- "The fiery fumes radiated off the hulking mass as it trudged down the dank corridor on deck 3, vaguely heading towards the distant sound it had heard. It didn't know how it came into existence, but the only thing it knew is that it needed to hunt, to kill...to annihilate any life it felt in it's vicinity. Just then, a clanging sound of metal on metal echoed down the hallway and pierced the fragile silence. The molten beast looked up, a piteous look on it's hard face and started to stomp in the direction of the clang. The metal flooring hissed as it's burning appendages slammed into the ground, and it's deep growling moans got louder as it reached it's destination. It entered the room the sound had emanated from, looked inside and began waving it's massive head in all directions. It then stopped for a few moments, almost suspended in time, then snapped it's head to a closed locker, ripped it opened, and then grabbed me on either side of my head, the last things I heard were the hissing sounds of my flesh."

Okay, they super messed up the game's audio in this. There's supposed to be ambient tracks, ship noises groaning, alarms blaring, monster noises and all that, and it's just completely silent. You can tell they can hear it though, because they refer to the alarm going off when we can't hear it.
It's there, just very quiet. Easier to notice when using headphones.

If you're wondering why the sound effects are weird, it's because they lost the game audio and didn't have time to redo the episode, so Matt just added a bunch of sound effects to the video in post.

Because randomized monsters would be great. It is like turning on some shitty horror movie without knowing what it is about. And you would be grabbing extinguishers when the current monster is that liam like vent crawler.
It spawns one of the three monsters every time you start, and there's just the one monster that "follows" you around the ship (ie it just uses bullshit game logic to spawn him in nearby)
Edward Hunter Actually, you can go the entire game without coming across the monster... It's there, but will ignore you unless you attract its attention (line of sight and loud noises). It doesn't randomly spawn-jump everywhere like tech-demo Jason Vorhees :P
Monstrum 2 is coming. We may no longer have a Zaibatsu, but if Pat likes Dead by Daylight, he may get a GOOD game in which to once again bless us with his baby screams.

Alex Austin explain please, they can hear everything, but we can't hear it? how does that work. for example they can hear footsteps, scary music, soundeffects and voice messages but we can't hear any of that. I bet someone messed up the recording, editing or rendering, so as far as I can tell it's on them
Popcorn I've read from other sources that trying to record audio for this game tends to be a bit shaky, so unless you spend ages messing around in the settings it'll refuse to pick up some of those sound effects. They might not have noticed until they stopped recording, and by then it's too late to fix the problem with editing.

they mentioned on the podcast that they don't know, they have gotten to the point were they upgrade their recording equipment so much they barely understand how to use it
Matt said while streaming on Twitch a few hours ago that the game audio actually didn't record at all for this video. He went back into the game later and recorded some sound effects to put in, so that's why it's not entirely silent.
