Seen these guys many times over the years , starting in the 70's, born and raised about 50 miles from where they started, OMD- Standing on the Rock, Chicken Train and Jackie Blue are very good
This was my first concert in 1974 with Chicago, the Doobie Brothers and Dan Fogelburg !! My first of several hundred... back when they were affordable !! ❤️❤️
"If you wanna meet an angel you have to find her where she fell" a slight accidental rewrite that is true of my love life. That's a great song long forgotten.
I discovered these guys in 1976 and they are without a doubt my favorites of all time. They never fail to put a smile on my face. I have tickets to to see them in September 2024 in their farewell tour. Can[t wait.
Love this band. Another great song from them is "Jackie Blue". But if you really want to check them out & laugh & have fun, watch them perform "Chicken Train" in 1976 at The Old Grey Whistle Test in London on BBC TV.
Their entire first album is a gold mine of great songs. You will not regret taking the time to listen to the whole album. "Road To Glory" and "Black Sky" stick out in my mind but the whole thing is truly worthy.
Ive seen them 4 times in concert.. Amazing!!! They've signed ny t shirt i have a guitar cube.. and audio graphic dvd... They came to our podunk town of 900 population Texas county Missouri in 1985. Open field stage a blast i was 20 years old living in Smyrna Georgia and we drove 9 hours home after work on a Friday to see the concert Saturday afternoon with a keg of beer ... Incredible Fun Loving Band.. would see them again if they ever cone close enough to hone. Thanks Britt you akways pic the besties!!! Pick Em Up Truck Gearl ❤❤❤❤😅😊🤣🥰🥰🥰🤠🤠✌️
“You get what you get and you don’t pitch a fit.” Love that! Lol.. Also love the fact that you’re exploring the southern rock world.. Now, Skynyrd please. 😁😁
Black Oak Arkansas: Uncle Elijah, Halls of Karma, Hot Rod, When Electricity Came to Arkansas, Happy Hooker, Hot N Nasty, Up, Fever In My Mind, and so many more!!!
"It'll Shine When It Shines" by far my favorite Daredevils tune. Others worth a listen... Homemade Wine, Country Girl, E E Lawson, Probably Always Will and as numerous others have stated Chicken Train. Love your reaction selections!
Love that style of harmonica playing "Spoonful" by Cream has some of that sound, too. Early proto-rock. Rolling Stones had some good harmonica stuff, too. Love the whole sound of this piece. You definitely need to put in the work, and sometimes you need to piss some people off, to make the world a better place. Sometimes you've gotta flip over the tables of the money changers in the temple!
As always your reactions are superb and your interpretation spot on! Such a pleasure to follow your stream and its growth! You and your cousin always have a perspective that I can connect to.
If you haven't already, catch 'Jackie Blue'. The mid-70s video version that has the 'Old Grey Whistle Test' sign in the stage background. Phenomenal! I was enchanted by this song in 1974. IMO, nothing else they did matches this.
@brittreacts thank for reviewing our old song. Please visit our channel where you’ll find a brand new EDM remix and animated video for “IF YOU WANNA GET TO HEAVEN” just released last Friday August 23! 😃
Its about the good you do others in need....picture the yin yan symbol..the peak of light is met with the mass of darkness...so when you raise some darkness it creates some room for you to move on up..❤
Rules of other people's expectations of what you should be . That's not true freedom. I have always been the black sheep of a whole family of black sheep 😂❤
This is the first I've noticed that you're a tambourine girl. I'm sure you get tons of requests but I truly believe, even if you don't react to these tunes, that you'll be thoroughly enchanted by the fun, fun guy who plays tambourine sometimes for Postmodern Jukebox. He has a large cult following of his own even though he's mostly relegated to non-spotlight parts. You'll LOVE him. Check out PMJs version of Africa or the "Friends" theme song and watch for 'Tambourine Guy', who's credited with the musicians as being played by 'Tambourine Guy'. It's a whole meme..... Just for you. (I really love the Africa video....).
Jackie Blue is nice. their big hit. But Mr Powell is inspiring, gorgeous etc. About Major Powell who led the first US expedition down the Grand Canyon in 1874. The splendor, the wonder. Powell then became the first director of the US Geological Survey.
Amplified harmonica is known as a Mississippi Saxophone. When are you going to react to "MY Elusive Dreams ' with Glen Campbell and Tammy Wynette? I paid for it long ago.
I've been taking the song literally for 50 years --> BUT I AGREE that "Sometimes you got to shake the table, baby." The Blues are Better th-cam.com/video/b3ZWEokxWPg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=aA1kYjidWYGwefAW
my dumb ass heard you say 'my brother and i are the black sheep of the family' and thought the next words were gonna be 'because the rest of our family are actual sheep.'
If you think I'm off no problem but your general mannerism's in your reactions reminds me of the movie Grosse Pointe Blank and the mannerism's Minnie Driver as a radio D.J. Total coincidence but just if you ever watch it it'd be interesting if you can see a similarity.
Not related, but you have mentioned your faith before so you might be interested in singer/songwriter Garth Hewitt. He is described as Christian and has been performing for over 50 years in the folk/protest genre, not proselytism. "My Name is Palestine" was recorded a few years ago and is very relevant to today's events.

