless, I'll just get this thing!

      Thanks! It's basically a Linux computer with a custom GUI and audio optimizations. Like the Korg Kronos / Nautilus.

    Your videos are always exceptionally inspiring - thanks for taking the time to make them. I've not used the looper at all on mine yet but I'll definitely give it a go with the toy drumkit my partner regrets buying for me!

      Thank you very much! So, which drumkit did you get?

      @@mr_floydst it's an actual literal toy drumkit, she bought it for me as a joke but but I ended up playing it for ages 😆

    That was the missing link in my setup. Makes sampling / Looping with the MPC now very simple.
    Very cool that the MPC supports the H5 USB BusPowered Mode and the Multi channel mode - which makes it a 4 channel mixer/interface for the MPC to go.
    Thx Flyod.

    Good video 👍 I must give this a try. I sample rather than using the audio tracks but that means playing on the first beat or it becomes a nuisance to line the recording up with the sequence. The looper doesn't have that problem and I didn't realize it's so easy to save a loop as a sample.

    • @mr_floydst
      @mr_floydst  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks! I often record a loop until it sounds right, then assign it to a pad (as a drum program) - not a seamless workflow, but a convenient one.

    Thank, thats good info! I believe (hope) the MPC Studio PC software/aka MPC Beats has the same capabilities? If so, you've especially helped me!

      Thanks for watching! As far as I know, the MPC software has the same features as the hardware version. You can try the DAW for free.

    Made it look easier, honestly not sure of the Force sampler is identical, can't remember if it overdubs I'll have to try

      I heard there are differences in the OS between the Force and the One, but I don't know the details. :)

    I have the Zoom H6, so I have to connect from the power input of the H6 to the usb of the MPC One, isn't it? thx for your video

      Hi, thanks for watching! That should work, indeed. Don't forget to put the H6 into interface mode. ;-)

    I am still trying to master this looper, thanks for this info! Would it be possible for you to hook up a midi foot controller and turn it into a more traditional guitar style stomp box looper with start & stop functions at your feet?

    • @mr_floydst
      @mr_floydst  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, thanks for watching! Yes, it's possible. If you map the start/stop signals to that controller, this should work.

  • @fcfc
    @fcfc ปีที่แล้ว

    Is there a way to have multiple layers with the looper? For example one for each pass, then to be able to solo/mute them or add effects..

    • @mr_floydst
      @mr_floydst  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You can indeed leave the looper screen while it's running, assigning your current recording to a pad or an audio track, then clear the looper and seamlessly record another instrument / another guitar sound. This takes some seconds obviously, but once you know the workflow, you can do this quite quickly.

    hi mate , i went out and i bought myself a Zoom Microphone because i loved this processed you shared on your video , but i having some issues . my MPC is send a audio signal to my microphone and it is acting as a speaker . so every loop it records itself and its crazy , any idea what i missed here?

    • @mr_floydst
      @mr_floydst  ปีที่แล้ว

      Is it possible you're using speakers and the mic picks up the speakers? (Use a headphone for recording, in that case).
      If not, check the settings on the ZOOM device. There are two buttons for the two stereo inputs, try turning off one of the inputs. There's also a mixer screen - see if you're creating a mix of the two inputs there.

    you dont get any latency when recording through the USB? because when i use the 6.3mm inputs, i get latency with the looper which makes it not quite usable.. :/

    • @mr_floydst
      @mr_floydst  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I can't remember to get notable latency when I made this video, but then again I barely know how to hold a guitar correctly ;-)
      I'll try again and report back...

    man this is super not practical for a live setting. that was a lot of steps.

    • @mr_floydst
      @mr_floydst  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for watching! In live situations, you're better off with a dedicated hardware looper.
      In defense of MPC, this video covers a lot of "if, then"s. In reality, you switch on the MPC, add the looper, set the tempo and length and that's it.
