    Mt 10 is insane💯

    Own a 22 MT09SP.
    Will test-drive MT10SP next week. That will clarify if I need to ECU flash mine or switch it to MT10.
    The only thing I am worried about - if MT10 can pop up wheelies as seamlessly as MT09.
    Other than that - awesome bike, can't go wrong with it. Do all the bikers have that itchiness to modify the bike or switch the bike, even if they own a perfect bike already? 🤣
    Update:
    Did a test-drive. The MT10 engine sound awesome, the MT10 feels more refined. Much more power and feels much better at higher speeds.
    BUT! One thing I love the most on MT09 is the effortless wheelies. And if I wheelie from 1st gear from the stoplight, my gear ends at ±85-90 kmh. And I am quickly dropping the speed to the speed limit.
    Where on MT10 - I find that 1st gear wheelie goes up to ±130kmh. Feels like I have more chances to get in trouble. Also it felt that wheelie control is more intrusive than MT09, and without it - it's just a beast :D
    Anyway once I am done with wheelies ( if ever ) I will gladly switch to MT10. In general it's definitely a better bike, but not for me. The power MT09 has is just what I need for my type of riding.

    Hello mate, can you do a walk around video of the bike showing mods etc? are the wheels a nightmare to keep clean?

      @calsbike17  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, yes I will - just waiting on some parts and an exhaust before I do a walk around of the mods. I clean the bike regularly and it’s only ridden in good weather so the wheels are easy to keep on top of 👍

      I own a '21 new gen mt09 and beg to differ. I found a screaming deal on a '18 mt10 and bought it. EVERYTHING on the old mt10 is superior in quality to the new gen non sp mt09!

    Spent a day with a gen 3 MT-09 SP and absolutely loved it: eager, fun engine and beautiful suspension and chassis. But the power, noise and presence of my 2019 MT-10 (non-SP) was a reminder that the 10 is truly the daddy. For me, there’s no comparison. The gen 2 MT-10 with its IMU, blipper and improved brakes must be so much further ahead…

      Good to hear, I’ve heard great things about the gen 3 mt09 - will have to take one for a test ride. The new MT10 is a very nice bike to ride, I’m sure you would get a real feel for the differences as you’ve owned your MT10! If you can test ride the new gen I would highly recommend it 🙌

      Had a gen 2 mt09sp,,then a 10,non sp,,,had that for 3 years,,now got a 2023 9 sp,,,,much easier bike to ride,, the 10 on road,,,you can't use the power,,the new 9more grin factor,,,the 10 is the daddy,,but not the better bike,,just my opinion,,,now the 10 sp,,,haven't rode one off them,,,but probably the same problem,,ware can you unleash the power??? And the 10 definitely doesn't go round corners better than the 9, also both the 10,,,or 9,,,are nearly the same from 0 to120 mph,,,, 9 is quick nimble and very quick,,personly the new 09sp is better,,but both bikes. Are excellent,,but the full potential off the 10,,,isn't possible on our roads,,,

      @@175yam1i dont even know where to unleash the full potential of the 09 on regular roads😂 the 10 feels more stable and actually less of a hooligan than the 9. 10 is more "mature".

    Great informative vid. I bought an MT09 coming from an MT07 and I constantly find myself missing the punchiness and rowdiness of the 07. While fun on the right roads, I find the 09 to be gutless until it's screaming up in the RPM. Would you say the MT10 has more of a brutal punchy character and instantaneous get up and go compared than the 09?

    Gone through many bikes and three mt09 latest one too!! Mt09 is bloody good bike new version much easier to move around all sound awesome with the right pipe. MT10 is heavier and sturdy. Not as flickable v mt09 due to weight. I have the 2022 mt10 love sound and sturdy but mt09 on small roads and twisties is better. Engine is damn good both equal and built for each purpose. This new mt10 has been dubbed down. Only thing with new mt09 it’s small screen lol and needs suspension setup. So does the standard mt10 sag has to be setup for own weight. Get a link pipe on mt10 and end can.. even the gen 2 cans fit on the new gen. Then the thing is slightly more beastly power and weight loss with straight though sound! Oh my

    • @ubergregmoto
      @ubergregmoto ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So true, MT-09 is more manageable on B-roads and you can use more of its performance more of the time. It kind of isn’t right to compare them… 100% with you on the exhaust (but also get the ECU flash for smoother throttle response and Tuono-matching power) and the suspension setup-brings the bike to a whole new level of fun and performance.