"chicken train " !! gotta hear at least once . "standing on the rock " and "beauty in the river " these are one of my favorite bands
Southern Rock ruled the air waves in the 70's. I was a stage hand and remember working Black Oak Arkansas. You should listen to Jim Dandy.
I saw a Black Oak Arkansas when I what was in junior high, it was a great show.
Did you work with Black Oak in 70's? I went to school with their managers wife.
Tax man, uncle Elijah
Hot n Nasty
Shawn Lane played with them when he was 14. Still considered the master.
My favorites are Standing on The Rock, Spaceship Orion, Country Girl, and Road to Glory are great Ozark tunes

Yep, as many others have said, you got to hear their massive hit Jackie Blue to understand why this band became so well known.
No 1 song in 1975 if I remember right.
Love this band. Another great song from them is "Jackie Blue". But if you really want to check them out & laugh & have fun, watch them perform "Chicken Train" in 1976 at The Old Grey Whistle Test in London on BBC TV.
Great suggestion. You get some music history/unusual instruments added to the mix. Entertainment and education at the same time!!!!

It absolutely needs that harmonica and tambourine!!! Oh yes please, more of these.❤❤❤😊

I second that Black Oak Arkansas suggestion. They were on fire for a short time in the 70s.

I was introduced to this song when I was playing GTA5. It is featured on the Rebel Radio country music station. This is such a fun song and I love it.
If you haven't already, catch 'Jackie Blue'. The mid-70s video version that has the 'Old Grey Whistle Test' sign in the stage background. Phenomenal! I was enchanted by this song in 1974. IMO, nothing else they did matches this.
Mr Powell by Ozark Mountain Daredevils. Beautiful song!!!
Southern Rock to me was the very VERY BEST addition to the music world.
Couldn’t agree more!
My dad went to high school with some of these guys

Britt those parts featuring the harmonica are just good old foot stompin' music.

Great choice. I've always loved the song!

The Ozarks were always a fun listen. Jackie Blue was a clear favorite, asmany others have mentioned. A much more soulful song.
Saw them live in 1975

Jackie Blue is nice. their big hit. But Mr Powell is inspiring, gorgeous etc. About Major Powell who led the first US expedition down the Grand Canyon in 1874. The splendor, the wonder. Powell then became the first director of the US Geological Survey.
Jesco White loved them.
If you know Jesco, you know.
"Sloppy, slimey aigs..."
If you really like the sax, you should listen to the live version of “Lilly Was Here” by Candy Dulfer accompanied by David Stewart.
I can identify. I was the black sheep. But I had fun.
Jackie Blue at The old Grey whistle test
I saw these guys open for the Outlaws in '76.
Jackie Blue Baby !!!!
Amplified harmonica is known as a Mississippi Saxophone. When are you going to react to "MY Elusive Dreams ' with Glen Campbell and Tammy Wynette? I paid for it long ago.

You seem to be trying a little Southern Fried Rock. So I think you should try, "there goes another love song" , by the Outlaws.
I like Hardy “Give Heaven Some Hell"
PLEASE react to THE WARNING !!! Tidal Rising, Tedx Talks 2017.

Check out, “You Know Like I Know”… awesome song of theirs!

Can we call you Betty Blooper?

This is just one song I can't listen to in my vehicle. This one makes the popo think I'm having a siezer, lol. What can I say the music moves my body.
you should listen to Marty Robbins "The Master's Call"
Okay!

That song is about 50 years old.
I'll have to say like a few other commentors; Jackie Blue
Water? How about some Irish Whiskey and a nap? OK Patron or Grey Goose & Don Julio 1942 are acceptable options who's judging??
Yo my SE USA friends no worries (I'm Oregon) , Jack Daniels has put me and my best friends to sleep more times than all the above combined!
