Hi, first time here. I appreciate your work. I'd suggest the next time you have an issue with a large tire... use a bar. Even a pry bar helps. Great job on the repair. I look forward to seeing more wrench turning adventures! 😊
Right?! I wasn’t expecting the wheel bearing to be so big, heavy and expensive 😂 but it makes sense due to the fact these f350s need to be capable of pulling so much weight 😊
Those snap rings can be tough after many years of turning wrenches my grip isn't what it used to be so i use a worm clamp on the snap ring pliers and tighten the clamp as necessary to hold the grip... great job on your video
Thanks for the video, I have never done any type of maintenance like this before. Now I know where to start and what to expect when it comes time for my 2017 F350 with 130K miles
Ain't no way that snap ring came out that easy. I want to know how long a video you cut when you jumped from pulling the snap ring out with the ring pliers to it falling out.
I have a 2000 f350 7.3. My front hub is going. There's play when on the bearing. Can the bearing be replaced or do I have to replace the whole hub? Thank you for the video..
Moving those heavy wheel / tire combos is great practice for crossfit. Haha. Glad you're willing to learn stuff about the big trucks and not just your smaller cars. The F350 should serve you well, especially since its a gasser and not one of those powersmoke junkers. Go Gabz. (And the "Really, really Exciteds" have come back, which is a good sign.)
Haha I’m constantly trying new things and want to learn! The truck is def something different. I have never worked on a front solid axle before! So the set up is interesting to me. I’m happy to be back
Ok I'm doing this for the first time ever on a 2004 f350 6.0l v8 turbo diesel 4wd. After I've taken off the hub, I still have to replace back to the knuckle. Can you tell me what those parts are. I'm having trouble locating exactly what I need.
If at all possible, I’d stick to OE. I’ve used different off brand parts in my vehicle, and none of them last. Every time one of the aftermarket ones fail, I replace with acdelco(gm). Ford is motorcraft
Good job...this is not as easy job as it seems...ask me how I know, it took me a week to get a seized bearing off of my axle that was going into my E350 4x4 conversion. Question @GabbyDowning what bearings are those? Black looks great!!
Lol yup been there a few times with limited room and also having to lay the boots to a wheel to get it off…glad I’m not the only one. 😂 Great video, good information, and nice to have friends!
@@Gabby_Downing That makes two of us, unexpected benefit of TH-cam is I have made lots of great friends. Met a bunch of new ones at No Name Nationals, as I’m sure you have at some events too.
Hi, so happy to have found a female doing this and giving me the extra confidence to do this myself! Wanted to see what year your truck was and how the duralast brand is holding up a year later? Debating on buying certain brands still
Hi Gabby👋 great explanation and great vedeo 👍 you have a new subscriber and follow 👏👍👍 i have a EXCURSION 7.3 and i think it's exactly like on the EXCURSION to🤔 i need replacing my front right because the guy on inspection said for replacing 🤪 i import a wheel bearing hub from "rockauto" i hope it's coming soon 😊 cheers from Norway 🇳🇴 👍🤗
Putting a Duralast hub on my 7.3 dually as I write this. Update how many miles you get out of it. If I get less than 50k I’m going back OE or another big haas brand
Next time hang your calipers from bungie cords or wire. It'll minimize on stressing the rubber brake hose's. Those parts are heavy!! I own a 2014 f350 drw ask me how I know lol.
Really should reconsider the size of those jack stands with that truck. it's not that much more for some that are a lot safer. You really wouldn't look very good with that thing sitting on your legs or worse your head. Just a thought.
Did you just do one side? I always thought that you were supposed to replace wheel bearings in pairs? That looked like a beast of a job, so don't blame you for only wanted to do just the one side! LOL
Impressive to see a chick get down and dirty with her own ride. Thumbs up. You Gained and a new follower! (im sure you probably grew up in a shop like I did)

Nice job! It’s amazing how much bigger that bearing is compared to the del sol bearing… that bearing could be a wheel lol

Del slow has parody in wheel bearing
Chrisssss
Getting maintenance like that done gives you a definite sense of satisfaction. One less thing to worry about. Great job that bearing was a beast.
Very true!

ever thought about doing a old school type bearing and lock out hub assembly the 70s Era set up
Did you put some anti-seize on the back side of the rotor before you put it on the hub assembly? Makes removal next time easier...
Thanks for the video, I have never done any type of maintenance like this before. Now I know where to start and what to expect when it comes time for my 2017 F350 with 130K miles
I just did a set of those and had a heck of a time getting the snap ring off the driver side hub. And the passenger one came right out.
2 videos in 2 weeks. Nice.
Aiming for once a week!

A mans dream girl right there
You’re very welcome. That corvette project is gonna be sweet!! 10:08
Super stoked to start on the corvette! I’m going to start preparing the engine this weekend 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Nice. I hope mine comes out as easily as yours. I hear they can be a bear sometimes. Thanks for the video!
On trucks like this they come off easy. It's dodge that get welded on knuckles
Nice job, was the bad hub not making your 4wd lock in on that side because of lost vacuum?

Enjoyed that video I have the same f350 u made it look so easy great job hope mine comes apart as easy as yours did when mine needs done 😊

Can you put a two wheel spinel on a 4wheel drive
Now to repack new grease onto the rear axle bearing 😅🙌
Loved the video.
I've got to replace the driverside bearing on my truck.
What brand bearings do you recommend? There's so many options.

Good video I'm doing this procedure tomorrow thank you
Good job, you are tough! this been kinda hard for me, im 67.
Camera quality is crazy in this one, I like that 😎
Thank you 🥹🥹 I was worried my lack of lighting would ruin the quality
@@Gabby_Downing naww it was just right, you're welcomed
Nice work.
You deserve a new and bigger shop.
Working on it!

How hard was it getting the new studs in?
Very hard, need to take 4 year Mechanic course

I just did the one side! I should also do the driver’s side. But the bearings are pretty expensive and it isn’t an easy job. So I will wait for now.
If you jack it up higher than a half inch, the wheels are impossible to get on
Hub assembly replacement
im sorry but I didn't hear anything after you took the tire off.
Part number of the hub?
Wut
Great job Gabby. Although you would’ve had more room to work if you had backed the truck in.
Not necessarily. The bicycles are in the way and it would have been colder near the garage door
Can’t you just change the bearings??
Dixxon!
My 2010 F350 has 282K on it. I replaced both front with Timken about 70K ago and they are already bad! Frustrating.
Uhm, what warranty? You are licensed mechanic?
❤❤❤👍👍👍

a little workout a little repair, getting two birds stoned at once.
Not the kind of workout I was hoping for! 😂
@@Gabby_Downing it often does feel more like a beating
💪😁👌
Keep up one day you will be in mansion and have your own line of garages
How many people watched this that don't own a truck?
Can you come do mine 😂😂
It looks all heavy.
Can confirm
I'm angry ford is charging me $1000 for a new wheel bearing assembly, instead of me being able to simply replace the actual bearing
Did you go school lady