      Would love to test ride the latest gen mt09! Heard great things from anyone who’s ridden one. I should have mentioned in the video the mt09 does feel more agile which is nice on slower twisties as it doesn’t require as much rider input, had alot of fun on mine so imagine the latest gen mt09 would be a blast! Either way they are both fun bikes to ride and both have great engines! 👍

      Good to know about getting the ECU mapped, my exhaust is arriving soon so will be sorting that shortly after. Will also be putting Nitron suspension on the bike towards the back end of this year 🙌

    • @ubergregmoto
      @ubergregmoto ปีที่แล้ว

      @@calsbike17 After tuning my stock suspension, the bike turned into a real street weapon-less dive under braking, more front-end confidence and insane drive out of corners. Can't imagine how epic the Nitron will be.
      You won't believe what a difference the exhaust + flash makes to the overall riding experience 😁👌 Euro 4/5 restrictions leave so much change on the table...

      @@calsbike17 You should try the latest MT-09 SP with the suspension tuned for your weight. That thing is so flickable and stable it is insane. I've driven that and the 2022 MT-10 myself, and while the MT-10 feels more sturdy and planted, it is not really needed unless you go very, very fast. The MT-10 is more suitable for canyon carving in the US, where the roads are far bigger and turns allow for far higher speeds. Small backroad twisties in europe is more suited for the MT-09 SP with a proper suspension setup in my opinion. The SP is so good when the suspension is set to the rider. Also the added benefit of using significantly less fuel on the MT-09. Average 50mpg (MT-09) to 30mpg (MT-10) for agressive riding makes quite a difference. I do love the looks of the 2022 MT-10 more though, it looks far more dominating, like a bulldog or lion ready to pounce with it's broad shoulders and forward leaning stance. The MT-09 looks a bit narrow by comparison. Both have excellent electronics and cruise control. The MT-10 allows slightly more customization, and has a slightly bigger display, and that's about it - the 6-axis IMU and rider aids are all the same.

      @@peterdee7932 I think so. When I bought it, I drove 250km on highway on the mt09, and it was terrible. The trip home was totally different, and so much better - I liket the mt09, but mostly as a "fun-bike" :-)

      I’m torn between the huge bang for buck 22 MT09 and the 22 MT10. I’m coming from a supercharged H2 SX . Rudder the 09 and it was amazing. Never ridden earlier models . Quckahift was silky smooth and it had enough power any road . But !!! I’m 6”2 and felt like a bear on a unicycle…. The 10 also has cruise control. I do a fair few motorway miles so maybe that’s another thing . Anyone tested the latest generations against each other ?

    I have been trying to have a test ride on a new 2022 MT 10 since around may this year. Both the 2 of my local Yamaha dealers seem to be completely unhelpful. When ever I contact them with regards to a test ride, They seem uninterested in helping me nor giving me any information. I’ve rang, messaged and been into both dealerships and am told there is no demo bikes to ride yet….. BMW on the other hand who’s S1000R I have NO Iinterest in buying what so ever, never stop mothering me to tAke it out for a test ride!

    I had MT10 and it is an amazing bike. Better than any other i ever rode, period. Than i tried 09 and Tracer and immediately noticed the difference in handling. Can't be compared. The only reason why i sold MT10 is consumption. I ride a lot and couldn't live with it, at least now...
    I also got 07 and got shocked how much it feels like 10 (much more than 09), where the only main difference is felt in power in upper range. 07 has power down low and you really use it, similarly to 10. Now I'm thinking which bike should I get since I moved to another country. Still think I'll get 07 because 09s handling doesn't suit my riding style. Anyways, will do a test ride again with old gen and new gen 09 before i make a decision. For now, 07 seems like the best choice for me. 👍

    I bought a '21 new gen mt09 after a love affair with a fully kitted '18 mt09, K-Tech front and rear, etc. While impressed with new gen 09 in ways, I'm also less than impressed with some of the budget "kit" on it. Haven't started spending money yet making it run healthy. I found a '18 mt10 2 weeks ago for a screaming good deal. 1200mi and I got it from a private party for $9700 US. EVERYTHING on the old 10 is better quality, suspension is a big deal to me. The KYB legs 🦵 on the '18 mt10 are so far superior to the stock suspension on the non sp new gen mt09 that there is no comparison. Can't keep them both🤔
